Tendo and Aurora's Valentine experience.
(I'm back with more! Yay! There are going to be three chapters I will be releasing. So keep your eye out for them!)
Tendo's part
I raced home as fast as my leafeon legs could carry me. I had to tell Constan about this, cause it may be vital to future events.
It took a few minutes, and by that time I was exhausted from running for so darn long. I panted as I walked up to the door, and opened it. "I'm... h... oh you get it."
I stumbled to the couch, but didn't make it before I fell onto my back on the floor.
I breathed heavily. 'Where is Constan? I don't wanna move, just... come out here Constan!' I thought.
I laid on the floor for a good couple minutes; catching my breath. Sure enough, Constan rounded the corner, and saw me. "Oh, hey Tendo. What happened, did you try to play sports?"
I laughed half-heartedly. "Ha ha very funny. No, I ran all the way home to tell you something that happened at school today."
Constan stared at me for a few seconds, and then rolled his eyes. "I don't wanna hear how you aced a test, or how Aurora had more guys flirting with her, and you saved the day... AGAIN. Which, by the way was totally a lie."
I sat up. "Pfft. I don't lie about saving the day. No, not that. It doesn't have anything to do with a test or Aurora. Well... I suppose I take that last one back cause it may have to do with Aurora."
Constan sighed, and sat down in front of me. "Ok, tell me quickly. I'm busy."
I looked around to make sure no one was eaves-dropping. I probably got a fearful look on my face right before I said it. "At school... I'm pretty sure that... a girl flirted with me."
Constan burst out laughing, and fell onto his back. "Hahaha! What?! That's impossible!"
I glared at him. "Shut up! It can happen. It did today!"
Constan wiped a tear from his eye. "Ok, ok. Who was it and what did they do?"
I exhaled. "It was Sally the Snivy."
Constan's eyes widened. "Sally? She's a popular girl! Why would she flirt with you? You two aren't even the same kind of pokemon!"
Tendo nodded. "I know right? It came as a surprise to me too!"
Constan put his paw to his chin. "I wonder if you two could even breed..."
Tendo blushed madly, and smacked Constan's arm. "Dude! Don't... don't even think about that!"
Constan looked at Tendo seriously. "Ok, now tell me what she did that counts as flirting to you. Try and remember it as vividly as possible. I want to know every detail."
Tendo nodded, and remembered back to earlier that day. "It was in between classes. After the lunch break..."
(Flashback)
I went to my locker that was lower down to the ground, so I could grab my science books for chemistry. I really liked chemistry. Maybe I should use that joke on Aurora...
'Hey Aurora, do you know what science is? Cause I think you and I have some real chemistry between us...'
I shook my head. "No way. Too dumb." I then ended up thinking about how to use that phrase properly.
I didn't notice when a pokemon had walked up behind me, until they tapped my shoulder.
I turned around, and pushed away the thoughts of Aurora for now. "Yes?"
It was Sally the Snivy. She was a more popular girl, and tended to not mingle with average pokemon like me.
Sally smiled. "Hi."
I blinked. "Uh, hello. You're Sally right?"
She nodded.
I looked her over. "Then... what are you doing here with me? I thought you didn't like to be with guys like me."
She shrugged. "Sometimes. But... I don't care this time."
I titled my head. "Why not this time?"
She looked down at the ground and shifted her foot slightly; it made her look like she was... like she was shy.
"Well... I just thought I would ask you if you wanted to... maybe be my study partner for a chemistry project?" She asked.
I blinked, and nodded. "Ok. I don't have anyone yet, so that would be fine."
She stopped shifting her foot, and smiled brightly. "Yay!"
I snickered, and turned to my locker again. "Alright, well if that was all..."
"Yep! And I'll see you in class, mkay?" I then felt her lightly touch the very tip of my tail, inducing a blush from me, and a look at her as she skipped away.
(Flashback end)
Constan leaned back. "Woah."
I was on the verge of panicking. "I know! Now what do I do? Obviously I'm going to be with Aurora, but Valentines Day is coming up, and if Sally comes to me and asks..."
Constan pondered the situation. "Ok. Well, just say that you have a girlfriend."
I inhaled sharply. "It sounds easier than it is! What if she cries, or gets angry? What then?"
Constan smacked my face. "Calm down."
I glared at him. "How is THAT supposed to calm me down?!"
Constan shrugged. "I thought I would try. Relax Tendo. All ya have to do, is stick with Aurora. Even better idea: tell Aurora what is going on, and let her go with you to tell Sally."
I looked at the floor. "Ok, maybe... I don't know. What if Aurora gets mad at me for this?"
Constan sighed. "You are thinking worst case scenario ya know. Just tell her. She's very forgiving." With that Constan got up and left me to decide what to do.
(6 days before Valentines Day)
I was at my locker right as school was beginning. But I couldn't relax when Sally might be right behind me.
I felt a tap on my shoulder, and my eye twitched as I knew that Sally must be right behind me.
I turned around, ready to face her. But instead, it was Cindi.
Cindi smirked. "You look pale. What? Am I that scary to you?"
I breathed a sigh of relief. "No, you're not. I just... was expecting someone else. But I'm glad it was you instead."
Cindi tilted her head. "Who were you expecting? Constan? Not Aurora, you know she doesn't go to this school."
I nodded. I know, I was expecting... oh never mind."
Cindi narrowed her eyes. "Don't you never mind me. I won't accept that. Tell me who you were expecting, or I'll dump moomoo milk all over you on lunch break."
I stepped back from her, and sighed. "Ok. Just don't pour milk on me please."
Cindi nodded. "I won't if I am satisfied with the answer."
"Ok. I was expecting... um... Sally..."
Cindi's narrowed gaze became widened eyes. "Sally? Why her?"
I looked to the side. "Oh ya know... she flirted with me two days ago..."
Cindi's mouth drifted open. "What?"
I looked at Cindi. "Yeah... but please don't tell anyone. Especially not Aurora! I don't want her to think of my as a low-life, shallow creep."
Cindi looked to the left, then to the right, then at me. "Why did she flirt with you?"
I shook my head. "I don't know! I wish I did though..."
Cindi blinked. "Yeah cause I saw her flirt with two other guys yesterday..."
I looked at Cindi; completely focused on her now. "What..?"
Cindi smirked. "Yeah. I was eaves-dropping, ya know how ya do, when I overheard her flirt with two nerdy, geeky guys. A squirtle, and a heliotoptile."
I blinked many times; still trying to get everything she was saying. "She flirted... with other nerds?"
Cindi nodded. "Yeah. I guess she just likes being a tease with them. I doubt she'll ever actually go out with any of them."
I looked down as it all came to me. "So... I don't have to worry anymore huh?"
Cindi shook her head. "Nope."
I looked up at Cindi. "That makes me both happy... and a little sad at the same time. Happy it's over, but sad that she didn't actually want to be around me..."
Cindi gave me a slightly sympathetic look. "Yeah. She's just a jerk though. I like to hang out with you. You're Constan's brother after all."
I looked down again, and Cindi smirked and bumped my shoulder. "Hey cheer up! I'm joking. You're a nice guy, and fun to be around."
I shrugged. "Yeah... I guess..."
Cindi was silent for a second, but then lifted my chin up. "Alright. Ya know what? If you want, I can help you get Aurora something for Valentines Day later. I don't like shopping very much, but I'll help you out. We girls all know what each other want."
I smiled. "Really? You would do that?"
She smirked. "Of course. You're my friend. And Constan's brother. I've got to get in good with you to impress him."
I stare at her in disbelief for a couple seconds. She then laughed. "Joking!"
I chuckled. "Alright. But you're in good with me anyway. And, I suppose I'll help you get Constan something too. I know what he likes. And I want mess around either; I'll be serious."
She nodded. "It's a deal."
I wasn't upset about Sally anymore. They will be both guys and girls like that. But, I knew Aurora was the right one for me. She wouldn't do what Sally did. She's a great girl, and the only one I love.
Maybe even call it true love; the chemistry we have.
Alright, that one was a bit better, but still not good enough. I'll keep working on it...
Aurora's part
(4 days before Valentines Day)
I was going to get something for everyone I knew for Valentines Day. Because no one deserves to be alone, and get nothing.
There is someone out there for everyone.
I was at home; making cards. It was sort of a tradition we had. My family and I made Valentines Day cards for all the people we knew, so we could show our love for everyone around us.
I had finished cards for Yeper, Constan, Cindi, Tendo's mother, my daddy, my grandma, my cousin Vanessa, and all my friends.
The only one left was Tendo.
I hadn't done his yet, because I saved it for last. I wanted to write down a super nice message, so I could show him how much I love him.
But, it was hard to think of the perfect message.
I had tried lots of different ways to begin it.
"Dear Tendo... no, no, no. That sounds like he's my friend or family." I was saying. "How about, dear 'my one true love'? No... I don't want him to faint. Hehe. Hmm..."
And it went on for a long time.
I just decided to finish everyone else's cards first, because they were easier. Just friendly, or nice sayings for my family. Except my daddy and grandma. They got extra-special cards.
I just wanted to hurry with the card. Because I didn't want to forget about it later, and have it be too late.
I was sure he would get something for me. I would guess chocolates, or flowers as guys normally do.
I already was getting him other things besides the card. Like a picture of us together in a heart-shaped frame, and a scarf I knit for him myself. It was dark brown, and had a little love note stitched in. I wanted it to look nice on him and not be too flashy.
I folded the card back up, and left it on the table. "Maybe the right words will come to me." I said. I then used my ribbons to grab all the other cards, and bring them upstairs to show daddy.
Except his card. (I hid that one for him to find on Valentines Day.)
(Valentines Day evening)
I was meeting Tendo at his house, and we were going for a walk.
It was a little cold outside, so I had on a little light-pink coat that covered me halfway.
I didn't know why we were going out on such a cold evening. And it was dark already. Maybe, he wanted to talk about a big step in our relationship? Maybe... he wanted to transfer to my school!
Oh no, no, no. I'm getting to excited. It's probably just a romantic walk. I would love that!
He opened the door, and came outside wearing a green jacket. He smiled. "Ready to go?"
I nodded, and he closed the door.
"I let my mom know that we would be out for a while." He told me. "So she won't worry about us."
I smiled. "Ok." I held the box of the stuff I was getting him close to my side while we walked along.
After a little bit of walking, Tendo stopped in front of me. "Ok, now close your eyes, and no peeking!"
I did so, and tried not to show my excitement. He planned something for me!
He led me with my eyes closed for a while longer, until I felt my paws touch something soft.
We stopped walking. "Ok, open them." He said.
I slowly opened my eyes, and I saw... we were at the grove! The place I had showed Tendo a long while ago! And there was a blanket with picnic supplies, and candles everywhere... ah! He made all this for me?
I looked at him with a blank face. "It's... ok."
His eyes widened. "Wait what? Oh no, I-I thought..."
I smiled wide, and rubbed his cheek with mine. "I'm kidding! I love it!"
He exhaled in relief, and smiled. "Oh thank goodness. I'm so glad you like it. I got your favorite pokepuffs, with some scented candles, and some chocolates for dessert..."
I giggled, and a ribbon loosely wrapped around one of his legs. "Thank you so much Tendo. I am so happy right now to be with you."
He blushed a light pink, and chuckled his nervous chuckle. "O-ok... let's sit down shall we?"
We both sat in the center of the blanket, and he began arranging the pokepuffs, while I sniffed a candle.
"Mmm... this smells really nice. What is this scent called?" I asked him.
He blushed a deep red. "Um... lavender l-love..."
I giggled at his answer. "That's very lovely. You're so sweet." I leaned against his side gently.
He smiled warmly, and picked up a pokepuff. "Want a pokepuff?"
I nodded slightly, and he gently placed it in my mouth. He was feeding me now! I felt like a queen. It may have been cold outside, but being next to him with this candlelit picnic under the stars made me feel so warm inside.
After a couple more pokepuffs, Tendo spoke up, "Hey Aurora?"
I sat up and looked at him. "Yes Tendo?"
He faced me with a light blush. "So... how do you like this setup?"
I smiled brightly. "I love it. But not as much as I love you."
I saw the blush deepen slightly on his face. "Well... uh... I have one more surprise for you."
I knew what was coming, and I invited it completely. "And what's that?"
And, at the same time, we both leaned in and kissed.
Best Valentines Day ever!
