I made my way to the room, my hand trembling as I held the bioweapon- the same one at has destroyed the former inhabitants of this planet. The water tank loomed before me. I was about to drop it in when a voice yelled through the tension.
"Diana! No! Stop!" I froze. Octavia's voice. And then, everyone walked in.
"You were supposed to get them out." I said, my anger slicing through the fear in my chest.
"It's not her fault. We wouldn't leave without you, Diana. You don't have to do this. I get it. Everything they took from you, they took from me too. But there are good people here." Octavia said, stepping forward.
"Who? Levitt? The man who stole your memories and gave them to the enemy? All of this happened- because of him. All the blood spilled!" I say, my voice almost cracking.
"Diana, this is not who you are. I know you think this is the right thing to do, but trust me it's not. There's always another way" Clarke said softly, stepping closer.
"I know it's not right, Clarke! I know! But this is the same thing as mount weather-I'm saving my people. I'm getting vengeance for Bellamy! It will always be blood must have blood." I shouted, my hands shaking over the bioweapon.
"Diana, stop! This is not what Bellamy would've wanted." Clarke said, her voice almost breaking.
"You have no idea what he wanted! If they killed, me, or you, or Octavia, he would be standing right where I am." I shot back, fury and grief twisting together.
Raven stepped forward, her hands raised.
"I don't think so." She said
"Stay back" I warned
"The Bellamy who helped massacre a sleeping army, maybe he might be there. But not the man who saved you from Josephine, not the man you fell in love with. Diana...you're my sister. And my sister wouldn't do this" Raven said, her voice firm but gentle.
Tears flowed out.
"I know....i know he wouldn't be here, and I wouldn't do this. But this is a choice I'm making" I whispered
"I'm not leaving, Diana. If you drop that, I am staying right here. You will have to kill me too" Raven said, stepping closer.
I sank to my knees. Her hands were wrapped around me instantly.
The bioweapon felt like the weight of the world in my hand. Someone grabbed it from me, and I broke down.
"Hey, hey, hey, it's okay. We're here now" Raven whispered, holding me close.
"I'm so sorry. I- I didn't get enough time with him. I- I'm so sorry Raven" I say with a raw cry.
She held me tighter.
"I know, I know. Let's take you home, okay? We're going home" she says
I nod slowly, and she helped me up.
"Good choice." Anders said, standing at the doorway.
"We had a deal. I told cadogan if I saw you I wouldn't help him." Clarke said
"That was before we knew one of you killed three more of us, torturing another just to get him to give you a weapon with which to commit genocide." Anders says
"The man makes a good point. Let's call it even" diyoza says, handing him the weapon.
"Even? I just told you three disciples are dead. You people disgust me. Look at yourselves. Raised in the wild. You're nothing but primal beasts. Utterly in thrall to your feelings, prioritizing the want of self over the need of all others. You don't deserve the Shepard's mercy." Anders spat
"Brave words coming from a man standing alone in front of a pack of armed beasts." Miller said
"He's not alone" I said, stepping forward.
"Smart girl, you were top of the class." Anders said with a smile, then behind him, guards appear.
"Probably not a good idea to fire lasers in a room with wmd. Let's get back to the Shepards mercy." Diyoza says, voice steady.
"Diana will be sent to penance for 20 years. But she'll be back before you know it. Unless by then the code hasn't been entered to begin the last war in which case, she dies there." Anders said coldly
"I have a better idea. You die here." Hope says
"Hope, no!" Diyoza yelled.
Hope sliced his throat with one swift motion. The weapon dropped to the floor. She snatched it and ran to the water tank.
The bioweapon began to fall. But before it could hit the water, Diyozas hand shot out and caught it.
"Mom, no!" Hope screamed
I could only watch, stunned.
"Get her out of here!" Diyoza yelled and Octavia grabbed hope and dragged her back.
"No no no!" Hope cried.
"Hope, it's too late" Octavia says
"What are yall waiting for? Move! Go!" Diyoza yelled, and I help grab hope.
"I'm sorry, Diyoza" I whispered.
"I'm sorry, mom!" Hope screamed
"Hope, we have no choice" Octavia begged
"I cannot lose her not-not again!" Hope screamed, but we dragged her through the door.
"Don't waste this little one. Be better than me"diyoza said before the door shut, separating the crystals from us.
"Mom! Mom!" Hope scream banging on the door.
"This was all my fault" I muttered, voice shaking.
We sat in a room, the tension thick.
I sat there, trying to focus on how to get out of this now. But I couldn't.
I had messed this all up. This wasn't my fault. All of it.
"Thank God for the flame. Doubt they serve us saji bowls in jail." Gabriel muttered
"The real question is why do they think Clarke has it? How do they not know it's in my head?" I asked
"Because of me" Octavia said, a slight smirk on her lips.
I raised an eyebrow.
"I'm going to need an explanation" I say
"When they put me on m-cap, they went through my memories. The last thing they saw on the flame was when you no longer had it in your head. They knew Clarke had it before you did, so now they just....amuse that she still does" Octavia explained
I nodded.
"We tell them it's on Sanctum. We go back, we get our friends, and then figure out what to do after that. If I have to, I go back with them, and let them into my head to get the code" I say
"Diana, no, they'll kill you once they have it" Clarke warned
"Then they kill me. I'm Heda. This is my fault. I need to fix it" I said firmly
Before anyone could answer, the door opened.
"Make way for the Shepard." A guard called out
"We need to talk. We're ready to help you. But only after our friends are-" I start
But he waves his hand.
My heart stopped. My breath caught.
Bellamy....was standing there. Alive.
"Bellamy?" I whispered, tears brimming. I thought he was gone. Thought I'd lost him forever.
Octavia stepped forward, hands reaching for him- but the guards raised their guns. She froze.
"How...how are you here? I saw you die." I breathed
"It's hard to keep the Blake's down." Octavia said, a small smile tugging at her lips.
I ignored the guards, stepping forward to pull Bellamy into a tight hug. He returned it immediately, and for a moment, nothing else mattered.
"Hold. They won't give us the flame if she's hurt" Cadogan warned
"The key is the flame. They think Clarke has it. Say nothing." I whisper to Bellamy
Bellamy pulled back.
"I hope that now you're ready to help us. Too much blood has been spilled. Each death is a child of earth who won't transcend. I'll give you time to reunite while we make preparations." Cadogan says and I nod.
He starts to walk off.
"My Shepard." Bellamy called after him.
My heart froze.
"There's something you should know. Clarke doesn't have the key. My memories are foggy, but the key....is on sanctum. They lied to you, I'm sorry" Bellamy said
I stared at him, my heart hammering. This wasn't the Bellamy I knew. Not entirely. Something in him was....different.
