The Alternate World.
Elio.
Leaving the house was always terrible due to the fact that Iki Town was Melemele's Team Skull Base.
He crept outside of his house, wearing his blue and white striped shirt, black shorts, blue sneakers, and black hat. His hat only covered the top of his black hair, which was long on the back and ran down to his shoulders. While on the front he had one tuft of hair swept across his forehead.
Elio hauled the black backpack with blue straps onto his back and set off for Hau'oli city, where he could buy a Pokeball and catch a Pokemon. Sure his mom wasn't thrilled he was going out into the big dangerous world, but he had to. Elio had been dreaming of adventure for years, and now he could finally get it.
The Pokemon Center and Pokemon School near his house had been burned down, in hopes that new potential trainers would be discouraged from becoming trainers. Even Professor Kukui's lab had been destroyed and the professor had been forced to go into hiding.
Elio stopped on the outskirts of the town, he saw multiple Team Skull members harassing people and vandalizing the area. The beach was being swarmed by members battling each other. The three houses were all covered in spray paint and most of the windows were broken.
Elio tried to avoid eye contact with the gang members and kept walking, if he had a Pokemon he could show them just how great he was. He just had to make it to the Pokemon Center. Then two Team Skull grunts ran over to him and stood in his way, doing their stupid dance.
They were wearing black tank tops and necklaces that had grey S's attached to the chain, along with that they had on white hats with a black circle and a black crescent on the front. Their light blue hair was short and could only really be seen from the sides. They had pure black bandannas covering their faces, finally they wore black shorts and white shoes. One of them was holding a boombox.
"Yo Beat, play that encounter music dawg!" The one grunt said to Beat. He pressed some buttons and a song Elio had heard blast from Iki town played.

"Guys just get out of my way." Elio told them, they both doubled over laughing.
"Yo this dude thinks he can tell us what to do! Let's teach him a lesson!" Beat smirked under his bandanna. His friend reached for a Pokeball, Elio tensed. The boy had been hoping that he would be able to make it past them before he got his Pokemon. However it seemed he would be having no such luck.
"Uh well, I don't exactly have a Pokemon." Elio said, they both hooted and hollered like monkeys.
"Not only does this dude think he can tell us what to do, but the guy doesn't even have Pokemon yo!" Then the grunt's eyes narrowed. "You look dressed for an adventure. Perhaps you were on your way to getting a Pokemon? That means you've got money, so hand it over since you forfeit the battle yo!"
"Just leave me alone, or-or I'll..." Elio looked around, hoping for some means of escape, however there was none.
"You'll what? Cry for your mommy? Dawg you should know better than to try to go on a journey, the boss has banned it and you don't defy the boss yo!" Beat got up in the boy's face and he shoved him away.
"Don't you guys have anything better to do instead of harassing me, like burning a building or having a rap off?" Elio inquired.
"Yo man, we don't do that stuff... on Thursdays. Wednesday is building burning day and Saturday is rap off day!" The unnamed grunt corrected.
"Yo you told me we didn't have rap offs dude!" Beat turned to him, glaring at the other grunt. The grunt's eyes widened as he realized his mistake.
"Uh-I mean." He put his hands up defensively as he tried to think of an excuse, Elio saw the opportunity and ran around them while they argued, they didn't even notice he was gone.
Elio jogged into the main part of the city. He hated what he saw. Even more Team Skull grunts were milling about, this year had been an especially bad year since it was estimated that over 40% of Alola's population had converted to Team Skull. The other 60% had either run away or rarely left their homes.
The Tourist Bureau had been burned down a year ago, and little signs remained of its existence. The Shopping Mall was now where most of the Team Skull members kept all the loot they stole, many of them slept there as well since Iki town wasn't big enough for them all.
The Salon and Apparel shop had the lights turned out and were empty, having been raided a long time ago. The Pokemon Center was still around, just so the Numskulls had a place to heal Pokemon.
The trail captain llima's house also suffered from raids, the city hall was where people sough out refuge from the Team Skull attacks. The Malasada shop had been kept around due to the Team Skull grunts loving the food. The police station had been ransacked and covered in black spray paint, the Marina was still operational but only members of Team Skull could use it.
Elio walked through the town, fortunately most of the grunts ignored him. He went into the Pokemon Center, the shop had of course been shut down, but Nurse Joy had Pokeballs hidden from the grunts that she sold to wannabe trainers.
"Excuse me Nurse Joy, may I have a Pokeball?" Elio asked quietly, even though there was nobody else in the center he still wanted to be careful. The nurse nodded, keeping her smile. She took out the white and red sphere and handed it to Elio, he was about to take out some Pokedollars when she shook her head.
"There's no need to pay, good luck." She informed Elio, Elio held the Pokeball in his hand like it was made of glass and would shatter if it touched anything. He gave her a smile.
"Thank you Nurse Joy." Then he walked out of the Pokemon Center, he realized he was holding the Pokeball a little too late. A few grunts noticed him and walked up to him. Elio stuffed the Pokeball in his pocket and took a defensive stance.
"Yo man, is that a Pokeball I see? That means you got money. So hand it over, the Pokeball too. It's time to pay your dues!" The grunt rapped, Elio turned and bolt towards the fence. He vaulted over it, the grunts gave chase. He turned and ran past the Malasada shop, then there was a suddenly flash of light in front of him, temporarily blinding him.
When he could see again the light was gone and a girl with shoulder length blond hair, wearing a white flower print top that was tied at the bottom. Along with green shorts. She had a bag that was designed to look like a fruit. She also had on a red hat that had four ruffles on the top and a Pokeball design in the middle. Finally she was wearing red and black sneakers. She was laying on the ground with her eyes shut, she appeared to be breathing.
"Are you OK?" Elio asked, concerned. She opened her eyes and got up, staring at him with brilliant bright blue eyes.
"Who are you? Where am I? Who am I?" The girl asked.
