Deadly Life! The First Class Trial!

((AN:Hey guys! Just wanted to say, thank you so much for being so patient with all of my updates. You guys are the best! :) Anyway, the top picture is what Akemi looks like at the class trial.  And the video at the top is the debate music played at each trial. And now, the story. Enjoy!))

-Story Recap-

Akemi:Hope's Peak Academy. My current school and a Hell on Earth, where the only way to graduate...Is MURDER. As long as you don't get caught...You go free. And now Sayaka Maizono, the Ultimate Pop Singer, is dead. Butchered. The prime suspect is Makoto Naegi, due to the fact that she was found in his bathroom. But I know he's innocent! Makoto couldn't hurt a fly! Nor would he! Now it's time for the Class Trial. If we can't unmask Sayaka's killer in time, we all take the fall! Good luck everybody...We're definitely gonna need it!

-Class Trial (Story)-

Akemi:*Everyone quickly took in their surroundings. The courtroom we were in was very large, and was decorated very expensively. Whoever did it, was going all-out!*

Makoto:Pretty swank for a courtroom.

Monokuma:Goody gumdrops! Took your time, I see! *he was sitting in a large throne.* Be honest. You were expecting something a little less tasteful!

Mondo:*clenches his fists and growls angrily* Screwed up either way, if you ask me!

Kyoko:*turns to Monokuma* Before we start...I have a question relevant to our task. Why the portraits?

Akemi:*I turned to where Kyoko was pointing and gasped as I saw pictures over where Sayaka and Junko would've stood, had they not met their fate. Both pictures were marked over with a red "X", marking that they were deceased.*

Monokuma:Why NOT? Just 'cause they're dead, I'd hate for them to miss the proceedings!

Celeste:And the extra podium belongs to who? Counting our departed classmates, we number 16. So why are there 17 seats?

Monokuma:*waves off the question* You're reading too much into it, darlin'. The extra podium means that this courtroom is tripped out for a maximum of 17 jurors. Speaking of which, that's all the time we've got for pleasantries.

*Everyone took their seats at their respective podiums. Mine was right between Leon and Toko, much to my disappointment.*

Monokuma:Ladies and germs...Time to get judicial!

Makoto:This is jacked up! No one here thinks any one of us killed her!

Byakuya:*smirks*

Monokuma:Be correct I'm afraid, my boy. No room for error here.

Taka:*nods* Right. Everyone close your eyes. If you're the murderer, raise your hand.

Akemi:*I groaned and facepalmed at that statement* Taka...You're a great leader, but that's a stupid idea!

Mondo:*folds his arms* Yeah, that'll flow like an old lady's fart.

Monokuma:*laughs* Enough chit-chat! Let's commence with the beating of your lives!!!

-Classroom Trials...In Session!-

Hina:So, uh...How does debating WORK?

Akemi:Basically, we present our arguments on who did it back and forth. It's just like a debate class in Jr. High.

Hifumi:Knowing where to start's half the battle!

Kyoko:Well, I suggest we begin by consulting the murder weapon itself. See where that takes us.

Taka:We can be sure it was the weapon by where it was found...*yells angrily, clenching his fists* STICKING OUT OF A VICTIM'S MIDSECTION IS GENERALLY NOT WHERE A KNIFE IS KEPT!!!!!!!!!!!

Mondo:*sarcastically* Congratulations! You're GOOD.

Makoto:Don't blow him off, it's important!

Mondo:Wha-?

Makoto:Just stop and think for a sec. The knife had to come from the kitchen!

Hina:So does that mean anyone who was in the kitchen last night was a suspect?

Leon:He's just tryin' to get us to split hairs! He's the KILLER, remember?

Hina:Wait, you know what? I think I can PROVE Naegi isn't the one who took it!

Makoto:*gasps*

Akemi:*My eyes lit up happily* Really, Hina?!

Hina:*nods*I would know, because Sakura and me spent most of the day hanging out in the cafeteria!

Celeste:I'm sorry...Sakura is WHO exactly? No offense.

Sakura:*glares angrily at her* None taken. We were there until late, enjoying a lovely evening tea as it happens.

Hina:I was on edge! Sakura was sweet enough to keep me company and try and calm my nerves.

Toko:*points at Hina* Well, w-what if you b-both did it?! If y-you teamed up, y-you'd just have to k-keep your s-stories straight!

Monokuma:Oh! Please note! If two or more people team up to commit murder, only the actual killer is eligible for Graduation! No exceptions!

Byakuya:Yes, it's clearly stated in the rules.

Celeste:I see. In other words, no one stands to gain anything from opting to team up.

Toko:*bites her thumbnail* Y-yeah, fine! B-but stop beating around the b-bush and tell us wh-who took the kn-knife already! SWIM HUSSIE!

Hina:*growls and shakes her fist at Toko* YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

Sakura:As Hina said, we were there for sometime. We know who took the knife, because we witnessed its removal.

Akemi:*I gasped at those words* You...saw who did it?

Byakuya:Why did you not mention this SOONER?!

Hina:*looks down* I guess...'cause it's rude to speak ill of the dead.

Makoto:Wait, what?

Akemi:The dead? Then that means...the one who took the knife was...!

Hina:*nods* It was Maizono. I don't know WHY...But it was DEFINITELY her!

Makoto:But that doesn't make SENSE! Why would SHE take the knife?!

Akemi:Sakura, are you sure it was Sayaka and not someone else?

Sakura:There can be no doubt. She said she just came in for a drink.

Hina:At the time, it didn't strike me as weird or anything.

Sakura:Nor I.

Taka:I see...So the victim procured the weapon that would then end her life!

Makoto:Of course, yeah! She must've wanted it to protect herself!

Byakuya:That being the case, the very thing she sought to protect herself with became her undoing. Simple, tragic irony at its finest.

Makoto:Yeah. No kidding.

Byakuya:All the same, Naegi...You're still rather FAR from clearing YOUR name in this bloody business.

Makoto:*looks down*

Toko:A-ha! See?! There's murder written all OVER his face!

Makoto:Damn it, I told you! It wasn't me!

Hifumi:Ooh! Alright, everyone! He's attempting to steer the debate in his favor! *plays with his glasses* What a skilled manipulator you are!

Akemi:You don't know that, Hifumi! We don't have any evidence that links Makoto to Sayaka's death! Did no one listen to what I said before in the elevator? Innocent until proven guilty!

Kyoko:Careful. I'm under the opinion that it's still too early to point the finger at Naegi. Akemi's right. We have no evidence to prove it was him. There's evidence we're not considering.

Akemi:*I remembered something from the crime scene when Makoto and I went to check on Sayaka, right before we discovered her body.* She's right! Makoto couldn't have done it! And there's vital evidence that proves it!

Makoto:You two...Believe me?

Akemi:*I nodded.* Without a doubt. Makoto isn't the killer!

Sakura:What evidence?

Kyoko:I submit to you all the state of the crime scene. Did the culprit appear to have easy access to the shower? I think not.

Celeste:What are you driving at?

Akemi:Makoto's doorknob. It was broken.

Makoto:*nods* It was completely thrashed. It was about to come off. I saw it!

Hifumi:It did look like it had seen better days.

Toko:So?! What's that supposed to prove except that he broke in to get at his prey! Animal!

Kyoko:That one small detail convinces me that Naegi couldn't have been the murderer.

Mondo:What are you, nuts?! He needed in! Boom! Broke it! End of story! He didn't have any other choice because she locked the door on him!

Makoto:I can prove you WRONG! The shower doors don't lock in the boys' rooms. Only the girls' showers do!

Mondo:Yeah? And how do you know that?!

Akemi:*I was angry because Mondo lied about believing me and immediately took Makoto's side* Because Monokuma said so. We each got a note on our doors that said the girls' showers only have locks installed. Remember?

Makoto:She's right. Monokuma said so himself. Go on, sir. Tell them.

Monokuma:*wakes up* Huh?! Yeah, sure...Whatever.

Chihiro:Then why'd the killer have to go through the trouble of breaking the door to get at Maizono?

Makoto:Because my door's wonky. There's a trick to opening it.

*Everyone gasped upon hearing this detail*

Makoto:They didn't know. Figured the door was locked. For all intensive purposes, to them it was a girl's room! They'd have thought the only option was to bust the doorknob!

Kyoko:If Naegi were the murderer he would've been aware that the door doesn't lock, and knowing the trick to it, simply walked in.

Toko:Makes sense. I suppose. Ugh.

Makoto:*smiles at Kyoko and I* Wow. Thank you.

Akemi:*I smiled back* No problem. I couldn't stand to see an innocent man get accused of a crime he never committed.

Kyoko:Don't get to comfortable. We aren't done yet.

Celeste:Let us assume the murderer was someone else. Where did they get the idea that the door was locked? Were they not aware the two had switched rooms? And why be there if they didn't?

Kyoko:That's the point. From the evidence, I think we can assume the killer believed he or she was actually in Maizono's room.

Chihiro:Let me get this straight...You're saying the culprit was in the dark about the room swap?

Toko:Please...WE WERE ALL IN THE DARK ABOUT IT!!!!!

Mondo:This ain't exactly narrowin' our list of suspects!!!!

Taka:So? Then we put it to a majority vote!

Akemi:When we don't even know who the killer is?

Leon:*smiles* That could work. Yeah!

Hiro:I mean, we are in a bit of a pinch, right? Either we put someone on the chopping block or we ALL get the ax.

Celeste:No need to throw our hands in the air, Yasuhiro. The devil is in the details. I urge you all to focus.

Hina:Now that I think about it...If Maizono was freaked out like Naegi says, how'd the killer get into the room to begin with? I mean, she wouldn't have let him in!

Chihiro:Was the lock picked?

Taka:Not possible! The tumblers are all reinforced electronically!

Hifumi:*laughs* Prepare yourselves for an ingenious bit of sleuthing friends! *holds his glasses dramatically* Contrary to the assumption we've been laboring under, I put it to you that Maizono indeed let the killer in herself!

Makoto:Come on, man...We've been over this, she was too scared to open the door!

Hifumi:Ah. You certainly have the right to your opinion, but...I'D AGREE WITH YOU EXCEPT WE'D BOTH BE WRONG!!!!!!!!!

Makoto:I know what I saw. When she came to me, she was practically in tears. I don't know about you, but after saying she wouldn't open the door even if it was me on the other side....I don't know if she'd lie about doing something like that.

*Everyone was silent. Until...*

Kyoko:Perhaps that was the idea. Her terror could've been a ruse.

Makoto:*gasps* No...She wouldn't lie to me...Maizono and I were FRIENDS!

Kyoko:Yes, I will grant you it is an impossible idea to consider...But I'm afraid, necessary. *She pulled out a shaded-in note and everyone read it.*

Note:"There's something I want to talk about in private. Please come to my room. Make sure to check the nameplate so you don't go to the wrong room by mistake. -Sayaka Maizono "

Makoto:*eyes widen* What's that supposed to be?

Kyoko:The impression of a letter she wrote. I found it on the notepad in your room. I'm sorry. Are you trying to say it was YOU who wrote this?

Makoto:*looks at the note, trembling* No. It wasn't.

Kyoko:Of course not. I thought as much. As you can see, the signature is quite legible.

Makoto:I don't get it! Why would she-?

Kyoko:I think she wrote this letter...With the intent of luring someone to their death.

Hifumi:Someone would have to be DEAD inside to overlook an invitation from a teen idol of Maizono's caliber. That is, unless they were already satisfied with those of the 2-D variety!

Celeste:Yes, but....The note clearly says to come to her room. So there we have it then, don't we? She wasn't in her room.

Chihiro:That's right! Whoever it was would've gone to where Naegi was instead!

Kyoko:Ah, but you see...Maizono was clever.

Celeste:Really? How so?

Kyoko:After Maizono and Naegi switched rooms, she slipped out and swapped the nameplates. My notebook missed this detail entirely.

Chihiro:Then she was luring somebody into Naegi's room!

Byakuya:Well, if memory serves....I believe the phrase tossed out earlier was "luring someone to their death"?

Kyoko:Yes, seems so. Then it's the only logical explanation left. Of course, that points the finger away from Naegi.

Makoto:Finally!

Leon:Fine, whatever. So who KILLED her?

Makoto:Isn't it obvious? Whoever she invited to my room turned the tables on her. Got to her first.

Hina:We're actually going with this idea that she switched rooms with Naegi to try and off someone?!

Byakuya:Far from the worst of gambits...Once the deed was done, she'd have an out. She had but to switch the nameplates back to pin it on you. *turns to Makoto*

Akemi:*My eyes widened in horror at that statement* So...She was going to kill someone...And blame it on Makoto?!

Byakuya:*nods* Precisely.

Makoto:She'd never do that!

Byakuya:Oh please! Wake up! What could she have POSSIBLY been up to, if not that?!

Makoto:*speechless*

Byakuya:Her fatal misstep, of course, was giving her prey the opportunity to fight back.

Hiro:They got the first strike in with that Katana!

Celeste:No. That was used in self-defense.

Byakuya:Yes, the damage to the sheath implies as much. Had things gone according to plan, Maizono would be standing here now, pointing the finger at Naegi.

Makoto:I trusted her. Why would she-?!

Celeste:Why wouldn't she? It was an ironclad way out of here, was it not?

Byakuya:If we omit the fact that it was a spectacular failure, then yes.

Makoto:*still in shock*

Byakuya:Poor fool.

Makoto:*yells angrily* Don't talk about her like that!

Byakuya:*glares at him* Oh, I'm sorry! You have a reason to DEFEND her?!

Makoto:No, but still-!

Kyoko:Calm down. This isn't the time to argue. Focus.

Celeste:Yes, quite right. The murderer is still at large, and time is short.

Byakuya:Let's get to it then. It's one of us.

Hiro:Well duh! But how the hell do we PICK?!

Toko:*grabs her head* We're all GONERS! I KNEW IT! I'm too young to die! It's NOT FAIR!!!!

Akemi:*I banged my fist on my podium (which hurt like HELL!)* This can't be the end! There has to be something, some vital piece of evidence we're missing here!

Leon:Sorry, Akemi. But there isn't. Well...I guess that's pretty much it for us. Damn! If only there was more to go on, right?! We're out of clues!

Makoto:*stands up* That's where you're wrong!!!!!

Leon:The hell am I missing, then?

Makoto:Something pretty big, actually! She left us a MESSAGE. And not the one on the notepad.

Leon:Wh...What are you driving at?!

Kyoko:She left a dying message. One scrawled in blood on the wall behind her.

Hiro:That's right! What did it say?

Hina:You mean that random string of numbers?

Makoto:Yeah. 11037.

Mondo:*turns to Chihiro* Hey, you're supposed to be some kind of numbers genius, ain't ya?! The ones she left behind anything special, or what?

Chihiro:*looks away sadly* I've tried every decription in the book! Whatever those numbers are, it isn't code I know! I'm sorry.

Akemi:*I smiled at her, trying to cheer her up* It's okay, Chihiro. You did everything you could, right? That's all that matters.

Chihiro:*smiles* Thanks, Akemi.

Akemi:*I smiled, and all of a sudden, we heard Makoto shout*

Makoto:I've got it!!!!!!!!!!

*Everyone turned to look at him*

Makoto:The message wasn't a string of numbers...She wrote out her killer's NAME!

Everyone:What?!

Makoto:If you flip those marks around 180 degrees, there you have it. It's plain as day. L-E-O-N

Akemi:L-E-O-N?! That...That spells...Leon!

Makoto:That's right. Akemi figured it out! It spells out your name, Leon Kuwata!

Leon:*gasps*

Makoto:So, Leon...If you've got anything to say...Now's the time.

Leon:*gasps more*

Sakura:*folds her arms in anger* Disappointing...Leon.

Leon:Give me a BREAK! You're not seriously listening to this lying little PUNK?!

Kyoko:Maizono identified her killer from beyond the grave. A name written as her life ebbed away.

Makoto:Wrote that way because of the angle of her head. Poor girl didn't even have enough energy to hoist herself in the right direction.

Leon:Maybe someone's trying to frame me! You think of that?!

Akemi:*My eyes narrowed* Sayaka-chan wouldn't have written that for no reason, you baka! It was obviously you! You killed her!

Leon:No way! I didn't do it! Everything you've got is circumstantial!

Kyoko:Let's assume you're not the perpetrator. Care to explain why you tried to destroy evidence?

Leon:*gasps, along with everyone else*

Taka:*angrily* Somebody EXPLAIN!

Makoto:Of course! She means the charred pieces of shirt and glass ball fragments we found in the garbage room!

Hifumi:Right! I'd forgotten all about those!

Hiro:Ya know, come to think of it...I haven't seen my crystal ball in a while. Think that's what happened to it?

Kyoko:Well, Naegi. Seems you and I are at the same opinion. Puzzle it out yet?

Makoto:*nods* Here's what I believe happened. Maizono's killer was in over his head. He hadn't PLANNED on killing anyone that night. The evidence had to be dealt with and fast. Unfortunately, the Garbage Room was on lock-down. Here's where Hiro's missing glass ball comes in. Activating the incinerator through the closed gate would've been impossible for almost anyone! Our culprit had mad skills. Specifically, Ultimate Baseball Star level skills! All finished, our perp thought he could chill. Walk back to his room like nothing had happened. That, as it turns out, was his big mistake. A scrap of the burning, bloodstained shirt fell out. Gotcha. Hard evidence. He thought he'd improvised the perfect crime...When in fact, he'd left a trail leading us right to him! Deny if you want. That's how it went. Isn't that right?! Leon Kuwata!!!

Leon:*just stands there, shaking and gasping*

Kyoko:You stand accused. Now'd be the time to object.

Leon:Object...Heh. Yeah, let me think about that...YOU'RE DAMN RIGHT I OBJECT! THIS IS A BUNCH OF BS! OH-HO-HO-HO, HELL TO THE NO! YOU THINK I'M TAKIN' THE RAP?! *continues raving as Makoto wraps up the trial*

Makoto:You're the only one with the athletic chops to throw Hagakure's ball far enough and hard enough to hit the incinerator switch, and we all know that!

Leon:*still objecting* YEAH, NICE TRY BUT SCREW YOU!!!!! WHAT ABOUT YAMADA?! HE'S ON TRASH DETAIL! HE COULD'VE UNLOCKED THE GATE!!!!

Makoto:Which is why he wouldn't have needed the glass ball! He would've just used his access key and walked off without any of us having a CLUE!

Leon:*still denying* HAHA! BIG MAN, TRYING TO TRICK ME INTO FESSIN' UP! WELL, LIKE I SAID...IT'S ALL CIRCUMSTANTIAL!!!!

Makoto:*nods quickly* Maybe. But there's still one piece of evidence that links directly to you!

Leon:WHAT ARE YOU GONNA MAKE SOMETHING UP NOW?!

Makoto:The bathroom, the doorknob, the screws were removed!

Leon:WHO GIVES A FLYING RAT'S ASS?!!!!

Makoto:How exactly do you think the murderer REMOVED those screws, huh?

Leon:WHATEVER YOU'RE DRIVING AT, JERKWAD, YOU'RE BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Makoto:Well if what I'm driving at is on the money, the proof will be in your toolkit!

Akemi:*My eyes widened* Of course! In order to take the screws off, the killer would've had to use a screwdriver! And since I'm sure Makoto never used his, that means he would've used his OWN!

Makoto:*nods* Right on the money, Akemi. *turns to Leon* How about you give us a look?!

Leon:NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A SHAM! I'M WARNING YOU, DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!! BACK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Makoto:You're guilty, Leon Kuwata! *he spoke calmly after saying that* I demand you show us what's inside your toolkit.

Leon:*looks completely and utterly broken*

Makoto:Come on. What's the holdup? What have you got to hide?

Leon:*gasping and shaking*

Byakuya:Be prepared if it's used to explain. In minute (my-noot) detail, until every last one of us is satisfied.

Kyoko:And under the circumstances, not knowing isn't going to be acceptable.

Leon:*tries to speak, but can't, knowing he's guilty* N...Ne...Neeee....Ne...ver?

Byakuya:Predictable. He has nothing to say in his defense.

Leon:*just stands there, his eyes wide and his mouth agape*

Makoto:I'm sorry, man. *looks away, saddened*

Monokuma:*laughs* I'd say you kids have hashed this out nicely! Major kudos! Let's  move on to voting time! Kindly lock in your votes by pressing the switched located in front of you! Who's the guilty so and so? Feel good about your choice?

Akemi:*I sobbed and with tear-stained eyes, voted for Leon* The sad thing is...I didn't want it to be him. I'd rather it have been Byakuya. This way...voting would be so much easier.

Monokuma:And the winner is...!!! *the votes all turn up as Leon being the killer* Correct, my peeps! Sayaka Maizono's murderer was indeed...Leon Kuwata!!!!!

Leon:I...

Hina:Oh wow....*covers her mouth in shock*

Akemi:*I quickly stepped away from Leon and ran to Mondo's side. Once I was there, he held me close, as if protecting me from being Leon's next victim*

Mondo:Y-you dumbass! What the HELL got into you?!

Leon:*sobs a little* I...I didn't WANT to. I mean she was...She was...trying to kill me, right? I just...I didn't know what else to DO, okay?!

Akemi:*I buried my face into Mondo's chest, trying to suppress my sobs* Leon...

Leon:*blue-faced and in tears* WHAT IF SHE'D HAVE GONE AFTER YOU?! YOU ALL WOULD'VE DONE THE SAME THING IN MY SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *collapses on the ground, sobbing more*

Monokuma:Well, there ya have it! Excellent job dispensing hard justice, and I mean that. Moving on now to the Punishment phase!

Leon:*begs* No, please! I didn't have a CHOICE! The crazy skank was gonna kill me! What was I supposed to do?! Come on, guys! I acted out of self-defense! Special circumstances, right?! I'm not REALLY a murderer!

Monokuma:*laughs* Yes, yes. I'm sure we're all relieved to hear that! But rules are rules! Too bad, so sad!

Leon:No, wait! It's not RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monokuma:Right?! Right don't enter into it, sweetheart! You killed and got caught, which means you DIE!

Leon:*crying* N-no...*screams loudly* NO!!!!!!!!!!!! GET ME OUTTA THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monokuma:All-Star Baseball Player, Leon Kuwata, whose talents behind the plate certainly held more promise than his career as a lady-killer...I've come up with a very special method of execution! PLAY BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leon:NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Monokuma:*takes out a golden gavel and bangs it on top of a red buzzer. On a screen underneath it are the words, "Leon has been found Guilty. Time for the Punishment!"*

-Leon's Execution ((The 1,000 Blows (game) or Million Fungoes (anime)))-

((AN:Just to clarify my earlier disclaimer, I'm adding another to this chapter. I DO NOT in any way, shape, or form, own any of the Danganronpa characters or their Ultimate abilities. I also DO NOT own any of the executions Monokuma does, as well as the Class Trials done beforehand. ALL RIGHTS go to the creator of Danganronpa, Mr. Kazutaka Kodaka! Thanks again, and please don't sue me! :)))

Akemi:*Everyone was forced to watch as Leon Kuwata had a chain clasped roughly around his neck. A few seconds later, he was dragged down an empty hallway and into what looked like, ironically enough, a fenced baseball field. On the scoreboard, it had twelve innings, a score (which was at zero on both ends), and two names at the side where the team names would usually be. Kuma for Monokuma, and Kuwa for Leon Kuwata. After seeing that, we watched as Leon was bound to a pole by more metal chains, this time wrapping around his arms, legs, and midsection, assuring he couldn't move.

Suddenly, what looked like a large machine gun was loaded with several tiny baseballs. That's when it hit me. Monokuma was going to pummel poor Leon with several baseballs at full speed until he died! Sure enough, my hunch was correct. First one baseball went flying at Leon. Then a second. And before my eyes could follow it, the rest of them flew at him. The pitching machine-gun orbited around Leon, making sure that it didn't miss a single point on Leon's body. This continued until the last few baseballs hit Leon in his head, killing him.

Everyone stood there in silence. Hell, even I did. Until I saw a baseball coated in Leon's blood roll right in my line of sight. Then, I screamed loudly and everything went black. The last thing I heard was Mondo screaming my name.*

-After Leon's execution-

Akemi:*I woke to hearing someone crying* Huh? Who's crying...for me? Is it...Mondo? *Then, I heard a voice, struggling to be strong. A voice I knew all too well. Mondo's.*

Mondo:*cries, holding my hand* Please, Akemi...Wake up! I already had to watch someone be executed...If I lost you too, I couldn't take it!!!! So please wake up!

Akemi:*As soon as Mondo's tears touched my face, I opened my eyes* M...Mondo?

Mondo:*gasps happily and hugs me close* Akemi!!!!!!!!!

Akemi:Mondo...Wh...What happened?

Mondo:After Leon's...*quickly corrects himself, remembering how I reacted to Leon's execution.*I mean after Leon died, you screamed and passed out. I thought you were hurt or something, so I picked you up and quickly took you to my room.

Akemi:Mondo...

Mondo:Then, I waited. I was hoping you'd wake soon, but nothing happened. I waited for minutes, then hours. *his eyes filled with tears* I really thought...That I was gonna lose you. I thought that you...*his tears escaped* Were gonna die

Akemi:*I hugged him close. It was my turn to reassure him* I'm okay, Mondo. Besides, I can't die. I have you to think about. If I die, who's gonna love you? *I smiled* So I won't die. I'll be around to love you for the rest of my life. That's a promise.

Mondo:*smiles and dries his tears* Yeah. And...I've got a promise I wanna make right now. That I'm gonna keep for the rest of my life.

Akemi:What promise? *I gasped as he pulled off one of his rings and knelt on one knee.* Mondo...Do you mean?

Mondo:*nods* Akemi...I know we're both still in High School. But...You mean more to me than anything in this world. Even my biker gang. I want to spend the rest of my life with you...And protect you...And be the man that you wake up with every morning. The man comes home to you every night. I want to be the man you sing all your songs for. The man who holds you when you cry, and makes all your nightmares turn to dreams. I want to be your husband! So Akemi...Akemi Minako...If we somehow manage to make it out of this hellhole...Will you...Marry me? *holds his ring up to me*

Akemi:*I gasped happily and tears of joy filled my eyes* Oh Mondo...Yes! Yes, yes, yes! A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mondo*smiles and kisses me gently, slipping his ring onto my finger* I love you...Akemi Minako.

Akemi:*I smiled* I love you too. And soon I'll be Akemi Oowada. And I couldn't be happier.

Mondo:*smiles and holds me close as he falls asleep*

Akemi:*I kissed his forehead gently before I fell asleep as well. I didn't know what else we had in store. But I knew one thing for sure. If...No. As soon as Mondo and I get out of here, we'll be married and start a family together. Far away from Hope's Peak Academy. Far away from Monokuma and his damn Killing Game. Far away from anything that would dare take that future away from us!* Goodnight, my husband-to-be.

To be continued..!
