"Octavia!" Bellamy and I scream.

I stay standing, scanning frantically, while Bellamy falls to his knees, broken sobs ripping through him.

"Bell-" I start, moving toward him, but something slams into him. Then into me. I go flying back, the air knocked from my lungs.

I cough, forcing myself upright, chest burning.
"Bellamy? Bellamy!" I yell, eyes darting as I see him being dragged away.

I sprint after him- only to be slammed down again, invisible hands hurling me to the ground. I claw at the dirt, push up, but whatever it is keeps knocking me flat.

"Bellamy? Diana?" Gabriels voice cuts through the chaos as he runs out with echo.

"We're not alone. Back inside. Watch the girl!"'I commanded, standing to my feet.

"She's already gone. Come on- we can still catch her" echo said, but then something unseen knocks her down.

I rush to her, grabbing her arm and helping her up.
"Something else came through." Gabriel muttered

"Yeah, welcome to the party." I say

"Where's Bellamy?" Gabriel asks

"It took him towards the anomaly." I answer

"No, no, no, no. Times not behaving. We have to get to him first." He said

I snatch up the gun from the dirt.
"Diana- you can't shoot what you can't see" Gabriel warns

"Stop talking. I'm opening up a path. Follow me." I said.

I leveled my gun, firing blind into the trees. And take off running.

"Bellamy! Call out if you can hear me!" I yell as we push through the brush.

Gabriel stops. I whirl back.
"Gabriel, what the hell are you doing?" I ask

"Making sure we're not being followed." He says

"Followed by what? Have you seen anything like that?" I ask

"No." He admits

Before I can snap back, a rustle in the bush catches our attention. I raise the gun, stepping forward slowly.

The girl launches out, tackling me.

"Hope! Stop, no" Gabriel yells

She drives me back, quick and vicious. But I block her swing, twist, and shove her off.

"I don't want to hurt you" she blurts

"You attacked me. Doesn't make much sense" I snap, braced for fight. But she backs up, hands slightly raised.

"Who are you? Where's Octavia? And why are they taking Bellamy to the anomaly?" I spat

"Bellamys gone?" She asks, startled.

"You know him? You remember?" Gabriel pressed

"No....You called him from the tent. And this- was in my arm" she said, handing me a small note.

I unfold it.
"Trust Bellamy and Diana" it read

"I'm Diana. Just so you don't go attacking me again" I tell her

"I don't remember putting it there. But I think I must have." She says

Gabriel takes the note, studying it.
"It's another code. Like the one on Octavia's back" he said

"What's it for?" Echo pressed

"I don't know" she admits

"Stop lying!" I snap

"Easy. Octavia lost her memory too. Must be a result of moving through the anomaly." Gabriel says

Hope frowns.
"What's the anomaly?" She asks

"It's the sound you hear" Gabriel answers

"You said Octavias name right before you stabbed her. You remembered then, you sure you don't remember now?" I push

"The anomaly was on top of us then. Yeah, yeah, yeah, then she lost her memory when it receded, taking Octavia with it. Just why her? Why the memory loss? None of this makes any sense but my God it's incredible." Gabriel rambles

"We need to get to Bellamy." Hope cuts in

"How fast can you run?" I ask

"I don't know. Let's find out" she says

And we bolt.

"Wait, wait, wait. Stop. Too much toxin in the air. I am not in the mood to see my ghost right now, are you?" Gabriel pants, pulling out the antitoxin.

Before I can answer, a blast scorched the tree behind us.

We dive to cover.
"Ray guns. Cool." Gabriel mutters

"If it shoots, it can be shot at.....That was a bad shot- even from far away." I mutter, scanning the trees.

Another shoot blasts no where near us.

I edge out from the tree.

"Diana? Diana, what are you doing?" Echo asks

"Testing a theory" I answer

"A theory? If you're wrong-" Gabriel starts

Another shot whizzes past, wide. Not close enough to hit me.

"I'm not" I mutter

"She's not wrong. It's not trying to kill us." Hope says

"We're not playing by the same rules. Diana look around you, the particulate matter moves in response to motion. They come close enough-" Gabriel starts

"I'll have a target. To set the trap, we have to open a lead. Follow me" I cut him off.

And we take off running again.

We crouch behind a log, me settling my gun, waiting.

"Listen." Hope whispers

The sound grows closer.

"Here it comes. No one move, or it won't cell close enough." I order

Then- voices.

"Once a killer always a killer" a familiar tone cuts.

I freeze. My breath catches.

"Lexa?" I mumble, looking back.

"You didn't use the antitoxin, Diana. It's not real" Gabriel reminds me

But she's there. Staring right at me.

"You're going to kill Bellamy. Everyone you say you love dies. Lincoln, me-" she starts

"Shut up" I snap

"Quiet." Gabriel snaps, and I shake my head trying to focus.

Through the scope, Lexa is in my line of fire. Then another figure steps behind her.

Lincoln.

"Back to killing again? Do you wish that more people you love die?" Lincoln asked

"You don't deserve to be Heda. You abandoned your people for one man. What kind of leader are you?" Lexa sneers

My hands shake, just for a second.

"Diana-they're right there. Take the shot. Now, pull the trigger" Gabriel urges

I exhale.
"I'm sorry." I mutter

Then I fire, cutting through the visions- hitting the enemy cloaked behind them.

We rush forward.

"Gabriel, there could be more. We need to go now" echo said

"We need to know what we're dealing with." Gabriel says

"Gabriel- now" I order

"Hold on. He's just a man. Same tattoos as yours." Gabriel said

One of them stirs. I don't hesitate- I pull the trigger again.

"I love the gun, but I miss the sword so much more" I mutter to myself, not loud enough for anyone else to hear.

The silence was thick after.
"Listen" Gabriel says

"What?" I ask

"The anomaly. It's quieter. They're shutting it down." He says

"What does that mean?" Hope asked

"It means they can control it." He replied

"Or it means they're taking Bellamy through and they don't want us to follow" I say, dread sinking in.

I take off running.

We break into the clearing. The anomaly is closing, green light fading.

"Bellamy" I scream, sprinting towards it.

"No- wait. Slow down, Diana!" Gabriel grabs me

"It's closing!" I yell

"We go through together. If we're even seconds apart, we could be separated by months. Okay?" He says

He grabs my hand, I grab hopes with the other, hope grabbing echos.

I swallow hard, eyes locking on the fading glow.

"God, Clarke, Raven, please look after Madi" I whisper under my breath.

And then, together, we step into the light.
