When A Wild Luffy Appears.
{{A/N: So, I finally caught up to episode 909! Finally!! I am highly amused so far. Anyways, thought I'd do this part very quickly before going to bed! - edit:: I'VE JUST MADE SOME MINOR CHANGES, sorry if this updates twice!}}
"Hawkins?" Kyo's brows furrow at that familiar name as the supernovas all display themselves in her head one by one. If she recalls correctly, Hawkins is the blonde one with an ability that involves cards but sadly, she knows nothing more about him.
"I'll deal with it." Law murmurs sternly, his attention turning toward Bepo, Shachi and Penguin as he exchanges some basic instructions, Kyo merely staring off into space as she sifts through her vague memories.
Hawkins, cards, magician...possibly has the ability to become invisible then...perhaps? No, that has never been stated...but--what does he do?!
"Kyo-ya, stay outside the city gates and out of sight!" Those orders snap her out of her thoughtful gaze, the redhead turning to the captain with a slight frown etched into her features. "I plan to delay Hawkins long enough to stop him from finding out who we are!"
"Oh? And I presume you'll be pulling a disguise out of thin air then?" The girl's tone riddled with sarcasm as her brown orbs instinctively look the surgeon up and down, he has a unique appearance and will certainly stand out amongst any crowd - let alone to another supernova.
"I'll improvise." The raven voices, his teeth gritted together from stress as his golden eyes glance back toward the city entrance. "Stop looking at me like that, I'll be careful."
Of course he doesn't even need to face her to know that Kyo's still staring a hole through his features, despite her best efforts to appear indifferent, her eyes still speak one-hundred words and all of them are linked to fear and worry.
"...You better be." Is all she finally mutters, her hand reaching out to his own as she begins to walk past him, her fingers gently brushing against his knuckles in the process. She acknowledges how they've gone slightly white, indicating that he's gripping onto Kikoku rather tightly, that itself is usually a sign that he's feeling anxious.
This also makes Kyo feel slightly anxious in return.
Be careful, damn it. I can't lose you.
Much to the surgeon's dismay, she doesn't immediately leave when he teleports his way off the rooftop like his crew does, instead she lingers; watching him as he picks up a nearby tengai basket before throwing it over his head.
Naturally the sight just causes the redhead's expression to fall into an emotionless state; her eyes only slightly narrowed and her brows both raised whilst her mouth hangs open in pure shock.
Seriously, Trafalgar?!
A part of her wants to yell down at him for being so reckless, but another part of her wants to see what will happen while he's wearing this disguise, whether it'll really work or not. Her eyes focused solely on the doctor as he stares straight ahead, seemingly avoiding her stare as he raises his hand calmly.
"Shambles."
And just like that, she's relocated outside the gates, seemingly just missing Hawkins and his group but the sound of hooves clanking against the ground indicates that she hasn't missed them by far so subtlety may be best course of action for now.
------
Much to Kyo's surprise and silent relief, the fight between Hawkins and Law wasn't anything major at all, more like Law's version of child's play before he saw an opening to escape.
She had been pacing back and forth while waiting impatiently for some sign of him and/or the Straw Hat crew at the damned city gates as she had been asked (more like forced) to do - which just so happened to come in the form of a giant lion-dog creature running through the streets with a cart containing 'Treasure' attached to it.
Seems the Straw Hat's are already being as lively as ever.
Once in a decent position, she jumped on the lion's back also - having to explain that she's not a threat to a certain purple-haired lady named Okiku in the process.
But now they're finally out of harms way, in a poor part of town and watching the villagers go crazy over the food that the 'treasure' cart contained. Though, she can't necessarily blame them, her own attention keeps drifting to the pile of strawberries that haven't been touched yet while Law bitterly informs Luffy that this is an act of rebellion against Wano.
But, the strawberries will all be gone soon, if she doesn't get to them first.
No. I will not be manipulated by food.
Of course, she reaches for the fruit just as she thinks this to herself regardless, swiftly bringing one of the strawberries to her lips and taking a small bite. It's within that same second she has a taste of heaven, her heart seemingly melting inside her chest as she chews the treat.
"You too, Kyo-ya?!"
Oh...he saw me...
Both the fury and surprise is as clear as day on Law's face when Kyo turns to him. Sure, he knows she's grown more of an appetite lately but he had no idea that she would've let it overwhelm her right now of all times, though she has been avoiding the fish and bad water since they got here so perhaps he shouldn't be too surprised that she caved.
Even when they stole small bundles of good produce from paradise farm, she insisted the others ate their meals before she bothered with her own, leaving her with very little leftovers.
But she claimed that it wasn't a problem and even refused to eat the food that Penguin and Shachi tried to spare for her out of guilt, so Law certainly can't work out why she's so eager now suddenly.
The girl simply wearing a small smile in an attempt to feign innocence as she takes another subtle bite out of the strawberry before lowly humming. "I haven't had these in quite a while. They're my favourite fruit, did you know that?"
Of course, the raven only grumbles a barely-coherent 'no' under his breath, the look of complete and utter frustrated dominating his features and only causing Kyo to raise a studious brow.
"You'll make your teeth hurt if you keep gritting them like that, Trafalgar."
Naturally, the doctor only grumbles again.
And to think that just a few hours ago, he was in quite a pleasant mood...
"Yosh, we can't cause any trouble! Okay, guys?!" Luffy's voice booms from nowhere and suddenly, Law's face darkens as his attention snaps toward the younger boy, it's honestly a miracle how the surgeon didn't break his own neck with how quickly his head turned.
"YOU'RE THE TROUBLEMAKER HERE!!"
The only thing that stops Kyo from snickering and angering the already-pissed-off surgeon even more is the rest of her strawberry, the girl using the red fruit to hide her slight smirk as she turns her face in the opposing direction, acting as if she's intrigued by the sight of the poorer part of Wano.
Thankfully, Law moves swiftly onto telling Luffy that they must now make their way to Oden's old castle, giving the redhead a chance to swiftly pull herself together before they get on the back of the strange lion-dog creature again, ready to go.
Though, the town's people delay the efforts to leave momentarily by singing Luffy's praises for bringing them some much-needed food, something that has Law scowling all the more.
"Pirates shouldn't do such good things." The tattooed captain grumbles to himself, drawing in Kyo's gaze as a curious hum rumbles in her throat. "It makes me feel sick."
"Oh? Correct me if I'm mistaken, Trafalgar, but didn't you save all those poor children from that highly-addictive drug back on Punk Hazard?" Kyo calmly teases, her index finger running along the golden-hooped earrings in Law's left ear idly as she smiles up at the raven.
"Hmph. I didn't have a choice." Law grumpily mutters, his grip tightening ever so slightly around his nodachi as his eyes trial off to the side, a very vague blush dusting his cheeks.
"Mhm. So modest."

{{AbyssCronica actually gave me the brilliant idea of having Kyo react briefly to Law's disguise before being teleported away so a big thank you to you, queen!}}
