(Ruby's Pov)

It's now or never. I've got to do this.

"Sapphire." I say and she looks up at me. I slide a little closer to her.

"I'm so sorry about last night! I didn't want to do that but I had to." I say and she tilts her head cutely. No, I did not just think that!

"It's fine. I understand, you have a reputation you have to uphold and I would only ruin it." She says.

"No. I wish I didn't have to act this way. It's only at school that I can't be myself!" I say and she hands me a cookie. I shake my head and take it with a smile. I bite into it peanut butter my favorite!

"Well I like this you a lot better." She says and I laugh.

"You and me both!" I say and go for another cookie. I brush my hand over something really soft. I look down to see Sapphire's hand. I pull my hand back quickly.

"I'm sorry." I say.

"Don't be. It's fine." She grabs a cookie and she bites into it. I find myself staring at her lips. So full and plump. I hear a giggle that draws me out of the trance.

I look up and Sapphire is laughing at me. She must've noticed me staring. I blush a little.

"How did you think of those lyrics?" She asks me.

"Oh. It was after the party and out of nowhere I thought of the words." I tell her. I honestly have no idea how I thought of those lyrics, they just came to me.

"You're really talented!" She tells me and I smile.

"Not as talented as you! You were absolutely amazing when you were singing! I couldn't take my eyes off of you!" I say and she smiles lightly.

"Thank you. I don't normally like to sing in front of people." Sapphire says.

"You should! You're outstanding!" I tell her and she looks right at me.

"Really?" She says and I nod.

"You know we should hang out more! Not in school though. Like at our houses!" I offer and she looks shocked.

"You want to hang out with me?" She asks so sweetly.

"Yeah definitely! You seem really cool!" I say and she takes out a pen. She writes down her address and phone number on my hand. I do the same to her.

"It's pretty late so I guess you guys should be heading on home. I'll see you in class tomorrow." Rose says and we nod. We leave her house and I head home. Sapphire jumps in a car with Amethyst and they leave ahead of me.

I walk down the street and to my house. It's a nice two-story that's the perfect size for my mother and I. My parents are divorced so it's pretty quiet.

"Hey Mom! I'm home!" I say and she replies with an okay. I go up to my bedroom and lay on the bed. I decide to text Emerald.

To Emerald:
Hey Babe

From Emerald:
Hey Baby! I'm sorry but can you text me later? I'm in the middle of something.

To Emerald:
Again?! Fine.

After that I throw my phone. I hear it buzz again and I go over to where it landed. I pick it up and look for cracks. Luckily it didn't break. I check the text.

Sapphire. She actually decided to text me! I read the message with a giant smile on my face.

From: Sapphire
Hey Ruby! It's me Sapphire! Wait, you already have my number in your phone don't you! I just wanted to say thank you for being so nice to me!

To: Sapphire
No problem! Just remember that tomorrow we can't act like we're friends okay?

From: Sapphire

Okay. And we're friends?!

To: Sapphire
Sure if you want to be.

From: Sapphire
Yes!Yes!Yes! I would love to be friends!

To:Sapphire
Great! So tomorrow, do you want to come by my house?

From: Sapphire
Sure! Can Amethyst come?

To: Sapphire
Sure!

From: Sapphire
Okay see you there bye!!!

To: Sapphire
Okay bye!

I can't stop smiling! She's just too cute for her own good! I really wanted to spend time with her alone but I guess having Amethyst there will make her feel safer.

I can't wait until tomorrow!
