Jay and Carlos roomed together and Evie and Mal roomed together, leaving Quinn. Doug said that Quinn supposed gonna room with Alison, Alice Liddel's daughter. Quinn internally groaned at the thought of sharing a room with Alice's daughter. Wait 'til mom hears about this.
Quinn clutched her stuff in her hand as she watched Mal and Evie go into their room, which was next to Alison's. She gave the door's number a good look, making sure it was the right one. Her hand clutched the brass doorknob.
Here goes nothing.
She turned the knob, revealing a room that Quinn could only describe in three words: bright, clean, and pink. Lots of pink. Pink on the bedspread, pink on the pillows. Two four post beds stood in the middle of the room with two dressers on either side. The room's curtains and windows were open. One thing was for sure: Quinn's room looked nothing like this back home.
Another reason Quinn internally groaned was the fact that she was rooming with someone she didn't know. Knowing Auradon, this girl would probably be giddy and cheerful like every other resident of Auradon she had met so far. And as much as Quinn liked dressing up, she couldn't stand everyone wearing dresses and cardigans all day.
But the girl in her room was different. She didn't wear a dress; heck, she didn't even wear a skirt. The girl wore a pair of nice black jeans and a light blue sweater. Brown sandals laced to her feet. Well, that's at least what she looked like turned around.
The girl's blonde hair was covered by a pair of headphones that were blasting music. The girl turned around and saw her new roommate. Quinn now saw that Alison's sweater had a white collar sticking out and a statement necklace with flowers on it. So she was dressed decently, like any other Auradon kid.
"Are you Quinn?" Alison asked, removing her headphones.
"Are you Alison?" Quinn asked.
"Your roommate? Yep that's me," Alison said, following Quinn's eyes, which were looking around the room, "I know, this room is very—"
"Pink," Quinn said, "Did you decorate it?"
"Me?" Alison pointed to herself, "No. Heck no! But whoever did, clearly didn't think about how there wouldn't be only princesses living here."
Quinn hummed and looked at the girl's attire. "You don't like dresses or heels?" she nodded slightly, "So you're not an Auradon girl?"
"I'm far from it," Alison said, "I'd be caught dead in stilletos and a skater dress. I barely even get by with a collared sweater and nice jeans."
Quinn smiled, "Maybe you and I might get along well after all."
And that they did. The Queen of Hearts' daughter and Alice's daughter talked all day. The duo spread out on Quinn's dangerously comfortable bed and talked for so long that it was dark outside. They talked about school, parents, and music, which Alison and Quinn shared a passion for.
"Yeah, when I told my mom, she was like, 'you should be busy stealing, or breaking hearts, or whatever it is that I taught you,'" Quinn said, smiling more times in the past few others than she did in her entire life.
"Parents," Alison said, laughing, "My mom keeps telling me to focus on my studies, but she litearly didn't pay attention in school at all." The duo chuckled slightly. "Speaking of breaking hearts," she propped her head up with the back of her hand, "Have you ever fallen in love?"
"I wouldn't call it love. Actually I wouldn't call it anything because I literally hate this dude so much, " Quinn started, "But there was this one guy back on the Isle. I guess I liked him. Anyways, we had this thing going on, then he kissed me and he ignored me." The green-eyed girl shooed away the thought, "But that doesn't matter, his loyalty belongs to a rival gang and it's never gonna happen."
"Do you want some really cheesy Auradon advice?" Alison asked, "True love will always find a way." She said this with flashy hand movements, almost like Fairy Godmother's, and an accent related to Fairy Godmother's.
The two laughed again. There was a knock at the door. Alison sprung up and answered it, revealing Mal and Evie in all their colored hair glory.
"Uh, hey, is Quinn here?" Mal asked.
"You know it's after curfew?" Alison asked. Mal opened her mouth to say something, "Don't worry, I actually don't care. I've gotten in enough trouble here, so just bring her back in one piece." Alison turned to the half-redhead and nodded her head to the door.
Quinn sat up and trugged to the door to meet her friends. Alison waved and put her headphones back on as Quinn shut the door.
"Deffietly not an Auradon kid," Mal said.
"Deffietly not," Quinn said.
The trio went to Jay and Carlos' dorm, which wasn't far away. They had to be sure to be quiet just in case they ran into anyone who was also sneaking out. The dorm was easy to find, for they're were sound effects for some sort of video game bleeding through the door.
Mal and Evie opened the door to find Carlos playing a video game, and Jay pulling things out of his pockets. Quinn had found a bowl filled with popcorn sitting on one of the tables. Popcorn had also been in the limo, so Quinn had already known about it. Evie sat down, and pulled out her magic mirror while Quinn sat down at the table, lounging her feet and eating the popcorn. Mal was talking to Jay about the purpose of stealing.
"Jay, what are you doing?" Mal asked as Jay pulled out a stollen phone from his pockets.
"It's called stealing," Jay said, now facing Mal.
"Okay, what's the point?" Mal asked again.
Quinn gasped. "Never stollen anything before Mally Mal," another nickname she had given someone.
The purple-haired girl scoffed, now facing Quinn, "You don't steal anything."
"Where do you think those dragon earrings I gave you came from?"
Mal glared at the half-redhead, "fair."
"Well, Mal, It's like buying whatever I want, except It's free," the thief pulled out a laptop from his shirt and opened it, in some sort of attempt to break into it.
"Jay, do you even know how to use that thing?" Quinn asked, eating popcorn.
"Do you?" Jay asked.
It was Quinn's turn to glare. "Touche," she muttered.
"Okay," Mal picked up a stolen cell phone, "So, you could do that, or you could leave all of this here and pick it up when we take over the world." The phone slipped out of the purple-haired girl's hands and fell on the bed.
"You sound just like your mom," Evie said, still looking at herself in the mirror.
"Thank you!"
Quinn scoffed. "I don't think it was supposed to be a compliment," she muttered.
"You do it your way and I'll do it mine," Jay carelessly threw the laptop back onto the bed.
Meanwhile, Carlos was till playing the same video game the girls had heard upon their arrival at the boys' dorm. "Die, suckers!" the white-haired boy laughed in victory as he showed his friend the game controllers, "Jay, come check this thing out. Man, It's awesome."
Jay took the controllers and stepped up to the game. He ducked while avoiding an enemy and used the controllers to fight it off. Evie was still checking her reflection in her mirror. Quinn was eating popcorn, and Carlos was watching Jay play the video game.
Mal, having enough with her distracted friends, caught their attention. "Guys! Do I have to remind you what we're all here for?" she asked.
Jay's eyes stayed on the TV. "Fairy Godmother, blah, blah, blah," he turned to everyone else, controllers still in hand, "Magic wand, blah, blah, blah."
Everyone chuckled except Mal, who's tone changed.
"This is our one chance to prove ourselves to our parents," everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to Mal, "To prove that we are evil and vicious and ruthless and cruel. Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Evie," Mal clapped her hands together as everyone gathered around the table, "Mirror me."
The blue-haired girl pulled out her mirror. "Mirror, mirror on the—" she paused, realizing her mistake, "in my hand, where is Fairy Godmother's wand . . . " Another pause, "stand?"
The mirror showed an image of the wand in a glass case. "There it is!" Mal exclaimed, but not too loud as to be sure she didn't wake the other students.
"It's a beaut," Quinn commented.
"Yeah, you better not make up a nickname for it," Jay said, snickering.
"You're only saying that because I gave you the nickname 'beanie boy,'" Quinn insisted, her eyes staying on the mirror.
"Zoom out."
Evie held the cracked mirror closer to her face, "Magic mirror not so close."
The mirror showed a picture of planet Earth.
"Closer."
"Closer."
"Closer."
"Can I go back to my game?" Carlos asked, pointing to the TV, "I'm on level three."
"How advanced!" Quinn sarcastically joked.
"Stop!" Jay stopped Carlos.
The mirror now showed a sign labeled "The Museam of Cultural Hisory." "It's in a museum," Mal noticed, "Do we know where that is?"
Carlos typed on the stolen computer. Quinn was surprised that Jay got it working and that Carlos knew how to use it. "2.3 miles from here," he said, showing a map pin-pointed to a location.
"Come on," Mal said, snickering at their discovery.
While the others exited the dorm, Carlos stayed behind, playing the video game. Quinn began to run through the school halls, but noticed her friend's disappearance. She ran back to the room.
"Carlos!" she whisper-yelled, catching the boy's attention.
"Coming!"

Since the museum wasn't far away, the group went on foot. They found the building relatively fast thanks to them being fast runners and Evie's mirror, which had been giving them directions at the moment.
The five walked under one of many of the museum's balconies. "Blueberry, check your mirror," Quinn said.
"Is my mascara smudged?" Evie asked, checking her reflection in the mirror.
"Yeah. And, hey, while you're at it," Mal interjected, "why don't you see If you can find us the wand?"
"Sure," Evie glanced at the magic mirror, leading the teens in another direction, "This way."
The group followed Evie to a large building. Quinn felt a little tired after climbing a bunch of stairs after sprinting to the place. Everyone hid behind the large double doors, using it's windows to see inside. Quinn and Evie shared a window, for there were five of them and only four windows.
Inside the museum was a couple of statues on display in glass boxes. A man, who Quinn assumed was the museum's security guard stood on a stool, overseeing a bunch of computer montitiors. The five watched as the security guard slightly turned on the stool, his eyes observing the other computers.
Everyone hid on the other sides of the doors as the security gaurd turned his attention to a computer towards the door. Mal crashed into Quinn in the attempt of moving, who crashed into Evie, who stumbled backwards. The five closest to the window peeked to see if the guard was still looking at the door, and to the VKs' relief, he moved back to the other computers.
Most notable in the room was the large spinning wheel. Quinn assumed it was the spinning wheel that Maleficent used to curse Aurora because of how big it was, and the fact that the artifact was labeled "Maleficent's Spinning Wheel."
Jay must've noticed this, too, because he scoffed, saying, "That's your mother's spinning wheel?"
"Yeah, it's kind of dorky," Carlos commented with a snicker.
Quinn couldn't lie; she did expect it to look scarier. The only thing that really creeped her out was the fact that it was big. It's dark presence loomed over the VK's, but neither of them seemed to mind. They've seen scarier. But it mattered what the dark magic could do, not how it looked. Besides, if it was too scary, Aurora wouldn't have pricked her finger. Not really.
"It's magic. It doesn't have to look scary," Mal said, echoing Quinn's thoughts as she pulled out her mother's spellbook, "'Magic spindle, do not linger. Make my victim prick a finger.'"
Nothing happened.
Jay scoffed again, "Impressive."
"I got chills," Carlos said, touching is arm and adding to the joke.
Mal glared at her dimwit friends. "Okay, you know what?" she turned to another page in her spellbook, "'Prick the finger, prick it deep. Send my enemy off to sleep.'"
Out of nowhere, the security guard gave the spinning wheel a good look. He stood up, and pricked his finger. A large green spark emitted as soon as the finger hit the needle. He yawned, stretched a little, and laid down, drifting off into a dreamless sleep.
Mal smirked in victory, "Not so dorky now, huh?"
The purple-haired girl, deciding she was on a roll that day, tugged on the door handle—oblivious to the fact that they were dealing with a museum. Even though Auradon was filled with good people who had no intentions of stealing from a museum, they weren't that dense, meaning that the museum door would obviously be locked.
"Stand back," Jay said, taking a couple steps back in an attempt to kick down the door.
Mal, however, beat him to it. "'Make it fast, make it quick,'" she swiftly read, "'open up without a kick.'"
With a shut of the spellbook, the double doors flung open, resulting in Jay kicking in the air and falling onto the ground. The girls laughed at his failure and stepped over their friend. Carlos tried helping Jay up, but Jay refused to bruise his dignity any more.
The five rushed through a couple of hallways and floods of stairs, Evie guiding them to the wand. Quinn couldn't believe it. They were so close to freedom. Close to revenge. Close to—
But everyone's potential victorious thoughts came to an abrupt stop at the gallery of villians. The teenagers stopped running at the sight of the statues. It was their parents, all encased in glass as their figures posed in poses of fear.
"Mommy?"
"Killer."
"I will never forget mother's day again."
Quinn stood speechless. Her mother's statue seemed to stare back at her. All of the statues did. Reminding the VK's about what the consequences would be in the future if they couldn't pull this off.
"Mother dearest," Quinn said. What was supposed to come out as a sarcastic comment came in a tone ever so frightened.
Jay was clearly done with looking at his dad. "Well, the wand's not here. Let's bounce," he said, clapping his hands. Jay gave his friends a good look when they didn't budge, "Let's go."
Evie, Carlos, and Quinn followed Jay, but Mal didn't budge. The group only got a couple meters away before Quinn noticed that Mal hadn't followed the group out. She raced back to the gallery of villains, only to find Mal still gazing at Maleficent's statue.
"Mal," Quinn said. The purple-haired girl turned around, a look of worry painted onto her face. The princess frowned, but nodded to the right, nevertheless, "Come on."
She didn't wait for Mal as she caught up with Evie, Jay, and Carlos. They speed-walked through hallways and hallways of marble, climbing down and up what seemed like endless amounts stairs, and entering golden gates hundreds of times. That was until they found it.
The four stood on a balcony as they saw a blue dome. With one quick look down, they saw the wand encased in a blue field. Evie rushed to get Mal, as she was still in the gallery of villains.
Minutes later, the purple-haired girl emerged, smiling at the immediate sight of the wand. Jay whooped, and the villains broke through the golden gate.
They rushed down more stairs until they reached a sort of clearing. Everyone smiled in victory as they saw the wand. It was ivory, gilded all around. The end of the wand was rounded and looked like what Quinn assumed was a pumpkin, probably in some sort of resemblance to Cinderella's story.
The five could've rationalized about the number of lasers, sirens, etcetera, that could've triggered as soon as they touched the wand. But Jay happened.
"Jay don't!" Mal said as Jay went under the railing.
He smirked, and touched the blue encasing. Only thing was, the blue encasing was some sort of force field, that triggered blaring alarms. Everyone covered their ears as the alarm sounded through the museum. Quinn's ears were now ringing.
"A force field and a siren?" Carlos asked over the alarm.
"That's just a little excessive," Jay said.
"Well, it's Fairy Godmother's magic wand that is basically controlling all of Auradon," Quinn said, her, too, yelling, "Of course they would have some sort of quality protection!"
Without another word, everyone sprinted out of the museum. They were probably going to be expelled. The security guard would see the footage, and than it's "bye bye Auradon" and "hello Isle of the Lost."
Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Quinn rushed out of the museum, running down flights of hallways, marble stairs and ignoring galleries. All they knew was that they had to get out of there.
Carlos stayed behind. It barely even took a head count before Quinn noticed that the white-haired boy was missing. With an eye roll, she left as the other VKs waited as Quinn fished him out.
"Carlos!" the half-redhead whisper-yelled when she saw him walking away from the security guard's phone.
"You're welcome," Carlos said plainly.
Everyone else continued running back to Auradon Prep, with no wand, of course. Unfortunately, Quinn knew that this mission would take longer than she thought it would. That means more goodness, more cardigans, and more royals.
"Way to go, Jay. Now we have to go to school tomorrow."

back again with a filler 😀
again, descendants 1 isn't gonna have much content. it's mainly just following the descendants 1 plot and things
BUT YAY NEW CHARACTER
i know there's gonna be a tv show for descendants 4 featuring a descendant of the queen of hearts (yk instead of it being in a movie form), but i find it kind of unrealistic that the queen of hearts had no kid in descendants??
maybe, because alice from alice in wonderland isn't technically a princess
but jane isn't a princess either bc she's the daughter of the fairy godmother 🤔
WHO CARES ANYWAYS HERE'S ALICE'S KID who is obviously not as princessy as the other auradon kids and that's bc i wrote her to be kind of like her mother 😋
yeah i have no idea where this authors note is going—
thanks for bearing with me. :)
until next time.
