Chapter 8
I love how once I started the kidnapping plot I'm able to pump out multiple chapters a day, plus unreleased drafts 🙃
-Peter's POV-
"Hey, Peter, do you know when Kay is gonna be here?" May calls from the kitchen and I shake my head.
"She said she was going to go home for a bit," I say and she creases her eyebrows.
"It's been two hours since school ended," she points out. "She should be here by now."
"I'll call her," I say and take out my phone, dialing her number. I walk to my room and listen to the phone still dialing. The phone rings for a bit until it goes to voicemail. I furrow my eyebrows and call Sam, maybe she forgot and is already with her.
"Hey, Peter, what's up?"
"Hey, is Kay with you?" I ask.
"No, I thought she was with you," She says in confusion and I purse my lips.
"Have you heard from her recently?"
"Yeah, she called me about an hour and a half ago to tell me she was gonna have dinner with May before she came over," she explains and my stomach drops.
"Okay, thanks Sam," I say and hang up. I walk back out to the living room to see May sitting nervously on the couch.
"Where is she?" She questions when she sees my face.
"I don't know," I mutter and grab my bag with my suit in it. "I'm gonna go find her."
"Check her apartment first, maybe she just has her phone off," she suggests and I nod.
"I'll be back later, May," I say and kiss her cheek. "Love you."
"Love you too. Stay safe."

-Katelyn's POV-
My head throbs as I suck in a breath and open my eyes. I glance around to find myself in a dimly lit room and start to panic. I see the door and scramble up and run over to it. I jiggle the knob, but, as expected, it's locked. My breath starts coming in short, shallow gasps as I bang on the door.
"Hey!" I scream. "Hey, is anyone there? I'm in here, help! Help, please!" I yell for a few more seconds before giving up and sitting back down. I close my eyes for a second to steady my breathing and open them again after a minute.
I hear footsteps approaching the door and quickly stand up as the door opens. A man steps in, not bothering to close the door, and I lift my chin, trying to put on a brave face as I glare at him. I can't let him see I'm afraid of him. He just smirks as he walks closer to me and I force myself to stand my ground. He stops about half a foot in front of me and I continue to stare him down.
"Why am I here?" I demand and he grins.
"I think you know." He says and chuckles at my slightly confused expression as he hands me my phone. "Call Spider-Man."
"I don't know what you're talking about," I say, feeling sick to my stomach.
"I've seen you with him multiple times." He growls and I know I can't play dumb this time. "Call him, now."
"No."
"I don't think you understand the situation," he says, getting closer to me. "You do what I say, and I don't hurt you. You don't, and you might not like what happens."
I remember the open door behind him and in a panic make a mad dash around him for it. I make it about a foot before he grabs my arm and yanks me back, sending me crashing to the floor. He crouches down in front of me with a smirk, and I glare at him.
"I'm going to leave this phone here," he whispers menacingly and puts the phone in front of me. "And when I come back, you will have called him, and he will be on his way."
He stands up and walks out the door, closing it behind him. I hear the lock click and look around the room for any cameras. When I don't see any, I finally let a few tears fall. I have no idea what to do; if I call Peter then he'll know his identity, but if I don't, he could kill me, or worse. Even if I can't see any cameras, the room could still be bugged for the man to hear me call him, which also rules out calling the police.
And if I call Peter and don't reveal his identity, he would still be walking right into what is most likely a trap. I sigh deeply and wipe the tears off my cheeks, deciding to just wait for the man to come back and take whatever he throws at me.

-Peter's POV-
"No, no, no, no, no," I mutter and yank off my mask when I don't see her anywhere in the apartment. I look around and don't see her backpack, laptop, or phone anywhere. I run a hand through my hair in panic and dial May.
"May, she's not here," I say, fear creeping in. "Neither is any of her phone or stuff for school. I don't think she came home."
"Okay, where could she be?" May asks, trying to keep me calm.
"Oh my god, someone probably took her," I groan and pull my mask back on, getting ready to turn the city over looking for her. "I'm going to go look from her, I'm not coming home until I find her."
"Peter-" I hang up and take a deep breath before swinging out the window.
----------
-May's POV-
"Peter, maybe you should-" I hear the call cut off and sigh, putting my head in my hands. Of course I'm worried about Katelyn, she's like my own daughter, but I don't want Peter charging right into what was probably a trap. I grabbed the phone and dialed Happy, praying he'll pick up.
"Hey, how are you doing, May?" He picks up, but I need to cut straight to the point.
"Happy, I need help." I say quickly.
"Of course, what happened?" He says worriedly.
"Kay disappeared and Peter thinks someone took her, he's out looking for her now." I explain. "I think he's walking into a trap, but he says he's not coming home until he finds her."
"I'll try to contact people, but the team is still a little scattered right now, May," he warns and I shake my head.
"Happy, please, do something." I plead, and hear a sigh on his side of the call. "I can't lose them."
"May, I'll do my best, I promise." He says. "But I might not be able to get everyone."
"I know, just... just please help them."
"I will."
