When They First Allied.
"My heart? What on earth would you want with that?"
Of course, Kyo's question isn't answered with words but rather the sight of the supernova before her unsheathing his nodachi, a smirk plastered across his face.
Not much of a talker, I see.
Pinching her bottom lip between her teeth, she abruptly reaches for her own weapon.
"Very well, if you win this fight then you get my heart. But, if I win...I want that hoodie." The redhead smirks vaguely as she eyeballs the man's clothing, little to her knowledge she actually manages to confuse the doctor.
What would she want with his hoodie? It has his jolly roger on it, what need would she have for that? But whatever the reason, Law decides that it doesn't even matter, he doesn't plan to lose.
"Just stay still, Hood-ya. This procedure will be quick and mostly painless."
"Hood-ya? What an interesting name." She responds leisurely, it's clear that he just referred to her as such because she's wearing a hood so not even giving it a second thought, she lunges at the sadistic surgeon before he has a chance to react with her dagger at the ready but something odd occurs - just as her blade touches him, Trafalgar vanishes, being replaced with a thick piece of wood.
Within a split of a second, her weapon is embedded into the wood. It's when her eyes adjust to her new surroundings, she realizes that it's a doorframe leading into the village's local bar, many of the civilians have run away at the mere sight of the supernova so at least there's nobody in harms way but it still puzzles her.
She was stood a short distance away from this building, how did she get here?
What was his power again? On Sabaody, didn't he control metal? No, no, that was Eustass! This guy...
Taking a glance back into her previous direction, she notices Law stood where she was before, a smirk still playing on his lips. "You took a marine's head..." She mutters as the memory from Sabaody flashes in her mind, she notices Law feign a look of confusion before his smug expression returns, watching as she helplessly tries to pry her dagger out of the doorway's wood.
Damn it! He can teleport things!
Her irritation only begins to rise when she notices the doctor's smirk widen, his eyes scanning her as she tugs on the dagger, still unable to rip it from the wood.
"Quit toying with me!"
Almost as if he was complying to her request, the surgeon slashes the air a couple of times, leading Kyo to abandon her task of trying to get her dagger back, she knows all too well what's coming next.
Swiftly shifting away from the building as several slits blister the wood. Her only defence now is relying on her devil fruit, twisting her wrist slightly, she causes blood to rise up around the surgeon's ankles before attempting to grab Law's legs with her powers and prevent his movement but as she should have probably expected, he teleports out of the hold.
Out of instinct, she then spins around, throwing a punch at the space behind her and as expected - that's where he had teleported but his reflexes and strength outmatch hers greatly and he manages to catch her wrist mid-swing, the smirk on his face now wavering slightly.
"You control blood?"
"I might! What's it to you, you teleporting bastard?!" The girl blurts out all at once, trying (and failing) to pull her wrist free from Law's grasp.
What exactly is this man?
She has fought many pirates over the years, many marines too, but this is the first time that an enemy has managed to humiliate her to this extent in combat.
Even getting her ass handed to her by her father at Marineford wasn't this embarrassing, this 'fight' must have lasted 30 seconds at the most, it's utterly mortifying. If Mihawk saw this, she would have been disowned on the spot, she's sure of that much.
The surgeon is merely staring down at her, connecting the dots and completely ignoring her protests as his mind works away at the possible outcomes. He had planned to just take the criminal's heart, add it to the collection to give to the marines and be done with it but if she controls blood, maybe she could be useful to him when his crew is hurt and bleeding out - she could keep the blood flowing in their veins until they're able to receive proper medical care.
"Yes. You'll be useful, Hood-ya."
"I beg your pardon?" The girl voices lowly, her brows knitted together as she stares up at the surgeon quizzically and then suddenly the dark thoughts begin to creep into her mind, everything her father told her to avoid. "I will not be 'useful' to you, you pervert! Get the hell off of me! If I don't manage to kick your ass, my father sure as hell will!"
"Oh, is that right? Who might your father be, Hood-ya?"
"Dracule Mihawk! And my name is Kyo, not Hood-ya!" That response causes the supernova to frown a little, he isn't necessarily scared of the pale swordsman but a man like that is probably best left avoided. However, Law also knows that this girl has been known to side with pirates before so maybe she'll choose to ally with him after a bit of convincing.
Well, it's certainly true that they could have met under better circumstances and that he could have worded his plans for her a little clearer but, what's done is done and he highly doubts she'll hear him out willingly so...
"Mes."
A bit of force may be necessary for the time being.
