Chapter 25
Sorry this chapter took so long, I'm really bad at filler and couldn't think of how I wanted to write some of the scenes. Anyway, enjoy!
-Peter's POV-
"May?"
"What's up, Pete?" She sticks her head in my room, wiping her hands on her jeans.
"I need your help with something," I say and she walks over and sits next to me.
"Okay," she nods. "What happened?"
"Kay won't talk to me, I don't know how to fix it." I admit and she creases her eyebrows in confusion.
"You mean you want to get back together?" She asks.
"I mean, I really just want to be her friend again." I mumble and she pulls me into her side.
"You need to apologize, Peter."
"How?" I throw my hands up. "I messed up really bad, she won't forgive me."
"Well, she definitely won't forgive you if you don't say anything." She points out. "Trust me, Peter, she misses you too."
"No, she doesn't." I shake my head. "She yells at me whenever we talk."
"Because she's upset," May insists. "She's mad that you hurt her, and by not apologizing, she doesn't know how you feel. Talk to her."
"Okay," I mumble and she raises her eyebrows.
"Now," she waves her hand at me, making me look at her in confusion. "You know where she lives, go."
"I can't go right now," I shake my head and she rolls her eyes.
"Yes you can, take your suit and swing over there." She orders. "If you come home and didn't apologize, I will go over and do it myself."
"Okay, okay," I throw my hands up in surrender and walk in my room, closing the door and grabbing my suit. I change quickly, pulling on my mask and opening the window. "I'll be back soon, May!"

-Katelyn's POV-
I hear taps on my window and freeze, knowing there's only one person it could be. I turn around to see Peter crouching on the fire escape, mask on. I slowly walk over and slide the window open, looking at him cautiously.
"Kay, I... Can I talk to you?" He asks, and I nod and move to the side. He slides in, pulling his mask off and standing awkwardly.
"Hey," I say, unsure of what to do.
"Hey," he repeats quietly, rubbing the back of his neck. "Look, I'm really sorry. About everything. If I could go back and change it, I would. I was being dumb and I hurt you, I'm so sorry."
"Yeah," I look down. "You did."
"I'm so sorry," he whispers. "You don't have to forgive me, you can ignore me forever if you want, but I just want you to know that I still care about you. I didn't want to do that to you, I thought I would be protecting you."
"Well, that didn't work out to well," I joke, trying to ease the tension. "You were being really stupid. I get what you were trying to do, but you could have done it a different way."
"I know," he sighs, closing his eyes. "I regret it so much."
"I know you do. I forgive you," I say quietly, making him look up at me with wide eyes.
"Really?" He smiles softly and I nod.
"Yeah. We can be friends again." I smile back, meeting his grateful eyes.
---------
"Finally," Sam sighs, making me look at her quizzically. "I love you Kay, I really do, but I was getting a bit tired of bullying Peter."
"I wasn't," MJ shrugs and I give her a look. "Kidding, kidding." Sam rolls her eyes and grabs MJ's hand, making me jokingly gag, imitating the year of taunting I got from Sam when I was dating Peter.
"Ew," I exaggerate disgust and MJ laughs. "Get away from me."
"That's homophobic."
"Oh, shut up, Sam." I laugh, shoving her shoulder playfully as she grins. "Let's go, it's time for lunch."
"Are we sitting with Ned and Peter again?" MJ asks and I bite my lip in thought.
"I guess so," I shrug. "There's no reason not to anymore."
"Thank god," Sam sighs in relief. "I might have committed homicide if Flash tried to get you to sit with him again."
"Me too," I grumble. "C'mon, let's go."
We walk to the cafeteria, standing in line for a bit before we get our lunches, which consisted of a corn dog and some peach slices. I grabbed a chocolate milk and followed Sam and MJ over to where the boys were sitting. Peter looked up and saw us, a hopeful expression on his face. I slide in next to Sam and MJ, across from Ned and Peter.
"Hey, guys!" Ned says cheerfully and I smile at him. We say our hellos and start eating, not making much conversation. We sit in silence for a few minutes and I start drinking my milk as Ned looks over at me. "So, Kay, are you a superhero now?"
"What?" I choke on my milk, and my eyes widen. Peter, Sam and MJ look at him incredulously while I glance around to make sure no one heard him. Luckily, none of us were popular, so there wasn't anyone in earshot that cared enough to eavesdrop.
"Ned, you can't just blurt that out!" Peter hisses at him, also looking around worriedly. "What if someone heard?"
"They didn't," he defends and Sam rubs her temples in exasperation. "No one wants to be near us anyway. So, do you?"
"I mean... Yeah..." I mutter, still on edge. "Ned, you can't tell anyone."
"I know," he holds his hands out in a surrender. "I had to do the same thing for Peter, I know the drill."
"What do you mean?" MJ questions and I remember that she was the only one who hadn't found out about Peter yet. Peter gapes at Ned as his eyes widen, slapping his hand over his mouth when he realizes his mistake. Realization dawns on MJ and she stares at Peter in shock. "Oh my god. You're Spider-Man"
"No," Peter shakes his head rapidly with wide eyes as I groan and put my head on the table. The damage is already done. "Ned's just being weird."
"This is insane," she whispers and looks between Peter and I. "How are two of my friends superheroes. Does anyone else have a special ability? Ned? Is yours being physically unable to keep a secret?"
"I didn't mean to!" He insists, looking incredibly guilty. "I forgot you didn't know!"
"How about you just assume no one knows from now on," Sam raises her eyebrows, trying not to laugh.
"Yeah," Ned mumbles, looking down at the table. "Yeah, that's a good idea."
