The Panda village
!Trigger Warning!: very graphic, fire, mass murder, read at your own danger!
Quilia was walking from at least a couple of hours, standing next to Canin, the general of Shen's wolf army. She couldn't believe the fact that she was going to actually go and slaughter a village. But if that's what Lord Shen wanted, she had to obey.
If she had to be honest with herself, Canin wasn't bad as a guy. He was actually kind of funny. They chatted and joked practically non-stop during the last hours of marching.
At some point, they started talking about Lord Shen. Canin thought he was a terrible leader, but he was the prince, so he had no choice but to obey him. Quilia, on the other hand, admired him for his ambition and cruelty.
"Tsk, you'll change your opinion as soon as he starts bossing around!" Canin said to Quilia, crossing his arms. He was not wrong, Quilia had to admitt. Shen had been pretty cruel with the soldiers and even with Canin and Quilia.
"Oh, well, I don't care. As long as he lets me use my martial arts as I please, there's no problem for me if he gets a little cruel!" Quilia chuckled, her red buns bouncing on her head as he kept walking next to the wolf.
Canin sighed and continued, crossing his arms: "Ah, well, if you're so chill good for you, but honestly, I..."
He was interrupted by the sharp sound of Lord Shen's sword hitting a rock. Canin and Quilia turned around immediatelly, just to see him on the edge of a precipice, holding his sword up with a determined look on his face. At the bottom of the cliff, you could see a village, with colorful kites flying around in the sky.
"My wolves! - He begun, his voice sounding quite intimidating - This is our target. Remember: you must spare nobody. Doesn't matter if they're a man, a woman or a child. If they are a panda, kill them! Did I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Lord Shen!" The army yelled, together with Quilia and Canin. Quilia was already feeling her heart speed up at the thought of a slaughter. She would never admitt it, but she was so excited to try again to use her tecniques to kill that she thought she was going to faint here and there.
And she didn't give a fuck that it was the most twisted thing in the world.
Lord Shen, apparently satisfied by that response, smirked and continued, securing his sword on his back and turning to Canin: "You, you're going to guide the army down. You will not attack untill you hear my command. And you - he added coldy, turning his gaze to Quilia - are going to come with me. I need somebody able to fly for this part of the mission."
Both Quilia and Canin nodded, saying in perfect synchro: "Yes, Lord Shen." Then Canin stormed away, already calling his wolves and heading to a path that led down the cliff.
Quilia, as ordered, walked towards Lord Shen and, kneeling down, she asked: "What did you need my help for, Lord Shen?"
He, without even looking at her, pulled out a bag and a small box. Inside the box there were those that Quilia recognized as matches. And the bag was full of gunpowder.
Quilia's heart skipped a beat at the realization of what Lord Shen wanted her to do. And some twisted, dark part of her was already counting down the minutes for when he would ask her to do it.
Lord Shen, seeing the spark in her eyes, smirked and crossed his arms behind his back, saying as he looked in front of him: "I'm assuming it's clear to you what your job is. I want you to fly over that village and spread that powder all over. Then you're going to set something on fire. Whatever thing is fine. The rest will happen by itself. Do you understand?"
Quilia nodded, her heart pounding in her chest as she stood up and said, her gaze fixed on the objects in her hands, marveling on how those two little things were about to destroy a whole population: "Yes Lord Shen."
He nodded, satisfied by her response, and then he gestured at her to go. She took a deep breath, then she opened her big, black wings and ran towards the edge of the precipice.
She jumped, feeling her stomach empty as she let herself fall before she started to move her wings, flying up in a very elegant way. Now she was back in her element, nothing could stop her.
She heard a rustling of feathers behind her and she immediatelly turned around, just to see Lord Shen, his wing-tail open and his arms wide, flying towards the village. Quilia noticed how he changed the inclination of his palms to go up and down. She couldn't help but chuckle as she saw him so focused. It was clear he was not a flying guy.
She shook her head, focusing back on her mission, and opened the bag with the gunpowder, flying over the village and starting to throw down handfuls of it. She was too far up in the sky for the villagers to see more than a dot in the sky, but she could hear how the giggling of the children stopped and the village seemed to freeze.
And then she heard a loud, peacock like screech. The signal. She took one match out and lighted it, dropping it where she was. After a few seconds, the match fell on an house.
And it was chaos.
The gunpowder immediatelly took off, making parts of the village blow up. Some houses took fire and some barely survived the explosion. And then came the wolves. Canin's army got to the village and Lord Shen was already slitting throats open.
Quilia smirked and she immediatelly flew down, locking her gaze on a panda guy. He had no chance to defend himself when Quilia's foot hit him straight in the face. She was coming from up, he hadn't even seen her.
Quilia heard a loud crack when the man's head twisted 180 degrees, his nose bleeding and his eyes lifeless. Yes! This is what she wanted to feel! The power, the thrill of holding one's fate in her blood-stained hands!
She immediatelly ran off, jumping on another guy and grabbing his head, twisting his neck. Another crack and another one gone.
One of the men tried to fight back, to stop the moster that was slaughtering them faster than the fire burning their houses. He lunged forward for a punch, but she grabbed his wrist with two finger, in a perfect "snake's twist", charging him on her back and throwing him onto a wall.
She kept killing, kept twisting necks and shoving her sharp nails into stomachs, when he saw a man with short, black hair and white eyes trying to hold back Lord Shen to give time to his wife to run away.
He yelled to his wife, holding an hammer up: "Take our son and run away! Go!" Quilia ran in that direction and, when she glanced at Lord Shen, she locked gaze with him. He unsheeted one of his metal feathers and threw it at her, yelling: "CHASE HER!"
Quilia immediatelly did, holding the feather like a sword. She could hear Canin and a couple other wolves behind her as she followed the woman's footsteps. After a while, she saw her waving, as trying to draw attention to her.
Quilia took it as the perfect chance and she opened her wings wide open as she flew like a rocket towards the woman. She could hear Lord Shen yelling behind her and she kept flying fast, untill she reached the woman and pushed her to the ground.
The woman was immediatelly surrounded by wolves, with Lord Shen standing at the edge of the circle and Quilia looming over the woman. She heard Lord Shen's voice behind her, cold as ice, as he ordered: "Finish her, now."
Quilia's heart skipped a beat at the request, a feral grin spreading on her face as she replied, locking gaze with the terrified panda woman: "With great pleasure, Lord Shen."
She grabbed the sword like a knife and got closer to the woman, who made no move to back up, She just closed her eyes, as if bracing herself for death.
With an eagle-like screech, Quilia stabbed the woman right in the chest. Blood spurted out the wound as soon as she extracted the knife, staining of red Quilia's pristine white judoji and coloring the snow of a macabre crimson.
Quilia heard a rustling of feathers behind her again and she turned around, still grinning. There, in front of her, was Lord Shen, his eyes wide open and his mouth twisted in a grin that mirrored Quilia's own. As her wings were still wide open, Lord Shen's tail was up, the white and red feathery fan behind his back resembling Quilia's kimono in quite a gory way.
And that moment Quilia understood that, at the service of that crazy and bloodthirsty man that was the prince, there wasn't going to be a boring day anymore.
