In elementary school I first met my crush Sanae Kochiya. She was the Shrine Maiden of Moriya Shrine. She noticed that I was lonely and went up to talk to me.

As we grew up together, we always went down to a manga shop to check out the weekly Shōnen Jump manga and magazines, watch our favorite Anime together, played our favorite games, prayed to the Moriya goddesses Kanako and Suwako, and spend time in the park with cherry blossoms. I even visited her at Moriya Shrine commonly.

When we reached middle school, tragedy happened. Sanae's parents got killed in a car crash. There was no one to comfort her but me.

When I entered my first year in high school, Sanae told me that she was moving. And on the day before she moved away, we sat on a bench underneath the cherry blossoms.
"I'm gonna miss you." I told her.

"So am I. I'm gonna miss you too." She replied.

"Nothing will be the same without you." I replied back.

"There is something I'd like to give you before I go." She said as she reached into her pocket and brought out a green jewel at tag her to a necklace. "This is my amulet. Please have it. It will be how you remember me." She said. I accepted it and took it into my hands. We spent more time in the park till we parted ways.
Present:

It's been years since I've seen her and I've missed her since. I've felt this sorrow in my heart since she disappeared. I've held onto her amulet to remember her and the good times we had. Right now I'm sitting on the bench where she gave it to me.

"You seem sad. Why is that?" A woman in Victorian clothing suddenly appeared next to me out of nowhere. "Because I miss someone I've known for a really long time since childhood. She's been gone for a while now and I haven't seen her since then." I replied back.

"What was her name?" "Sanae Kochiya. That was her name." "Sanae? You mean the Shrine Maiden of Moriya Shrine?" "Yes... Why? Do you know her?" "I do." The woman stood up and stepped in front of me. "Tell me. Do you believe in other worlds?" "If you mean other worlds in the Universe or other dimensions or other worlds with magic that protagonists get sent to in the Isekai genre in Anime, I think yes I do."

The women suddenly smiled. "I know where Sanae is. She is in another world called Gensokyo. I can take you to her if you want. My name is Yukari Yakumo. And I am a gap Youkai." Introduced the woman known as Yukari Yakumo. "Yes please take me there." "But first, you must get ready and be prepared first. You also need to tell your family that you're going somewhere for a few days so they don't worry about you." "Ok I'll do that."

One time skip later: I was all ready to go. Yukari opened a portal to the other world. It was an eyelid with a bunch of eyes and with a background of purple. I stepped in with no hesitation and Yukari followed after and closed the gap portal.
Gensokyo:

I stepped into the other world. I found myself against a cliff and I could get a view of the magical world. "Welcome to Gensokyo. The place sealed in the Hakurei barrier. This is where Sanae Kochiya has lived since she left the outside world. When someone enters Gensokyo they are given the ability to fly and to use magical cards known as Spell Cards. From those cards they shoot out magical energy bullets known as Danmaku. They also shoot energy and lasers." Explained Yukari. "So where can I find Sanae?" I asked. "On Youkai Mountain over there." Answered Yukari pointing to a tall mountain in the distance. "Then we go." "Very well then Y/N." Yukari opened another gap and then we entered and ended up at the gate of Moriya Shrine.  

It hasn't changed much since the last time I saw it. We walked up to the shrine and stopped at the steps. "Wait here and will bring her here for you." Said Yukari.

Sanae point of view: It's been years since I moved to Gensokyo. I've been getting used to living in this magical world. Then out of nowhere, a gap opened up and Yukari poked out. "Oh? Good day Yukari-Sama. What brings you here?" I asked. "I brought someone from the outside world to see you. Someone you know." Yukari answered. "Someone I know? Who would that be?" "Come outside and find out." Then Yukari went back and the gap closed.

Y/N point of view: from the Moriya Shrine door, Sanae stepped out. She saw me with Yukari. "His name is Y/N. He says that he knows you. Sound familiar?" Asked Yukari. "Not really no. I don't know anyone by the name of Y/N." Said Sanae. Then I turned pale white and got blank white eyes with a black and white background appearing behind me in shock and disbelief. "I guess that he might have mistaken you for someone else. Sorry to have wasted your time." Said Yukari. "Yeah. Sorry for wasting your time." I said. "It's fine." Said Sanae heading back in. Tears started coming out of my eyes. "Why don't we go to somewhere else. You are beginning to feel sad that she's forgotten about you." Yukari offered. "Ok..." I said. Yukari opened another gap. "Let's go to the forest of magic." Said Yukari before we entered the gap.

Forest of Magic: I sat down on a log with Yukari. I was still in sorrow. I took out the amulet Sanae gave to me before she disappeared into Gensokyo. "This is what Sanae gave to me to remember her by. How could she forget who she gave it to? She probably forgot about her old life in the outside world and moved on with her new life in Gensokyo... That's messed up... I should never have come here..." "Why didn't you take the amulet out to show her?" Asked Yukari. "Because if se truly did forget about me, she would think I have stolen it." I answered. "Would you like to go home?" "Actually yes I would. I'm gonna cry in bed when I get back. But I'm gonna have to move on without her."

Sanae's Point of View: after Yukari left with the boy, I wondered. Who was he? How did he know my name? Did I know him from the outside world? I had to follow them to find out. I heard that they were going to the forest of magic so I flew there. I hid so they won't notice me.

Then I saw him take out an amulet, it looked familiar, except. That's my amulet. Where did he get it from? My amulet was given to Y/N L/N. Wait a minute, he said his name was Y/N. Then I started to have a series of flashbacks. All the memories of Y/N came back to me. It was him. I had completely forgot about him. He was in love with me and I was in love with him. I started to cry... he loved me. I wanted to see him again.

Y/N Point of View: At the spot where I first entered Gensokyo: I had to leave Gensokyo and head back to the outside world. Because Sanae forgot all about me. This was her home now and I had to go back to my home now. Yukari opened a gap portal to my house for me to step though. Tears were coming out of my eyes because of Sanae. "Well... I guess this is it then. I won't be seeing Sanae anytime soon again. She's a goddess and I'm just a human." I said to myself. Before I could take another step someone called out to me. "WAIT!" Someone was flying towards me then embraced me. It was Sanae. "Sanae?" I asked before she embraced me. "Please don't go. Please... Don't go." Cried Sanae. "You don't remember me." Then she turned me around and made me face her. "I do remember!" Then she wrapped her arms around me.

"I remember everything now. "I can't let you leave me. Please don't go." Said Sanae as she cried and tears came down from her eyes. I couldn't stop her. I hugged her back. I didn't want to leave her. We let go then she put her hands on my shoulders and faced me. "I love you." We both said at the same time. I took out the amulet and placed it around her neck. "I kept it all these years and never lost it. I've had hope that one day I would see you again and give it back to you. And now I'm here with you." I said. "Stay with me here. Will you stay with me?" "...I will... I never want to be separated from you again." She smiles then she kisses me. I did the same thing. Yukari still there smiled at us. "Well I guess my work here is done." Said Yukari before she disappeared into a gap leaving us.

Together we flew back to Moriya Shrine holding hands. This was the beginning of our new lives together.

Time skip: I said goodbye to my family and moved into Moriya Shrine. Sanae and I were together.

Years went by. And on our wedding day we had our wedding at Moriya Shrine.

Then we had 6 kids. 3 sons and 3 daughters. We swore to never leave each other again.
