(Sapphire's Pov) *Two Days Later*

Today is my first day back to school. I'm absolutely terrified of going but Ruby said she'd be there for me every step of the way.

I've already finished in the bathroom and now I'm getting dressed. I put on my pikachu t-shirt that Ruby bought for me. She bought herself an Ash Ketchum shirt. She decided it would be cute for us to arrive together with matching shirts.

I had just finished putting on my black skinny jeans when Ruby walks in.

"Hey babe, you ready?" She asked and I turned around nodding. Ruby glances at my shirt and smiles.

"You look so adorable." She says and I blush. I walk over to where she's standing and she pecks my cheek. She grabs my hand and we walk out of the house. We head straight for her car and she opens the door for me.

"Ruby, I could've done it." I say while sitting down. She closes the door and goes to the drivers's side. She sits down and looks at me.

"Yeah but I wanted to and I'm trying to make today as amazing as I can for you." She says. I grab her hand.

"Ruby. You make everyday amazing just by being you." I say her eyes widen and she kisses me. I pull back with a small smile.

"Yeah. You're right I am pretty great." She says joking. She starts up the car and we start down the road.

While driving we get behind a few slow drivers. I laugh as I see Ruby's face get angrier and angrier. She finally snaps and starts yelling out the window.

"Who's driving up there?! My grandma's goldfish moves faster!" She yells and swerved the car in front of the other one.

"Ruby calm down, it's just a little road rage." I say and she looks over at me.

"You call it road rage but I call it expressing my feelings in a way that others won't understand." She says and hits the gas. We zoom up the highway.

When we reach school we step out and go inside. Emerald comes running over.

"Oh Sapphire! I'm so sorry about how you were in the hospital! I would've visited but I had a lot of homework." She says and she looks over at Ruby. She runs her hand down her arm.

"Hey Ruby, I was wondering if maybe you wanted to come over to my house?" She asked. Ruby yanked her arm from her and put her arm around my waist. She pulled me closer.

"Sorry but we have plans today. And on everyday that ends in -y." She says and she walks me to my locker. She gives me a quick kiss and she walks to her own. I get out my stuff and walk to the music room.

I walk in to see that Ms. Quartz isn't there and instead we have a substitute.

"Ms. Quartz must be taking Pearl's disappearance pretty hard." I think to myself and I go over to my table. I look around and it's just Ruby and I. Ruby grabs my hand and runs her thumb over my knuckles.

'Knock, knock, knock'

Someone knocks o the music room doors. The substitute opens it and Lapis steps in with Peridot.

"Hi! I'm Lapis and this is Peridot. We're supposed to be in the class." Lapis says. The Substitute nods and they walk over to our table.

"You guys are in this class?" Ruby asks them. Lapis nods.

"We had different classes at the beginning of the year but we switched them." She tells us.

"Why?" Ruby asks and I look at her.

"What Ruby means to say is why exactly did you decide to switch your classes?" I ask them. They look at each other.

"Well we want to start over. We're sorry about all of trouble we caused when we were younger. We were just following Jasper blindly." Lapis said.

"Who knew that she would stab us in the back like that." Peridot says. As she finished telling us that,my phone starting vibrating. I raise my hand.

"May I go to the bathroom room?" I ask the Substitute and she lets me go. I go to the nearest bathroom and answer the call.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Sapphire! It's me, Amethyst!" I hear the voice say.

"Amethyst?! You're okay?!" I yell into my phone and Ruby comes running in.

"Sapphire? Babe? You okay?" She asks and walks over to me.

"Amethyst is on the phone!" I yell and she gasps.

"Yeah yeah I know it's awesome to hear me again."
Amethyst says trying to lighten the mood.

"Where are you?" I ask.

"One sec. Pearl!" She yells.

"Yes Amethyst." Pearl says.

"Where are we?!" Amethyst yells again.

"We're in Shimmer Valley." Pearl answers.

"We're in Shimmer Valley." Amethyst tells us.

"Shimmer Valley?! That's four hours away!" Ruby yells.

"Jasper pulled an all nighter driving us away from that Cabin." Amethyst answers.

"At least you'll be coming back soon." I say and she sighs.

"Yeah but we stole a Rv so we're going to have to switch vehicles. It might take us about a day to get there." Amethyst says.

"You did what?!" I yell.

"Bye~" she says and she hangs up.

"I can't believe she stole a Rv!" I say.

"I can." Ruby says. I hug her and she hugs me back.

"They're almost here." I say and she hums.

"Yep. And when they are, all of this drama is over." She says whispering in my ear. I feel so safe and secure in her arms. I know it might be too soon but I think I maybe sorta kinda love her. Is that crazy?
