Entry Seventeen

Dear Princess Zelda,

There's a lot to unpack in this letter.

I made it to Zora's Domain!

I could not write to you during my whole journey there, sadly, because the Lanayru Region is being plagued with rainstorms.

I met a Zora named Sidon.

Prince Sidon.

I knew I was short for a Hylian, but I look like a Korok next to him.

He's very nice.

Pushy and stubborn, but nice.

He slowly guided me through Lanayru to his home.

He swam there, but I had to walk.

I'm glad I prepared in Hateno beforehand.

The place really was crawling with monsters.

Once I finally made it to the domain, Sidon welcomed me with open arms.

He brought me to his father straight away.

I was stopped many times by many different Zora.

A lot of them were excited to see me- saying they knew me.

They said we used to play together.

I thought that impossible.

They looked no older than 30.

Sidon didn't seem to notice I had fallen far behind him.

Some of the older Zora stopped to yell and scream at me- blaming me for the death of someone named Mipha.

I didn't know what to say.

It seemed they knew me as well.

But...how could that be?

I've been asleep for 100 years...

Impa and Purah are still alive so I suppose it's possible they knew me.

I won't lie, I ran away from the older Zora.

I sprinted to catch up with Sidon and stuck to his side the rest of the way to his father's throne.

His father, King Dorephan, recognized me instantly.

That's when Sidon recognized me as well.

He grinned as familiarity shone in his eyes.

His father had the same look but, I couldn't give them that look.

I...couldn't remember...

He asked me many questions regarding my whereabouts for the past 100 years, and I explained what happened.

I told him about my memory loss.

King Dorephan and Prince Sidon looked upon me with sadness.

"Do you really not remember my daughter, Mipha? You two were so close..."

I felt so frustrated.

Why couldn't I remember them?

Why couldn't I remember Mipha?

I shook away my frustration to deal with the task at hand.

I promised the King and the Prince that I would tame the Divine Beast that plagued the domain with heavy rains.

With a smile, King Dorephan handed me a piece of armor.

It was the most beautiful armor I had ever seen.

It was clearly made with love, and it could allowed me to swim up waterfalls!

How cool is that!

But...

An elder in the throne room, Muzu, became enraged when I was handed the armor.

He yelled and stormed off.

Sidon ran after him.

I put the armor on (it fit me perfectly, surprisingly!) and went after Sidon and Muzu.

Then, as Sidon attempted to talk some sense into Muzu, I remembered her.

Looking upon the statue of her face, I remembered Mipha.

She was so nice.

She healed me.

And she was every bit as beautiful as everyone said she was.

When I came around, Sidon was explaining that Mipha was in love with me.

That she made this armor just for me.

Apparently Zora women make this kind of armor for the man they want to marry.

Since her father had it I can guess what I said if she ever asked...

Anyway, Muzu came around and told me where to find shock arrows.

Shock arrows would stop the water flow in Vah Ruta and make the rain stop.

I guess Zora shouldn't handle shock arrows, being fish people and all.

I would find shock arrows at Shatterback Point up in the mountains.

I'm going there in the morning.

Right now, I'm sitting alone by a cooking pot, watching my dinner cook as I write to you.

I'm sorry this letter is so long, Princess.

I promise the next one will be shorter.
