                 A woman is just a woman, but a man is everything else. A sunken woman wails near the water, staring at the cold body of her dead lover. His spirit lingers over the waves, crimson and full of fury. His physical body is dead, but his rage lives on forever. The woman's wet hair clings to her tan skin, but as she looks down, the body that was once in front her has now disappeared. She tilts her head, gazing at the man she does not know with glassy eyes. "Why have you done this?" She chokes, she cannot gild the lily anymore, it is already hardened by the curse of time, its petals shriveled and stained with red dirt. Yes, time is a curse. The man and the woman did not have enough time, she is like a brugmansia suaveolens, an angels trumpet hanging low from the fire of the war. The man is closer to an ember, the sparks of a new flame, his reign has yet to begin, but the past provokes him. "I had to. You cannot change what I am to do." He speaks, hand clinging to the wound by his abdomen by the tears of the woman. "I will haunt you." She seethes, nose scrunched and canines glistening, trying to compose the sobs scratching at her throat. "Promise it." He then disappears, leaving the woman to sulk within the sand.

                 A woman is just a woman, but a man is everything else.

She looks up to the twinkling star — unsure if it is her tears making it shimmer, or if it's just its natural beauty. It is not a star, but a planet opposite of her own. The imprint of the body still remains on the cold sand, but will eventually be washed away. The bones in her body are trembling, her heart sinking while her blood boils. She looks past Iaheys ( the mountains birthed by the Alekoion gods ) and to the royal palace, where a statue of her grave bounded mother stands tall in the center of the gardens. She used to roam those gardens, when she was a small child, desperately seeking an adventure with her sisters and getting lost in the green of the forests, jumping into the sacred pools full of the clearest water. Her mother died long ago, a time where she can barely remember. Her girlhood was an incubation for this age of madness.

She is like an old photograph, a light glaring from the middle, an orb haunting the present. The woman thinks back to the moment where her mother took her to an old painting in the palace. It was familiar, almost too familiar. A woman sitting on the beach, pearly tears and a faint red outline of a man over the water. This was her mother's prophecy. The girl believed her mother, but in some ways, she did not. She tried to change it, even though she had no idea what it meant for her in the passing years. Those who fight against prophecy only draw it more tightly around their throats. She is at the door between worlds.

You were not born a man.

Antiléa Calési Ihteslellion cannot fight like her brothers do, she is not a man, she has her own sacrifice, not a duty. Iacchus Ihteslellion is not a bad man, but he commits sins beyond the knowledge of his own family. From the death of his wife, he mourns in the face of his own blood. A child may wail, but he would ignore. The heart of Alekos was gone, similar to how Antiléa stares off into the distance of her changed lover. Alas, the suffering hiding behind a cowardly shadow begins to show itself, but in truth, it was never truly hidden. Antiléa has met the face of suffrage two times in her life. First, the day she looked to the holo-projectors in her father's office. She gazed in horror at the sight of thousands being wrongly massacred on a far away planet. This was the republic's issue, but her heart could not take the pain. The second would come many years later, in a story not yet written. There is no way to change it now, but to look toward it with nothing but a small smile.

I      /        hello everyone! welcome to  MIRRORBRIGHT 🥹 This fic will be coming november 2026 so please be patient 🤍 so much planning has gone into this, especially with the help of my dear friends, you know who you are and i love you guys so much, i could not have made it here without you! as some of you may know, this is an adaption of my old fic, METANOIA from late 2021/early 2022, it was extremely messy and not well written so we'll just ignore that 😛 it has also been majorly revamped, as i deleted it a while back and don't remember every single key detail from it (mostly just a small synopsis that is actually so terrible and it makes me cringe reading it...) elara (antiléa) has come a long way, thank goodness, and i'm so happy with all the work i'm already putting in, and will continue to put in over the next two years!

II      /        it has been a tough journey for me here, on wattpad and in real life, but I think this story is really going to change my perspective on everything, as it will have some aspects of my own life and how i overcame those challenges. metanoia and another fic of mine, every summertime, were basically just meshed together?? if that makes sense (hopefully) but i used naomi scott as elara for a little bit and eventually scrapped the whole book all together. i would like to explain some things about antiléa and how she'll be throughout the book :)

III      /        first, I will show you how to correctly pronounce her name !! (Ann-Tea-Lee-Uh) like ant 🐜- tea 🍵-lee-uh) that's her first name, and then her middle name is basically like "Khalessi" from GOT (Kuh-lee-see) finally, her last name: (Et-teh-sell-e-in) or (Et-Teh-Sell-E-ON) either one works! antiléa will have very much middle child syndrome, she is in the middle of 5 kids 💀💀 unfortunately, she will be going through it sometimes!! she does have a twin, his name is Arziani, and he's a goof ball! I have two characters similar to his such as: Stiles Stalinski (from Teen Wolf) and Jim Halpert (from The Office) so he is going to be the comedic relief 😭 him and antiléa are so golden retriever and black cat sibling duo, i love them sm and im so excited for u guys to love them too (he's also the younger twin)! enough about Arziani tho 😤😤 back to my pride and joy! antiléa is sort of a complicated character, especially through the death of [redacted] 😃 she's based off so many of my favorite characters though, White Worm (ASOIAF), Kate Sharma (BRIDGERTON), Lucy Gray Baird (TBOSAS), Annabeth Chase (PJO), Katherine Pierce (TVD) Megara (HERCULES), and Glinda (WICKED) !! so she is quite the handful, but also the sweetest girl to those who deserve it! she will be serving princess realness, and really showing people who's boss 😤😤😤 i hold antiléa so close to my heart, and I hope you all love her as much as I do!

IV      /        i apologize for all the yapping but I'm going to expand on her siblings! so first, the oldest, acheron. he is very serious, very dedicated to his work/studies/duty,  in act 1, he's not as serious as he becomes, but when [redacted] happens, he's going to realize that not everything is permanent and that he really needs to protect his family. most of the time, he'll be off doing his own thing, but Iipromise we'll get some scenes of him! he's extremely extremely EXTREMELY protective of antiléa and when she goes to find suitors than we'll see him just disregarding them all 💀he will be 19 in act 1, and 24 in act 2! moving onto aspyn! aspyn is the youngest, she's so cutie patootie and very very reserved/very quiet and kept to herself. she is 10 years old in act 1 (6 in chapter 1 but the rest of act 1 is a timeskip!) and then in act 2 she is 16! i think she mostly gives helaena targaryen energy ??? she's such a cutie! next is astena! okay so astena won't be mentioned very very often because she lives with her aunt in the mountains, she's more outgoing/very loud/artsy/smart! her father is very against this because he has a perfect vision of her in his mind, so they have some problems and we'll see that. FINALLY, the last sibling! iryssa is a step-sibling of the ihteslellion children! the story will dive into that, but all i can say now is that she is "perfect" in antiléa's eyes. she's smart, knows how to govern herself well and can speak several languages, she's also very outgoing, very charming! she is a year older than antiléa and will be introduced at the end of act 1 :) and yes, all of the siblings start with an A (because irl, me and my siblings all have A names :)))

V      /        now, what you've all probably been waiting for! anakin and antiléa are based off of kanthony from bridgerton, soooooo yessssss, that means love triangle!! anakin has a love triangle with antiléa and iryssa, and it'll cause a lot of drama. i love kanthony so much and their trope is just ✨✨✨ ofc I had to use it here, so all credits to julia quinn for giving them to us! this story will also have aspects of little women, and a bunch of other movies/shows! they are sort of enemies to lovers?? kinda not? i mean they will have some moments where they don't like each other but they don't absolutely HATE eachother!! another couple they are EXTREMELY EXTREMELY inspired by is olivia and fitz from scandal. (skyellion is so scandal it's not even funny)
