Mingyu warns his husband's choice of words while peeking behind his pouty husband's body to give his sweetest smile to their five years old children, the triplets. The youngest mimics his omega's father's unsatisfied and pouty face while his two older siblings only look at their alpha's father with a stoic face. That kind of face, Mingyu is sure that they learned it from Wonwoo too.

It's only a month away since the last time Mingyu left them, remember the incident with Dalbit? Yeah, it really felt like yesterday. And now, Mingyu needs to leave them again, for a longer time, all thanks to the tax audit that is being held by the government to his Company. It's not like he did the tax evasion or fraudulent things, Mingyu is always a clean and honest businessman. This shit is happening because of the ongoing trade war between the two superpower countries. He doesn't need to explain more but thanks to that, the Government where his company's headquarter located is being so nosy related to tax, especially about the transfer pricing tariff between all of his Companies in the inside and outside United Kingdom.

Headache stuff, you don't need to know the details.

All you need to know is that Mingyu really wants to burn his Company when he sees those sad eyes from the most important person in his life... Jeon Wonwoo, when he takes a step to leave him again and their children.

"It's only a month. I will go back immediately if there is anything, though I don't wish for something bad to happen again. I promise..." Mingyu wants to kiss a sad Wonwoo but there are the children there, so he holds himself. Instead of kissing the love of his life, he reaches for his cheek and rubs it gently in a soothing manner. "Don't be too sad, my love."

Wonwoo leans his cheek on Mingyu's touch and closes his eyes for a moment. Mingyu can definitely feel his emotion right now and he feels the air surrounding them is not enough to make them both breathe properly.

"We can't celebrate your birthday together, you will be alone on your birthday this year."

Mingyu's world is paused as he looks at his husband with so much emotion dancing in his eyes.

So... the reason Wonwoo becomes this sad, is not because they will encounter another long distance relationship and must taste the bitterness of longing and yearning again, but the thought of Mingyu being alone again on his birthday kills him...

God.

If anything, Kim Mingyu falls deeper and deeper to Jeon Wonwoo every single day.

Mingyu and Wonwoo don't say anything again, they only look into each other's eyes as if it's enough to convey their deepest feelings. And for them, it's always more than enough. They stay like that until... until.. they hear the sound of sobbing that comes from three of their children.

Yes, three of them. It's not only the youngest who is usually the most sensitive one but also the oldest, the calm one, and the middle, the naughty and strong willed one.

The triplets are crying together as if they three can feel how their parents feel toward this one month separation. As if they can feel it, the parents' feeling, and it tortures them more than how a child can feel about their father who needs to leave them for quite some time.

At the end Mingyu needs to console not only his husband but all of his not so little family and Mingyu remembers he was that close to call his secretary in London and asks him to just sell his company. He doesn't want to take care of it anymore if the price is seeing his family all crying because of it.

Haa... being a responsible adult is really tough and tiresome.

Two weeks passed since Mingyu left them, again , and Wonwoo's world has been really upside down since then. He always planned that if it became too much to handle, his yearning he means , he will bring his family to London to visit their alpha's father. So they can celebrate Mingyu's birthday together. But the reality is not that easy.

Dalbit is still in his recovery stage from his last injury, then a week later, the strongest one, their alpha son, is falling ill. Taeyang suddenly had a high fever. Wonwoo intentionally doesn't tell the news of Taeyang's sickness to Mingyu because he sees that he still can handle it. Wonwoo and his only daughter have a joint hand to take care of those two youngest children in their home. Byul is always so mature and dependable, Wonwoo is forever grateful to have a child like her.

The most worrisome part is not the children, but Wonwoo's alpha husband himself.

Wonwoo is so worried to death about him. The tax audit really went rough and tough, Mingyu is almost sleeping at 4AM every single day when he's also needed to be present at a meeting at 9AM. He is so crazy busy until he sometimes only touches his lunch at 3PM and almost skips his dinner if it's not because of Wonwoo's neverending morning rant. It's morning in Wonwoo's time zone and night at Mingyu's.

"What are you doing? Are you doing intermittent fasting or what? I don't like it, Mingyu. No matter how busy you are, you need to eat! I will search for another husband if you come back home looking like a corpse!"

Apparently Wonwoo's threat is giving Mingyu more nightmare than a tax audit to his Company, after that threat Mingyu is sending his omega husband a selfie whenever he takes his breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Three meals a day, complete one.

And Wonwoo finally can breathe more easily to at least seeing his husband eating well, though he can see the pile of documents in Mingyu's desk as if Mingyu is always eating on his desk while working. He looks so stressed, those panda and tired eyes can't lie, Wonwoo can definitely see it in Mingyu's eating selfie and his voice whenever they call.

Poor him.

He must help.

So one morning, after he sends his children to their pre-school (thank God, Taeyang's condition is way better than before, the doctor said he can go to school again), he goes to his bedroom and locks it. He is on the operation of reducing some stress of his thousand miles away husband. In Mingyu's time, it must be very late at night.

He hopes that his husband is already in their place in London when he sends his message to him.

To: Husband

Have an hour of idle time for me that won't cost you your sleeping time?

Wonwoo waits for a reply but what comes next is a call.

It's better.

"Babe."

Wonwoo automatically pities his husband when he hears that hoarse and tired voice. How long has he not been sleeping? And how much stress he is enduring right now until the positive Kim Mingyu can be sound so depleted like this?

"You sound terrible, Kim Mingyu. I believe your condition too." Wonwoo is honest with his opinion. And then he remembers that Mingyu hasn't sent him his dinner selfie.

"You haven't sent me the dinner selfie. Where is it? Are you not eating yet?"

Mingyu sounds like he just remembered something important. "Right, sorry, I forgot about it. Damn, those tax officers are so persistent, they annoy me all day and all night until I forget about anything else."

"Ouch." Wonwoo hisses. "I can't believe there is a day that you finally forget about me. Is our marriage already this cold?"

Wonwoo is only playing with Mingyu but Mingyu's panicked voice after that makes the omega feel bad.

"Baby, baby it's not what I mean. Shit, I put my words wrong, It's not like that..."

Mingyu is so stressed until he sounds like he wants to cry just because of that wrong choice of words that Wonwoo didn't take to heart at all. He understands Mingyu very well, he doesn't mean that way, but Mingyu thinks that Wonwoo thinks about his words differently.

"It's okay, Mingyu. I'm only joking, please don't cry." Wonwoo talks in a tone like he just talked to his children. It's true if he said that Kim Mingyu's emotional pillar is no other than Jeon Wonwoo.

"Wonwoo, sorry... I miss you so much I'm going crazy."

The omega nods as if the alpha can see that. "Me too, I miss you so much now I can't sleep if I'm not hugging your clothes. I miss you, I miss your face, I miss your scent, I miss your voice, I miss everything about you. Two more weeks, huh?"

Mingyu remains silent for quite some time until Wonwoo is worried that his big and strong alpha husband is crying on the other side of the world.

"Mingyu? Don't cry. And uh... If it's still not too late, go search for food to eat. I don't want my husband to sleep with an empty stomach... Mingyu? Hello?"

After some time, Wonwoo is finally able to hear Mingyu's voice again. His voice is so thin when he says, "I'd rather eat you, instead."

About that.

Wonwoo remembers his initial plan of contacting his poor, tired and stressed husband.

"I miss being eaten by you too, babe."

"Oh gosh please tell me there are no kids surrounding you!" Mingyu is panicking again and he is rapping his words. Cute . Wonwoo is laughing while undressing his pants and then... to his undies.

"I'm in our bed right now, all alone, the kids are already going to school. For your information, I'm half naked and I'm..." Wonwoo touches his shirt to lift it up and closes his eyes, trying to imagine that Mingyu is here to undress him completely. "Undressing my shirt."

Wonwoo can hear Mingyu gulp, as if he is truly thirsty, then he hears his voice hitch while asking...

"What do you want?"

The omega opens his eyes again and smirks. Even if thousand miles away, it's so easy to hold Kim fucking Mingyu into his grip.

"I don't know, maybe..." Wonwoo intentionally sounds alluring and it makes him hear Mingyu slams something on the other side of the phone. " Maybe.. I want you to go to a private place with no one witnessing you having phone sex with your husband. How is it?"

Wonwoo opens his eyes wider when he sees Mingyu end the call abruptly. The wave of disappointment hits him hard, but his hands are busy . Grabbing things here and there. If Mingyu won't play with him, then he will do it by himself. He is an independent omega after all, just thinking about how Mingyu would undress him if he is in front of him right now makes the omega feel something in the lower part of his stomach.

But the disappointment of playing alone, only lasts for five minutes, because his phone rings again.

And this time it's not a call.

"I like video calls better."

Wonwoo sees his husband who looks like he is sprinting to another place in five minutes and when he notices where he is now, Wonwoo can't help but give him a pity laugh.

He is still at the office and it's already midnight there. Poor him.

"I'm now in my office room, I lock the door and turn off all the CCTV here and I have thirty minutes."

"Oh, dear, I will make sure you will beg for more than thirty minutes." The omega says naughtily while moving his phone so his husband can see him, all of him . And the loud gasp the alpha let out is pretty much predictable to the omega.

Now Mingyu is seeing his fully naked husband spread prettily on the bed where many of his clothes all splattered there, and then...

After their action that night / morning, depending on which side you think of, Mingyu is working more crazily, he even gets more fierce and intimidating to tax officers. His goal in life is much clearer, he will do everything in his power so he can go home a little bit faster than he should. Even faster by minutes, it's already a blessing. He wants to go home, he wants to go home! On the inside he is tantruming like Taeyang whenever his parents didn't allow him to take more chocolate and candies when he was craving it.

He can't handle the feeling of being separated from his little family again, Mingyu is becoming so sensitive because of it.

He misses his lovely smart and mature oldest daughter, though sometimes gives him a headache, he misses seeing his middle son naughtiness and stubbornness (damn, Taeyang is just like a carbon copy of him), he misses his calm and pretty youngest son. He misses his triplets so bad a video call with them every day is not enough. And of course... of course he misses his beloved husband, Jeon Wonwoo.

He misses him so much he becomes another person because of it.

His mood is so foul and he rarely smiles.

Now everyone in his Company sees a new side of him.

It's Mingyu's bad sight and it's all because of the lack of Jeon Wonwoo in his life. And it's been three fucking weeks!

They rarely see this much intimidation from their boss, but these days, three weeks after his family separation, Mingyu has become so intimidating that staying in the same room with him is starting to feel too much. The tax officer, who was so annoying and nosy, has suddenly become so careful, as if walking on thin ice when speaking with Boss Kim Mingyu. And it's a good thing; now they can't ask for nonsense things so easily. Because the Mufasa-like opponent they encountered before has now become a Scar-like one.

Kim Mingyu can become this scary, now everyone has learned about it.

And today, just one day before his birthday, he becoming more scary after he couldn't contact Jeon Wonwoo since early morning (in Korea). He made an attempt to call him repeatedly and the result is not giving him peace of mind. The anxious growing ill and Mingyu really almost wanted to book an early flight to go back home and just leave everything else for his family.

But after almost ten hours of not having any contact with his husband, finally his call is being accepted and he prepares himself to ask what's going on to his husband but the receiver from another side of the world is not like what he was expecting to be.

He calls Wonwoo's number right, but the receiver is not his husband, but his daughter.

"Byul?"

"Papa?"

"Is everything okay? Where's your dad?" Mingyu's world suddenly paused because he felt extremely anxious. Where is Wonwoo? Why is Byul the one answering his call?

"Dad is sick."

And Mingyu hears the loud pang on his heart that makes his heart almost stop beating at that moment.

No...

"Dad is now in the hospital with Uncle Jihoon. Dad forgot to bring his phone and it keeps ringing all day long so I take it for him. Turn out, it's you, Papa."

"Papa will book a flight back now."

"Huh?" Byul sounds confused. "Papa will come back soon? Dad said Papa will be back next week. Dad is okay, Papa doesn't need to rush back. Before leaving us with Grandma, Dad said he just had bad food, he's been vomiting all morning for several days. He needs to check it today. It's okay, Papa will get better like Taeyang and Dalbit did."

Taeyang?

"Taeyang was sick?"

Mingyu leans his body wearily against his chair. It feels like the soul is being drained from his body.

His children and husband are sick and he doesn't know about it, to make it worse he is far away from them.

"Dad is missing you a lot. Byul can feel how hard it is for Dad to not be able to see you. Did Papa miss Dad a lot too? Did Papa miss us too?"

Mingyu's mind is very chaotic until he can't comprehend the words of his daughter very well, he missed the point that his daughter just said that she could feel her Dad's emotion. In his mind right now, he feels like he has failed... as a father and husband .

"Byul, if your Dad is back from hospital, please tell him to call Papa as soon as possible, ok? Papa will search for a way to go home right now."

And with that, Mingyu ends his call with his little princess and becomes pensive for the rest of the day. He asks his secretary and coworkers not to disturb him as he wants to go home early.

Upon arriving at his place, he goes to the balcony and sits there for a long time as his mind rewinds the memory of what happened here.

When he proposed to his husband.

"I'm sorry if i asked too much for you and it's totally okay if you aren't ready for this yet. But I really need to ask you this, because I want you to know how I feel about you, about us, and about our relationship. I know we mate already, we became boyfriend and partner of each other. People said that we are soulmates for each other. But I still wanted us to become something more than that , I want us to become a companionship for this life. That's why I'm proposing to you right now."

Companionship.

How can be a good companion to his husband when he is so busy with work and is being so far away with him till he can't even know that his husband and his children are sick?

Mingyu hangs his head so low as he feels so defeated.

He must do something so things like this won't happen again because, for him, family is everything. Nothing close to the importance of his Star, Sun, and Moon and... his Jeon Wonwoo.

The time is ticking until it's already past midnight and for Mingyu, he even forgets that he is already one year older at the moment. He doesn't know what happened to Wonwoo and his family until the love of his life, his forever partner, his companion, is finally reaching for him when it's already ten in the morning in Mingyu's time zone.

And the alpha already remembers about his birthday by the time his husband calls him because of the never ending messages from his parents, colleagues, and friends who are greeting him a happy birthday. He only read all of it without the intention to reply because he feels so helpless and empty.

Everything doesn't matter right now, only his family.

And then Wonwoo calls, not to tell him about what's happening with their little family when the alpha parent is away, not about the birthday greeting, but something that makes Mingyu shocks in a way that his heart beats either so quickly or so slowly until he can't feel his body anymore.

One second before the news ...

"Mingyu... the doctor said... I'm pregnant."
