The Party
Garroth and I walked up to a huge house which people were pouring into. He grabbed my wrist and I grabbed his. "Don't let go of me," he whispered as we walked up to the house.
"What if I get lost?" I asked, suddenly worried.
"Then just find your way to a wall in the living room, avoid anyone who's drunk-"
"People are drinking!?" I exclaimed.
"Sadly," he shook his head and we entered. He lead me into the living room and there were so many people I immediately lost him and I got stuck in the middle of a bunch of drunk girls dancing.
Everything went wrong so fast. I felt a hand grab my wrist and pull me out of the group and I bumped into their chest. I looked at his face and felt my face heat up.
He was really handsome, he wore a black and green striped shirt with ripped jeans and the colors complimented his light brown hair and baby blue eyes. "Are you okay!?" He screamed over the blaring music.
"What!?" I yelled. He chuckled and lead me to the backyard where we sat on the porch.
"I asked if you were okay," he smiled. I shrunk back a little.
"Y-Yeah I'm fine... just lost my brother," I mumbled, tucking some hair behind my ear.
"Pretty thing like you? I wouldn't blame you," he winked.
"H-Huh?" I stepped back, leaning against the railing. "Was that supposed to be-"
"A joke... sorry, not everyone gets it," he shrugged. I nodded and looked down at my feet. "So what's your name?"
"(Y/N)," I smiled a little.
"Name's Laurance," he held his hand out. I took it cautiously and he smiled.
"So you're not like a fake Sophomore or anything right?"
"Advanced student, I skipped a grade." I mumbled.
"That explains why you're slightly behind in growth." I rolled my eyes and pulled my phone from my purse. I called Garroth and he answered almost immediately.
"WHERE ARE YOU!?"
"Calm down, I got stuck in the middle of a bunch of drunk girls, but someone helped me get away."
"Who?"
"Uh, some guy named Laurance."
"Where are you!?"
"Backyard, why?" I heard a beep showing that he ended the call. I sighed and pushed my phone back into my purse.
"Uh, you know you're, really pretty, maybe you'd like to go on a date or something?"
"Oh, I'm I don't know, I kind of a deal with my parents, no boyfriends, job first," I laughed awkwardly trying to avoid the conversation.
"Well we don't have to be a thing, one date won't hurt, will it?" He smirked standing closer to me.
"I-I guess not," I mumbled looking down. He was standing right over me and I was feeling very self conscious.
"(Y/N)! Thank Irene I found you!" I looked up to see an exasperated Garroth.
"Hey Garroth!" Laurance smiled.
"...Laurance, what are you doing with me Baby Sister?"
"Well, I was just... meeting her." He scratched the back of his neck. "Actually I didn't know you had a sister, but I knew you had two brothers."
I rolled my eyes. "He doesn't talk about me because I'm different," I glared.
"Different how?" Laurance asked seeming intrigued.
"Just a strange relation to another family." I shook my head.
"(Y/N) we should leave," Garroth said eyeing Laurance wearily.
"Actually, Garroth I think I want to stay." I saw a cooler filled to the brim with rootbeers. I walked over and grabbed one, popping it open and I took a quick drink. "I mean we just got here."
"(Y/N), we should go!" Garroth urged.
"Why!?" I laughed. "You treat me like I'm five years old, I'm fourteen Garroth, I can handle myself," I set the root beer down and walked back inside disappearing into the crowd. I emerged in the kitchen to see a few emo looking kids in the corner.
"Hey!" The one with black hair yelled at me. I looked around and I was the only one in here aside from them so I approached them.
"What!?" I snapped.
"Who first much?" He chuckled.
"Who are you?" I asked crossing my arms.
"I'm Gene, these are my friends Sasha and Zenix."
"Hey," the girl nodded. The other guy just looked away angrily.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Want to join our group?" Gene asked.
"Mmmm, nope," I turned to walk away, but he grabbed my wrist and I reacted quickly and punched him in the gut. He doubled over and I walked off, waving like a perfect French girl. I walked into the living room and scaled the wall and found my way to a corner and leaned against the wall.
"Well, well, well," I turned to see Laurance leaning against the wall next to me. "I see you're on my wall."
"Ug, whatever," I shook my head, trying not to laugh.
"So what was that back there?" He asked cranning his neck back to the porch.
"Uh... sorry. I'm usually not like that, it's just Garroth is always on my case about guys, he obviously gets it from our father-"
"Protective father, protective older brother, the younger sister is falling in love with his best friend, total cliche," he grinned.
"Uh, excuse me, I am not falling in love with you. I just met you. And... besides for all I know you could be a total play boy."
"What would make you say that?" He leaned toward me.
"Its written all over your face. What do you think?" I asked, shoving his head away. He laughed.
"Well I think that the date this weekend is totally going to change your mind and you'll be swooning over me and begging me to have your children-"
"Just a few things. One, that was totally creepy and perverted. Two, I am in no rush for man. Especially one that's got such a huge ego." I smirked.
"Fair enough, what about you?"
"There's nothing to me. Unless you're in for immediate danger," I looked up at him, daring.
"Danger? A small shrimp like you?" He laughed. I shook my head.
"Wow, okay. I have to go. Nice talking to you. You're real good with people skills." I laughed slightly angered and walked off.
I ran outside and saw Garroth waiting for me. I shivered as the sun started to set. Garroth handed me his Letterman. "Thanks Garroth," I mumbled leaning against his shoulder as we walked.
"No problem baby sister."
