The Future of Scarlet & Violet

The big thing going on on Scarlet & Violet is that Time Travel is possible and why we have so many Paradox Pokemon such as Miraidon & Koraidon. Atleast two DLCs were announced for Scarlet & Violet already and what they'll be about as well. The DLCs will introduce two new Paradox forms to series: One for the Swords of Justice and one for the Legendary Dog Trio.

So what do I think will go on within the Scarlet & Violet DLCs? Read on and you'll find out.

1. Bringing Back Fossil Pokemon

One HUGE thing almost the entire fanbase had noticed about the Scarlet Violet games was the absence of Fossil Pokemon. You might be thinking 'why would the absence of Fossil Pokemon be such a big deal?' and trust me, it's a HUGE deal that they're missing. In Pokemon Scarlet, they introduced Pokemon from the distant past such as Koraidon, Flutter Mane & Great Tusk. Scarlet also featured Hisuian form Pokemon of which Hisuian Form Pokemon ARE extinct as of the current timeline. The importance of the Great Crater in Paldea is that this area in Paldea is forever stuck in time. Nothing within this area ages and anyone or anything here could realistically live thousands of years. If the Crater defies the laws of Time AS WELL AS has extinct Pokemon, so where are the Fossil Pokemon? Realistically, Fossil Pokemon would still be around considering that the Crater was formed 1000 Years ago in Pokemon time. IF the Professor's time machine was actively pulling Pokemon from the past to the present then Fossil Pokemon would no doubtedly roam the Crater ESPECIALLY if some of the Paradox Pokemon ARE considered Dinosaurs by their Pokedex entry: specifically Flutter Mane & Koraidon. Either Pokemon completely missed out on the opportunity to incorporate Fossil Pokemon into the game without the need to revive fossils OR Pokemon specifically kept the Fossil Pokemon out of the game and plan to bring them back in the DLC.

2. The Pokemon War

A theory that I witnessed on Tiktok, and most of the fanbase agrees on, is that the Crater was a result of AZ from the Pokemon X & Y titles. AZ is an immortal man who created a Weapon to end the Pokemon war. This Weapon saps the energy from living organisms and can kill just as easily as it can give life. Kalos is based on France and is canonically located next to Paldea. It isn't a stretch at all to think that AZ's weapon was fired into Paldea especially considering the sheer amount of ruins located across Paldea AS WELL AS the weird time defying properties of the Crater as time seems to not flow at all within the Crater. Anything hit by the weapon, that doesn't die, no longer ages. Hence why the Crater is able to home many many extinct Pokemon despite how they'd be dead anywhere else in the world. If you look at the in game image of when the Ultimate Weapon was fired off, where the attack landed created a Crater. This Crater and landing sight of the weapon attack could very well be Area Zero/The Great Crater of Paldea. I feel the DLCs will go over the Pokemon War as well as why the Crater defies the laws of Time.

3. Where the Treasures of Ruin Pokemon Fit In

The 4 Treasures of Ruin Legendary Pokemon, the ones that you had to locate the door they're locked within then locate the keys/stakes located all over Paldea in order to open them, are rumored to be the Pokemon equivalent to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and play a MUCH bigger role than we're already aware of. We don't know much about these guys as of now besides them being the four Treasures of the late King of Paldea. Due to the King's strong selfish desires to keep the Treasures for himself, the bitter malice towards his subjects & warfare that accompanied these treasures resulted in the treasures developing entire souls & Personalities/The monstrous appearance we know them as now. We KNOW they're gonna play a giant role somewhere within the DLCs considering each Legendary is represented by a symbol and these symbols are present within the logo of the Scarlet & Violet games as well as the symbols being present within a secret location/cave within the Crater yet we still don't know what the symbols themselves mean. There's already been HUGE indications that the Pokemon War took place in Paldea from having close relations to Kalos, the ruins all over Paldea, the time defying properties of the Crater similar to that of AZ's weapon AND NOW we have the Four Horsemen Legendaries. Chien-Pao is the Horseman of War because it's represented as a sword & predator, Wo-Chien is the Horseman of Famine because it's a snail(snails arw pests for farmers) that kills/saps the life out of any plants within its radius, Chi-Yu is the Horseman of Conquest that jumpstarted the war and Ting-Lu is the Horseman of Death because of the ritualistic nature of the vessel on its head.
I can't wait to learn more about these four legendaries!!!

4. Paradox Swords of Justice

Although, according to dataminers and leakers, the Paradox form for the Swords of Justice as detailed in the Scarlet/Violet book within the games is actually gonna be referred to as Paradox Virizion. According to the Scarlet/Violet book, Paradox Virizion will be an amalgamation of the Swords of Justice: Virizion, Cabalion & Terakoin. I REALLY want to know more about them! I don't know where these three will fit into the story let alone why Pokemon is choosing to suddenly focus in on them either. The Swords of Justice are often referred to as the Pokemon equivalent of the Three Musketeers, a Spanish story. And guess what, there wasn't three Musketeers, there were actually FOUR hence why Keldeo is the often forgotten Sword of Justice. Something tells me that if the Swords of Justice are based on the tale of the Three Musketeers which is further based in Spain/Paldea, this tells me that Pokemon will most likely double down and give us a DLC telling us the Swords of Justice's origins and a story somewhat similar to the Three Musketeers.

5. They'll Finish Arven's Storyline

ALOT of people had noticed as of the ending of the main story in Scarlet & Violet that Arven never really got closure about anything and that his character feels incomplete. I mean yeah, the post story gave Arven an idea of what he wants to do in the future, but his character Arc was never completed unlike Penny, Clavel and Nemona. The game literally ended with Arven realizing his parents are dead, he still blames A LOT of his issues on Miraidon/Koraidon and that he never got to cope/obtain closure from ANYTHING that happened in the game. Furthermore, in the Post story Arven is being threatened he's not gonna be able to graduate from the academy due to his lack of credits and LEFT IT AT THAT. I think it's painfully obvious that Arven is gonna be featured within the DLCs as a major character and recieve further development. It was Arven that was the Scarlet/Violet book keeper, his parents were the regional professors AND Arven knows more than he let's on about the Crater. Something tells me Arven might pull a Hop & become the new Regional Professor and pick up where his Parents research left off. Yes, the game ended Arven with deciding he wants to take being a chef from hobby to somewhat of a life direction, but even then Arven was adamant that cooking is just a hobby of his and he doesnt want to make it a profession. MANY characters have multiple professions such as ALL of the Scarlet Violet Gymleaders & Leon + Geeta who is both a Chairman & Champion. Something tells me Arven is gonna take up being both a chef and a Professor sort of like how Kukui was a professional wrestler & professor as well as Hop who wants to remain a Pokemon trainer all the while being a professor. One thing for sure is that all signs point towards Arven playing a major role in the future of Scarlet & Violet especially since the region now doesn't have a Professor. Unless Jacq counts? It's more he just wants to develop the Paldea Pokedex than anything.

6. Nemona Becomes the Next Chairwoman

As of the post story of Scarlet & Violet, the game was heavily suggesting Nemona is gonna recieve an official position of some sort in the Paldea Region BUT the games left this plot unfinished. It began with Arven saying Nemona got some sort of offer for a League position from Geeta and that's all we heard about the subject. Heck, Nemona's post game story did NOTHING towards this plot Arven suggested. I personally think Nemona will wind up becoming the new Chairwoman.
Throughout the Scarlet Violet games, Chairwoman Geeta constantly praises Nemona for her relentless fighting spirit and passion for those around her. Geeta often mentions how Nemona is WELL out of Geeta's league and that Nemona has the passion & skill to eventually stand with the likes of Champion Leon. To be put on the same level as Leon of all people says EVERYTHING!!! Considering that Leon was a Champion first and then became the new Chairman of the Galar League/Region and that Nemona IS a Champion currently feels all too familiar. I think 100% Pokemon is going to give Nemona the same treatment as Leon where Geeta will eventually step down as Chairwoman and hand the title to Nemona. We already know Geeta respects and looks up to Nemona, and considering Nemona pulled together the Academy Tournament singlehandedly, I feel it's obvious Geeta will step down and reward Nemona with what she deserves.

7. Penny's Family

One recurring theme within Scarlet & Violet was the theme of Found Family. Penny found friends and Family within Team Star. Arven found family within his Mabosstiff & Miraidon/Koraidon and friends within the player, Nemona & Penny. Nemona considers the player her soul mate. Everything adds up. One thing that stood out with Penny in particular was that she isn't fond of her blood family. I'll admit, I kept screaming at my television that Penny was being a spoiled ungrateful brat about her Family especially towards Arven when the group investigated the Crater. This girl was basically telling Arven she hates her family because they love her too much and that her father in particular is too clingy and embarrassing and then you have Arven who wanted family PERIOD. Considering that Penny's blood family was one of the most brought up subjects in the game tells me the DLCs will further elaborate on Penny's family. The only things we know really is that Penny is from Galar, she came to Paldea as an exchange student, and that her family loves her. Maybe one of Penny's family members happens to be a character we've already been introduced to in Sword & Shield? Yup, I'm talking about Peony. Peony is married to a white woman and his daughter, Peonia, is a light skinned mixed girl. Peony is from Galar and Penny's Japanese name Botan translates to Peony-Tree. Penny being related to Peony, and further hating her father due to his clinginess is VERY notable in Peony's interactions with Peonia when shes so annoyed with Peony's loving clinginess that she does whatever necessary to avoid him. That's way too many coincidences am I right? Either way, I'm 100% certain that Pokemon will delve more into Penny's family within the DLCs.

8. The Fate of Team Star

Even though, despite all the efforts, Team Star wasn't disbanded within the main story of Scarlet & Violet, I have a sneaky suspicion that they WILL eventually disband somewhere within the DLCs. Penny, even after being told Team Star can continue to exist, wasn't on board with the idea of them still being around and decided to pretty much step down as leader and continue to allow the Team to go on without her. So now Team Star is still around, but without their leader AND they can't cause trouble anymore. I see no reason for the team to continue to exist... With Arven in particular, graduation is a really big deal and I think that may have something to do with Team Star as well. Team Star Members are Academy students who, as of now, sparingly attend school. Therefore, the Team Star leaders will have to face reality ans eventually have to drop out of school OR quit Team Star as a whole. With Mela in particular, during her story they HEAVILY beat the dead horse with the fact that she's the most likely to drop Team Star and start attending school again in order to bond with a Pokemon that lives on Academy grounds. With Giacomo, he was formerly the student body president and Team Star Members constantly beg him to become the president again. Nemona is the president right now, and we all know she isn't gonna step down for Giacomo. Eri is suggested to eventually become a pro wrestler. Atticus is a close friend to a few Academy students who ARENT in Team Star and lastly Ortega, according to Clavel as well as his guardian, he has a bright future in engineering. The games HEAVILY suggest Team Star aren't long for this world and before you know it the Team Leaders are gonna leave on their own free will to make a name for themselves.

9. Paradox Suicune/The Legendary Dog Trio

Much like the Swords of Justice, the games have confirmed that one of the future DLCs will focus on Paradox Suicune and the Legendary Dog Trio. I have no damned clue what the games are gonna do with Suicune as literally ANYTHING will contradict the Legendary Dog Trio's origins as Pokemon who died in a tower in Johto and were resurrected as Suicune, Entei & Raikou by Ho-Oh. Considering that the Scarlet/Violet book was a book created within the last 10 years in the Pokemon Timeline, and that the books detail Paradox Suicune, tells me that Pokemon is either gonna retcon Suicune, Raikou and Entei's origins OR they'll pass off Paradox Suicune as a Future form and not a Past form.

10. Mr. Salvatore Tells You Where the Next Pokemon Game Takes Place In?

Maybe it's just me, but Mr. Salvatore just always seemed off to me. This man is the resident Language Teacher at Uva/Naranja Academy and this man has clearly been around the world a few times. With his fixation on Raichu, specifically Alolan Raichu, his entire Pokemon Teams consists of Pokemon from different regions too. Heck, Mr. Salvatore gifts the player with a Galarian Meowth. Mr. Salvatore speaks fluently in most languages BUT he speaks Spanish, French & German the most with a little dutch sprinkled in there. This goes to say, while there isn't necessarily anything wrong with Mr. Salvatore, I think him as a character is a sly way to hint towards the next Pokemon game. Salvatore speaking Spanish and French makes perfect sense as Paldea is Spain and Kalos is France, already established Pokemon regions. Salvatore speaking German and Dutch, both are languages of countries that aren't yet introduced to the series, tells us that there is indeed Pokemon regions based on Germany and The Netherlands out there! Both Germany & the Netherlands are right next to each other, and located in Europe RIGHT NEXT to Galar/The United Kingdom & Kalos/France. Also Considering that Deino, Zweilous & Hydreigon all have German in their names already suggests that Germany does exist in the Pokemon Universe. I genuinely think Pokemon is hinting to us that their next main Pokemon game will be located and inspired by Germany and you wouldn't know this unless you took Mr. Salvatore's classes.

What do you think? Do you think any of this will happen in the Scarlet Violet DLCs? Do you think the next Pokemon game will be in Germany?
