᪥ Chapter Four

Jaemin sighed ruffling his hair in frustration as he messed up again. He picks up his sword ignoring his father's complaint about how he just ruined his hair yet again.

He rolls his shoulders back and circles his neck to stretch them before getting into position. He tries again and not even after the fourth move, he missed.

He groans frustrated, he has sword practice today, which means he'll be stressed again.

"Take a break first Jaemin-ah," Mark, his instructor advised feeling bad for the young crown prince.

Jaemin sighed and nodded placing his sword down to one of the holders near where his father was sitting. "You need to be better Jaemin," the elder said.

The prince fought the urge to roll his eyes, "yes father," he said instead of fighting back.

One of the reasons he didn't like to have this specific activity and one of the reasons of his stress was because of his father, the king.

The elder liked perfection, he liked things to go his way, to rule his way. That includes his only son, the crowned prince who's soon to be king, should follow his footsteps and his set of rules.

He wants Jaemin to be the best of the best, to be one of the powerful rulers on the land, to be someone people have respect for and are scared of.

Seeing his so called crowned prince not able to succeed in sword fights all the time is sort of worrying.

Sword fighting is one of the must royalties like them should have and mastered. It's an important thing.

It's both for defense and offense, mostly it is about defense is what he taught the young prince. Not only for him but for everyone else.

I mean, if Jaemin is going to rule their kingdom soon, he should also know how to defend them.

If he doesn't master and know how to fight, then it's clear for everyone they're not safe if an attack was encountered.

The prince dismissed himself as his father and Mark started a conversation on their own.

Jaemin heads to the garden to take a breather, but instead stumbles upon something more interesting.

Jeno was on his knees humming to a song as he trailed his fingers along the flower bed and the different colors of petals.

Butterflies were surrounding him as the wind blew his bangs away from his eyes and a few animals were near him, some crawling closer.

Jeno looked like a princess, a beautiful boy in his place, where other beautiful creatures and herbs were at. Jeno was like a part of nature.

The boy had many things to admire, everything about him was so ethereal and precious. He could be both the sun and nature working on his own.

The younger brunet was so immersed in his business that he didn't notice the prince approaching him until he kneeled down on one knee beside him, "hey," he greets.

Jeno gasps in surprised and jumps back clutching onto his chest as he could feel his heart beating fast from both Jaemin's sudden presence and the older brunet himself.

"Oh my gosh! Your highness, you startled me!" He exclaimed regaining his composure and gets back to his previous position.

Jaemin laughed and raised his hands up in surrender mockingly, "my apologies, sweet cheeks." He grins.

The servant blushed and turns his head to face the other flowers beside him to cover his red face.

The prince can't help but coo finding the boy cute, he pats his head gently. "So what were you doing here in the garden, darling? Aren't you supposed to be inside?" He asked.

Jeno shrugs as a butterfly landed on his head, "I don't have any duties until you're at your studies again your majesty. I just decided to spend my time here for the time being," he answered.

The prince hums in acknowledgement, "seems like you have a liking towards nature hm?" He said with a little teasing tone as Jeno stood up and brushed the dirt on his pants off.

Jaemin follows suit as they walk around the garden, "well, my mother owned a flower shop and my father used to bring me to the woods every so often." Jeno shared.

"I started liking nature since I was a tod, I learned and met many various types of creatures and plants. So you can say it's a bit of a habit," he adds.

The prince grinned, "you sure are something else, Jeno." He said out of the blue catching the younger brunet by surprise.

"What ever do you mean, your highness?" The servant asked curiously.

Jaemin shrugs, "let's just say you might have intrigued me about yourself, darling." He comments.

"I do?" The boy widens his eyes as it shines from the sunlight and he brushed his bangs away that fell over his eyes.

Jaemin hums, "so you have." He chuckled and turns his head to the servant as they continued their way out of the little bush maze, "why don't you show me some of your habits?"

The servant furrowed his eyebrows tilting his head to the side. "Show me, teach me, make me explore your world Jeno. I'd like to see it myself."

Jeno blushes but nodded anyways, it's what the prince wants, he should obey. The older brunet smiled, "great, do come over to my room late at night, 10 o clock."

Seeing his servant weirded out at the specific time, he adds, "we don't want to get caught and get in trouble now do we?" Shrugging his shoulders.

The younger pursed his lips and shook his head, "very well then. I'd like to see you there sweet cheeks," the prince winked.

A call of Jaemin's name caught their attention as both of them stopped walking at the main arc. The prince sighed.

"I'll go get you your snacks your highness, good luck on the swording," Jeno mumbled shyly.

The older chuckled, "go ahead darling, thank you in advance." He said as he turns to walk back to where he had his practice located.

He turns his head to glance at his servant to see the boy cooing at the little squirrel following him like he's the princess, "goo goo gaga~" the brunet squealed.

The prince chuckled and shook his head before turning back around to continue walking with a smile etched on his face.
