Beloved.
3rd Person POV {the rest of the story will be in 3rd POV!}
The cats gather to discuss the situation at hand. Crowfeather stole a glance at the medicine cat as she and her ginger sister came over with a few mice to satisfy their collective hunger.
"So, we seem to be a bit of a predicament. Crowfeather wishes to continue our journey to the Sun Drown Place. However, you seem in need of me back in ThunderClan. Although, if I go back, I don't think I'll ever forgive myself for abandoning Crowfeather a second time," Leafpool stated, choking over her own words as she ran that scenario through her mind.
Crowfeather wrapped his tail around the upset she cat, quietly whispering comforting words just loud enough that only Leafpool could hear.
"I wanted and still want a life with Crowfeather. Kits and playtime. Cuddles and watching them grow. However, I can't if I return to the clans, as I am ThunderClan medicine cat and Crowfeather is a warrior of WindClan. It's forbidden..." Leafpool continues to say, not making eye contact with any of the cats around her.
"Leafpool, I..." Squirrelflight started, before cutting herself off. She glanced back at Brambleclaw, who was oddly quiet through this whole ordeal.
Silence laced over the 4 cats as the sun began to set. Brambleclaw broke the silence as an idea popped into his mind.
"Alright, here's the deal. We will sleep on this situation and decide in the morning. It has been a long day for all of us and it is far too late to discuss this right now,"Brambleclaw stated with authority.
The other three agreed and went their separate ways. The brown tabby she cat padded over to the makeshift den she had made the night before to provide shelter. Her amber eyes shown the indecisiveness she was feeling. She as torn. Should she stay loyal to her clan or to her heart? Leafpool knew it sounded extremely cliché, but she couldn't help the way she felt. She loved Crowfeather and desperately wanted to make him happy as well as herself. However, she remembered her sister, parents, friends, and clanmates that loved, respected, and relied on her. She left them without considering the consequences. She believed she was above consequences, but she wasn't. With her choice to elope with Crowfeather, the consequence is that her clan and clanmates will suffer with her not being there. She sighed as she tried to rack her brain for a compromise. She glanced over to her nest. She settled down into the soft straw. As she was drifting asleep, a shadow appeared over her.
"Crowfeather..." she mumbled, her distress and exhaustion lacing her voice.
"Hush beloved," the raven black tom said with a soothing tone of voice. Leafpool felt the piercing outside shell Crowfeather usually wore, melt away as she noticed his usage of the word "beloved" as a replacement for her name. It gave a sense of affection and made her heart flutter.
Their gazes locked, amber meeting ice blue. He gave her a soft smile before curling up right next her, his tail wrapping around her.
"Crowfeather... I don't what to do," Leafpool murmured to the tom.
"Don't think of that now. Just sleep and it will all be fine. I promise."
A/N
Yes! Finally another update for this book! I have gotten so many nice comments about this book and it just warms my heart that people care for this book! I really and truly appreciate every comment, vote, and read. Thank you to all of you who have supported this book and will continue to support it. I have also started to format these differently. I am making longer with a few more hundred words and changing the writing style. As I said at the beginning of this chapter, the rest of the book will be in third person as I feel it is more professional and easier to write. I am planning on finishing this book soon. Preferably before the end of my school year in May, 2019. Once again, I really appreciate each and everyone of you!
Love you, Icey. ❄️
