Leo

I stared at her, shock running through my body to say the least. She looked away from me and back down to the floor seemingly embarrassed.

"Really?" I asked quietly

She nodded her head and continued to look at the floor, playing with the carpet

I don't know what came over me, all I know is that I just acted on it. I turned her face towards mine and kissed her. At first she didn't kiss me back, but soon she started getting into it. I gripped her face in my hands and got on my knees, pushing my lips further into hers. Cautiously she wrapped her arms around my neck and straddled my waist.

I migrated my hands to her back and slipped them around her waist, rubbing up and down her back, pulling her more onto me. No matter how much I did, it's like she couldn't get close enough. I've missed doing this so much, I missed being able to touch her and have her so close to me. I missed being able to truly love her and show her how much I did.

She suddenly pulled away from me and got up from my lap.

"Els, where are you going?"

"We need to talk about some things. Are you coming or what?"

And then she dashed out of the door. I of course, followed her as she went outside to the beach and ran for awhile until she stopped and sat down.

"Ellie, I am getting real tired of chasing you."

She looked towards me with an unreadable expression and got up.

"Then stop. I didn't ask you to." She replied

I took an involuntary step back and just looked at her like I was seeing her for the first time.

"What are you saying?"

"Why do you have to always do this."

"What? Tell you how I feel?"

"Yes! Why when you know what might happen? Why now when I'm confused enough as it is?"

"Because Ellie, I'm trying to make sure you don't make a huge mistake by leaving because you think we'd be better off without you. Well I won't be!"

"So how long will it be until you start to stray again? Obviously I'm good enough for sex but not a faithful man." I said, my voice catching on the last part of the sentence

"For fucks sake Ellie, get over it! That's not true at all."

"I am over it, but I'm no fool. Leo, a week before you got with me you had sex with another woman. And then while you were with me, you kissed another woman. I still don't know the true story on that one anyway. Back then I accepted anything that sounded good, any stupid promise someone could fling at me. But now, now I am awake, my eyes are opened. And it's telling me that yes you may love me, but dealing with you as a person, you are all over the place and you don't know what you want! Just as long as you get your fill right?" She asked with a scoff

"So that's how you think of me?"

"Yes, that's what I think of you. I refuse to be your fucking second choice and your rebound. If you loved Donna that much back then, why didn't you just go back with her?" She asked

"Are you serious right now? Ellie, she left me, she made her choice!"

"Yet you kissed her anyway! She was on top of you! Do you really think that makes you look good? And even when I was gone you told me you had a slew of women to keep your bed warm. You don't need me." She said scoffed, walking past me

"SHE KISSED ME ELLIE! And I do need you!" I yelled after her

She stopped right in her tracks and stood there. I cautiously walked up behind her and waited.

"Why was she on top of you? Why she of all women? Why?" She asked quietly, voice quivering slightly

"She climbed onto me. By the time I even knew what was going on, you burst in and saw us. I don't even know where she came from, but that's what happened. I'm sorry Els." I said calmly

She said nothing as we stood there. I heard the crash of the waves and felt the sea air on my face and fought against the urge to touch her. All I wanted was for her to be in my arms and for us both to move past this. I just wanted things to go back to the way they were before this mess.

"I apologize." She said quietly

And I had a feeling that tonight would be the last time Ellie mentioned the kiss. Finally, we can move past it.

"It's okay. Can we please move past this Ellie? Please." I replied

She turned towards me and nodded quietly, giving me a hug. I hugged her back, burying my face in her neck and taking in the smell of her mango twisting butter that she used on her hair. I could stand here like this for hours.

"We should go to bed, it's late." She said quietly

She pulled away from me and started walking towards the house. I soon followed close behind and we both went to our respective rooms.

Ellie

we were on the beach as the sun slowly rose over the horizon. We had decided to have a late night pic-nic while whispering our secrets, only the seas air hearing them. The night was full of laughter and plenty of joy. We were carefree and full of love as we stared into each others eyes, brown to green. We both were smiling, just happy to be by the other. His hand came up to caress my face and push my shoulder length curls behind my ear, his thumbs running across my cheek multiple times.

"If you only knew how much I truly loved you." He murmured

"I bet you're gonna tell me." I smirked playfully

"As much as the stars Pet. As much as the galaxies, planets, and nebula's combined. And even then, it still isn't enough to describe."

I smiled like a huge idiot, just grinning from ear to ear at his sweet words. He always knew how to make a girl feel special.

I awoke from my dream and laid there in my bed, staring at the ceiling. That dream was a flashback from one of my many weekends at Leo's old flat. Maybe they were trying to tell me something.

Yeah, that you should stop giving him the third degree and actually give him a chance.

I hated that my inner voice was right. But what could I do now?

You could start by going in his room and making up with him.

So far I wasn't sure if it was the devil or the angel on my shoulder. But a feeling in my gut told me otherwise, I just had to get over it and go talk to Leo.

I laid there a few seconds before finally getting up and going to face my fears. Something was going to change tonight, I could feel it.
