"... and so I said snow problem and-" Sans stopped in the middle of his story.

"...What...?"

"where's the map."

"The map? Oh! The map! It should be right-" You reached into the pockets of the skeleton's jacket, searching among all the gold for a peice of paper.

...nothing...

...nope, that's the dog bone...

...why does he even have that romance book?...

...I...

"I can't find it." You announced in defeat, throwing your arms up into the air.

"i knew it..." Sans whispered to himself.

"Wha... what do you mean?" You inquired.

"we must've left it back at tula's"

"Oh... well there isn't any way I'm going back there."

"heh, i guess i know how frisk felt..."

"What?"

"nothing... anyway it's getting dark."

"What do you mea-oh." You looked around, just now realizing how dark it was. "Well, sense we're not going to get to the inn any time soon, we'd better set up camp or something."

"yeah, that sounds good." Sans responded.

After a while of walking, you both found a wide clearing. It looked a little like the one where you met Flowey, minus the flowers.

Reaching into Sans' jacket, you pulled out a tent.

Is there anything that Sans didn't put in here?!

You dug further, and found a bunch of pillows, blankets, and even a blow-up mattress.

I guess not...

One you had set everything up, including having Sans cut down wood (with magic, of course) for a fire, you searched through the jacket for a match.

"...Seriously!?"

"what?"

"You have a freaking tent in this thing, but you don't have a simple match!? How can we start a fire without a match!? We can't, that's how!"

"don't you know how to do it cave-man style or somethin'?" Sans lazily asked, while plopping down on a bean-bag.

"NO! I... I never learned it..."

"same. hey, what's tha-"

"No." You interrupted him in the middle of the cursed phrase.

"what?" He asked, completely oblivious as to why you said "no", suddenly.

"Whenever you say that, crap comes." You responded.

"but, i see a li-"

"Nope."

"but-"

"Nah-uh."

"seriously, lo-"

"Fine, you win! Let's have bad luck again..." You grumbled as you turned your head to where he was pointing. The was a far off glow from.. somewhere.

"Whoever they are, they must have some kind of way to make fire!" You claimed. "Let's go!"

With those two words, the complaining skeleton and the running human went off, once again doing their odd (and slightly entertaining) shenanigan. Once you finally got to the source of the light, you found....

A cave...?

Surronding the cave was a moat of water, and cooking sounds came from within the cave.

"Oh oh oh! I know this part!" You squeeled, jumping up and down, up and down, up and...

. . .

...Oh! Sorry, I fell asleep.

Anyway, where was I?

Oh, right...

"what 'part'?" Sans asked.

"Look!" You responded, pointing towards a sign. On the sign, it said-

Only those that have faith can walk the path.

"what in the underground is that supposed to mean?" Sans asked.

"Well," you responded, "it's called a leap of faith. There's a bridge there, we just can't see it."

"are you kidding me?"

"Nope."

"well, i can just teleport, so..." Sans snaps his fingers, thinking about the other side.

...

Nothing happened.

"Welp, looks like that won't work." You pointed out childishly, while Sans silently cursed himself.

"Oh, come on, it's not that bad..." you said. "Here. You go first."

"how do you know there's actually a bridge, though!"

"Magic. No, wait, sorry, Sherlock, the sign, duh."

"oh, hahaha." Sans sarcastically said, as he faced the "bridge". Sticking one slipper far out, he seted his foot down, expecting to fall, and teleport back.

He steps...

On thin air.

"See? I told you so!"

"...woa. how am i flying?" He said, phased by the invisible bridge.

"It doesn't matter, bonehead, what matters is that I was right!" You yell, as you run across the invisible bridge.

Sans sighs and runs after you. now i really can't teleport. He whines in his mind.

Once you both get to the end, you're met before a grand cave. Incide, a man with an apron, a frying pan in his hand for absolutely no reason, and a kind smile appears before you. He's pulling out a quiche from his oven that's obviously hand-lit. There's a crop of chickens, spinach, wheat, a cow, and a bunch of pigs.

"Ah! Hello!" He greats you, tending to his crop of spinach. How could it even grow in a cave...?

"Uhm... hi?" You said, obviously confused. You shook off the thought and remembered why you were here. "Uhh... we're looking for a match? Would you happen to have one...?"

"Why, yes of course!" The man pulls out a match from the pocket in his apron.

"Thanks." You responded, making your way back out.

The moat was pretty long, and Sans was not the fastest runner. He was almost at the cave when you came out.

"...you got the match...?" He panted.

"Yep! And boy, is that place weird. There's a chicken crop, a cow, a spinach crop... almost as if he's bound on making quiches all the time."

"heh. reminds me of an abandoned one i saw one time... anyway, let's get back." Sans said, expecting you to run again.

You didn't, though. You just kept walking, along with a surprised but happy skeleton alongside you.

You kept walking, talking, punning...? until you got back to the camp-thingy.

The match worked perfectly, and you cuddled up next to the fire.

Sans, on the other hand...

"Sans? Why aren't you near the fire? It's cold, you know."

"meh, i don't really get cold." Sans said, folding his arms.

"Whatever you say..." you drifted off, looking back at the warm fire.

Then there was silence. Not the awkward kind, but pleasant. Serene, almost. After a while, it grew boring, though. So you "struck up" a conversation. (Get it? The match? Oh, forget it...)

"Hey, you said you live in Snowdin, right? Where is that exactly? Near here?"

To this remark, Sans laughed.

"What!?"

"oh, it's nothing..." He managed to spew out, while in his laughter fit. "unless you live in the underground, then yeah, sure."

"'The Underground'...?" You questioned.

"yeah, the underground. you see, long ago man and monster went to war. that's what i am, by the way. a 'monster'. anyway, the humans were victorious, and sealed us underground with a magical barrier." Sans explained, while subconsciously edging his way towards the fire.

"Oh! So you've got like a little realm underground or something...?"

"kinda, yeah. humans fall down every once in a while, and we've gathered six souls so far." Sans thoight for a while. "oh, yeah, our king, asgore(<-- Insert red lettering here.), swore to gather seven human souls to break the barrier. his wife left him because of that."

"Dang, savage." You naturally responded.

"what?" Sans asked, obviously confused.

"Oh, nothing..." you said, rolling your eyes with a smirk.

"well, anyway..." Sans continued, "the underground is separated into different parts. the ruins, the snowy forest, waterfall, hotland, the core, and the castle. i live in a small town in the snowy forest, called snowdin-"

"Is that a pun?" You interrupted.

"yep. one of the reasons why i cho-love the place." Sans responded. "anyway, that's basically the underground."

"Cool!" You said, unintentionally making a pun. Sans brought up little finger-guns, pointing at you with a smug face.

To this, you facepalmed.

Sans chuckled at the common behavior, and settled back down near the fire. You both gazed into the heart of the fire, until finally falling asleep in comfort and warmth...

<○●•°《DREAM... START!》°•●○>~

"so... this 'undertale' thing... is it good?" Sans asked.

"Yes! Yes, it's absolutely amazing! In fact, it's probably one of my favorite games!" I responded, excited at the subject.

It's absolutely true. I love the game! There are obviously some parts that are not so great, but for the most part, I'm complete trash about it.

And if there's anything better than the thing that the fanbase was based upon? It's the actual fandom.

But, I can't tell Sans everything, that would be absurd! I'll keep it in for now...

<○●•°《DREAM... END!》°•●○>~

You woke up in a cold sweat. What was that!? And I thought the dream of being Sans was weird... You thought. Pulling together your thoughts, you realized the position you were in.

You had fallen asleep on Sans.

You're head was on his shoulder, his jacket wrapped around you like a blanket, and his head on your's.

You started to panic. This can't be good!! When he wakes up, first off, it's gonna be awkward, but also he's gonna strike up the friendly conversation "How'd you sleep?"! And I'll have to lie, of course! You rambled incide your brain. After a few minutes, you managed to pull your common sense back into your brain.

Was he awake...?

You looked over towards his chest, looking for breathing.

Sure enough, his chest was slightly moving.

You looked up to a smirking skeleton.

"has anyone ever told you how cute you look when your flustered?"

The comment sent heat rushing up towards your face. Did he just call me cute...?

"well, don't make the cuteness worse!!"

Blushing intesifies.

Sans continued to tease you, making puns here and there, and after a while it got old.

So you decided to get back at him.

"Well, if I'm so 'cute' when I'm flustered, how cute does that make you when you're flustered?"

Sans laughed. "was that supposed to be a comeback or a flirt?"

"Both?"

You continued this new routine, talking, kinda flirting... is it called punning? I don't know... anyway, you kept bantering until dark.

You fell asleep in the same format, and the cycle continued. You forgot completely about the dream. Probably for the best, too...

<○●•°《Le Time Skipu Brought to You by MTTs Apathy for Privacy》°•●○>~

It was around mid-day when you and Sans were in a ginormous laughing-fit. After managing to die down your laughter, you thought about how long you've been there with him.

"Sans?" You asked, serious.

"yeah?" Sans managed to respond, still kinda laughing.

"How long have we been here?"

He stopped laughing. It was an appropriate question, but it had no answer. He shrugged, and tried to continue the banter.

"Sans!" You shouted.

Sans snapped out of it, and seemed to smell something. He looked over towards the fire.

It had stayed the same, still going, for all that time.

"Well, that should go." You said, no longer serious all of the sudden. You grabbed the jacket, pulled out a full bucket of ice water, and throwed it on.

Suddenly, a wave of air appeared from no where. It slightly blew across you, and the playfull manner incide you left.

"What was that!?" You blurted to no one in particular.

"it must've been the fire... making us stay here. that guy must have it, forcing him to stay. toriel has one, too. poor woman..."

"Well, we have to help him!" You said, trying to run off.

Key word- "trying".

The familiar blue arura surronded you, not letting you move.

"later. for now, we have to stick to the plan."

"What plan?"

"you know, get to the inn? seek for help in finding frisk?"

"Oh, yeaahh..." Truth was, you and Sans never talked about a plan. But, it seemed like a pretty good one.

Sans let go of you, and the blue arura dissappeared.

Stumbling fowards a bit, you caught yourself and motioned for Sans to follow you. He shurgged, and did as you motioned.

The two of you started to walk through the still snowy forest, and after a while, started up the bantering again. It was almost as if the whole fire-thing had never happened.

Along with the dream...
