(Ruby's Pov)

"Pearl's missing?!" Sapphire says and she runs over to where Opal is.

"Yes! She was supposed to come home straight after school but she never came!" Opal tells her with tears in her eyes.

"I can't believe this happened again!" I say.

"We're having a family meeting about it tomorrow. Please come." She says and I nod.

"Of course we will!" She says and she hugs Opal. Opal pulls away with a small smile. She gets in her car and drives away. The car swerving a little. She must be really tore up about this.

"Thank you so much for this night Ruby but I need to lay down for a while." Sapphire says. I nod and kiss her forehead.

"I understand. Get some rest and I'll text you in the morning." She smiles with a cut little blush. She walks inside and she shuts the door. She waves at me from the window and I wave back. I walk to my car and get inside. I start it up and head to my house. I pull up and see that my window was broken.

I run inside and look at the damage. I see glass everywhere and a brick with something tied to it. I look at the brick.

I warned you not to interfere!

Is written in a marker with pictures of Amethyst and Pearl on some concrete room.

'Shatter!'

I hear a loud shattering noise and it came from my bedroom. It can't be mom since she's out with some friends. I slowly creep up the steps trying not to make a sound. With every step a stair creaks and my breath sound ten times louder. As I near my door I see that it's open.

I peek inside and see that another brick was thrown into my room. I pick it up and see a picture of Sapphire and I on our date. I read the scribbled note.

She's Next

I drop the brick and I run out the door and to my car. I jump in and start it. I pull out of my driveway and onto the main road. I pull out my phone and try to call Sapphire but she won't pick up.

"Come on. Pick up." I say and keep trying. I speed down the highway trying to get to her house as soon as I can.

I reach the house and pull the car to a stop. I run up to the door and I bang on it. It opens by itself and I look inside. Furniture is flipped over and glass is broken.

"Sapphire!" I yell but I get no answer. I run inside and look everywhere for her. I get to her room and I see her laying in a pool of blood. I gasp and see that she's in fact still breathing.
I call an ambulance and I put her head in my lap. I stroke her face.

"It's going to be okay. I promise I won't let anything happen to you." I say and she glances up at me.

"Ruby?" She asks.

"Yes it's me. I'm here. I got you." I say and she looks ready to fall asleep.

"Don't fall asleep. You have to stay awake." I tell her and she nods. I brush the hair off of her face. I gasp as I see her one eye. I wonder what happened. I want to ask questions but noes not the time!

I hear the ambulance pull up and they come rushing in. They grab Sapphire out of my arms and put her on a stretcher.

"Can I ride with you?" I ask.

"Are you family?" They ask.

"No she's my girlfriend!" I say.

"Then no." They tell me and shut the doors in my face. I get in my car and follow behind them.

"Please be okay, please be okay." I say to myself as I feel a pain in my heart.
