A new chapter

The den is filled with yaps and yowls. Jade in now mother to Tanner and River, and Phantom couldn't be prouder. He nuzzles Jade, and she feels that familiar electricity. Her heart pounds.
"I love you, Phantom." Jade says.
"Yuk mom, that's gross!" River chirps.
Phantom snickers. "Ah, pups will by pups." He says.
"Yep." Jade says, cuffing his ear lightly. "Just like you."
"Hey!" Phantom grins, cuffing her back.
"Well if I'm a 'pup', then I suppose you're an old bag of bones, Miss Mature." He says playfully.
"Mom I'm hungry." River yaps.
"I have to mark my scent!" Tanner yowls.
"Not in the den!" Jade scolds as Tanner crouches. Tanner walks stiff-legged outside the den to relieve himself. Pups are such a pawful. But she couldn't be happier. She has a home, a loving mate, and two curious pups. That's all she's ever wanted. She is safe. Her family is safe.
She has a happy life.
