"Clarke. I'm so sorry. I tried to see if she was still in there, I did- but... I'm so sorry I couldn't save her" I told clarke, wrapping her into a hug.

She didn't say anything- just cried into my shoulder- and I knew that was all she needed right now. After a long moment, she pulled back, gave me a small nod and smile before turning away.

"Raven" I called out softly, she turned to me.

"Thank you for helping me save Madi.... I'm- I'm so sorry I couldn't save Abby" I admitted, and she immediately pulled me into a hug.

"We did our best" she whispered, crying into my arms.

"You did good, Raven." I said softly, and she held me tighter.

Raven flew us back down after we got everything settled. I walked with Madi in front, holding her hand. Then echo walked up.

"Echo, are you ok?" I asked, hugging her.

"Yeah...you?" She asked, and I nodded when we pulled apart. That's when I saw Bellamy.

I ran to him and jumped into his arms. He held me tight as I pressed my head against him.

"I heard about Abby" Bellamy said, and I looked up at him.

"I tired to do better. I did. And then they killed Abby, they took Madi. Tell me it was worth it. Tell me- tell me it was all worth it" I sobbed

"Hey, hey, we did. We did do better. I have to believe that that matters" he said gently. And I nodded before pulling him into another hug.

"I love you, bell" I whispered as we pulled apart.

"I love you, Dia" he smiled, leaning down to kiss me.

A few days has pasted. The tension began to ease slightly. Some people were angry and wanted us gone. Others were grateful we helped reveal the truth about the primes. More needed to be figured out, but most of our people were moving into a house nearby- a farm. Madi was going to school. Life...was going to be better.

The afternoon sunlight poured across the porch, warm and lazy. I sat with Bellamy when Madi came bounding up, clutching a crumbled sketch in her hands.

"Mom! Look what I drew!" She announced, holding it out proudly.

I leaned over, smiling.
"You did this all by yourself?" I ask

The drawing was of us three, Bellamy, Madi, and I.

Madi nodded vigorously.
"All me!" She smiled

"Madi, that's amazing" I smiled.

Then she glanced at bellamy.
"I tried to draw your beard, Bellamy. But...it's hard. Like really hard" she admitted

Bellamy raised an eyebrow, leaning back on the couch.
"Hard how?" He asks

"Cause in all the drawings mom's made of you, you don't have one!" She said, scrunching her face.

We both let out a laugh.
"I guess I need to update my drawings, don't I?" I say

"And It's supposed to be scary, I don't know how to make it scary!" She adds, trying to keep her own laughter down.

I chuckled, smirking.
"Well, maybe he should shave his big scary beard then?" I suggest

Madi's eyes lit up.
"Yes! Do it, Bellamy!" She said, poking it with her finger.

Bellamy's jaw dropped.
"Excuse me?" He laughed

Madi giggled.
"She's right, you should shave it" she said

Bellamy threw his hands up in a mock defense.
"I am not shaving it! This beard is terrifying for a reason!" He said, containing his laughter somehow.

"Terrifying? No. A little cuddly bear? Yes" I said

Madi brushed out in laughter. Bellamy's jaw dropped. His hand pressed onto his heart.
"You wound me" he says

As we laugh, Madi curled up between us. We both held her close.
"I like it when we're together like this" she whispered

I smiled down at her.
"Me too, Madi. Me too" I whispered back

Bellamy smiled.
"We're your team, Madi. No matter what." He said

She looked up, thinking.
"A team....like a family?" She asked, almost hopeful.

Bellamy and I exchanged a look, both smiling.
"Exactly like that" I said softly

She grinned, poking Bellamy's beard one last time quickly.
"Maybe it's not so scary" she said

"Look what you did, Diana" Bellamy replied, and all I could do was laugh.

Later, after the sun began to dip low, the three of us had dozed off on the porch. Madi stirred, and I woke when Bellamy carried her to bed.

I slowly followed behind. I watched Bellamy tuck her in, a soft kiss to her forehead.

"Goodnight kiddo. Love you" he whispered

"Love you too dad" Madi muttered, half asleep, a soft smile on her face.

I watch Bellamy freeze. Then he slowly turned back, his wide eyes meeting mine.
"Did she just....?" He asks

I smiled softly, leaning against the doorframe.
"She did. And she means it" I say

Bellamy shook his head, a small smile tugging at his lips.
"Well...I think that makes us even more of a team than we thought" he said

He stepped closer, and I held him. My eyes still on his.
"It does. We've got each other. That's what matters" I smile

His eyes spoke in a way that made me feel safe.
"Always, Dia" he said softly

Then he leaned in, his lips brushing mine in a kiss that was slow, steady, and full of everything we couldn't out into words.

When we pulled back, I smiled faintly.
"You're gonna carry me too, aren't you?" I ask

His grin spread, boyish and warm.
"Yep" he said, with a playful tone.

Without another second wasted, he bent, scooping me into his arms. I laughed, wrapping mine around his neck as he carried me m toward our room, his lips brushing my hairline.

"Goodnight, grounder girl" he whispered as we laid down.

"Goodnight, sky boy" I whispered back

Two days later, Bellamy, Octavia, Gabriel, Echo, and I were going to see what Gabriel wanted to show us. The anomaly that he wouldn't stop talking about.

"Madi, while I go with Bellamy, you listen to Gaia, Clarke, and Raven, will you? They're your babysitters until I get back" I told her, smiling.

"I will, I promise" she replied, smiling back.

"I'll be back in a day or two. I love you. Stay safe okay?" I said, hugging her tightly.

"You too. I love you, mom." She said before running off to play with the dog.

"Gaia, clarke, Raven. I'm leaving you in charge of Madi. And on top of that, I already told our people you're in charge, as well as Indra, so hopefully, they listen to you. Help get this place fix up, will you?" I asked. They all nodded.

"We'll manage. Somehow we always do" Raven smiled. I hugged them all before walking out with Bellamy.

"I have to tell you. I'm very excited about this. I've been studying those symbols since we found the stone. We built the camp here because of it." Gabriel said, opening the hatch, climbing down with us following.

"The tattoo" Octavia murmured as we saw the anomaly stone floating in the air.

"It's thousands of years old. We have no idea who made it or what generates the magnetic field that holds it up. But we're pretty sure it's what sucks in all the radio signals." Gabriel explained

"Some of the symbols on her back are red. It's a code, isn't it?" I asked

"Yes. And we're about to find out what it's for. May I see the drawing please?" Gabriel asked, and Octavia handed it over.

"Moment of truth" Gabriel said, pressing each symbol that was red in Octavia's back.

"What happens if you're right?" Bellamy asked.

"I filled 100 notebooks with possible answers to that question... the last symbol in the series is called an octonion. Advanced mathematics way above my head, but I don't think it's a coincidence you share a name. Please. It should be you" Gabriel said. Octavia stepped forward and touched the last symbol.

Nothing happened.

"No no no no no. It can't be right. Let me see the tattoo again. Must have got something wrong." Gabriel muttered, touching the symbol again.

Then I heard it.
"Quiet" I said.

Everyone froze as a sound echoed around us. Above, a bright green light pierced the tent.

"Oh my God. I knew it." Gabriel whispered, climbing back up.

We all followed him quickly as the green surrounded us.

"What the hell is this?" I yelled

"She's here" I heard Octavia mumble, and I looked up to see a woman walking into the tent.

"Diyoza?..... Hope?" Octavia whispered, eyes wide.

"I couldn't get out of it. He has my mother. I'm so sorry Octavia." The girl said, hugging her.

"What's happening?" Bellamy asked, panic rising in his voice.

Octavia said something to her, and when they pulled apart, I saw a bloody knife in the girls hand.

"Knife!" I shouted. Gabriel and Echo grabbed the girl as Bellamy and I grabbed Octavia- but she disappeared from our hands.

"No no!" Bellamy and I muttered as she faded away. The green light vanished. Our hands were stained with blood, and panic surged.

"Octavia!" Bellamy yelled.

"Octavia!" I screamed, looking around frantically.

"O!" We both shouted, turning to each other.

What the hell was that? And what the hell do we do now?
