THIRD PERSON's POV

"The vampires are at it again! They ruined our harvest, and it will take months for our vegetables to grow."-An old man complained, shaking his head at the problem.

"What do we do?! The foods we have can't feed us all!"-another man cried.

"There have been complaints about the horses, they are not used to the cold and they have been sick ever since."-a young man in his 20's informed.

"And what about the children? There hasn't been enough medicine for the children!"-a woman speak out.

A young prince who was sitting on the over sized full of jewels throne gave them a soft sigh. This is always how his morning begun. Complains in the kingdom here and there. He didn't know what to do, the moment he turns 12 he was assigned to rule the kingdom for he is the crowned prince. And he has been ruling it for 8 years. Ever since his parents died he never got to leave the palace. Signing papers, listening to the villagers complain, bringing peace to the other kingdoms is what he always do.

"I'll take care of it, leave."-He said with a monotone voice.

The villagers gave out a frustrated sigh and started to leave one by one.The young prince heard them giving rude comments which made him shake his head.

"I knew it was a bad idea to let him rule the kingdom."

"So arrogant."

"We should've let his uncle be king."

"This kingdom won't last for another year."

Taehyung stood up from his throne but was stopped by his courtier. A courtier is a person who attends at the court of monarch as a companion to the king or queen.

"His Highness, there are still more villagers left."-The courtier informed respectfully and bowed.

"Tell them I have a headache."-Taehyung said and hold on to his temple, massaging it.

"B-But His Highness--"

"Didn't I say I have a headache?"-The prince replied.

"Please forgive my rudeness, His Highness. Would you like me to get a doctor?"-The courtier suggested.

Taehyung shook his head and head to his room. On his way there he saw a familiar faces that made his mood gloomy.

"Hey stupid prince!"-Minrae called out rudely.

Minrae was his cousin, she is also a princess. Ever since he was child, The princess was always jealous of him for his ethereal beauty which many boys adored. She envied his position and throne. Because of those, She bullied him all throughout his childhood. And being Taehyung, he never fights back. He just lets her insult him. He didn't want any more of his relative to get mad at him.

"Not now please."-Taehyung said quietly.

He may look arrogant while sitting on the throne, but when he isn't. He is just a soft boy looking for someone to love him. His childhood was full of bad memories that made Taehyung for who he was now. His parents died early so he didn't get to feel his parents love. He was still an infant when his parents were killed by bandits. They were on their way from a neighboring kingdom when the bandits blocked their way. There were no sign of fighting back. They just killed them without a reason. That made Taehyung mad, his parents were killed for nothing. The bandits got away and there were no justice for his parents. Taehyung promised himself to find those bandits and bring justice for his parents.

No one showed him love except his older cousin. He was used to the insults his relatives threw at him, and sometimes he thinks its true. Even the people in the palace doesn't acknowledge him.

"You are so stupid, why don't you just gave the throne to my father huh?"-Minrae spat out.

"I-I can't do that."-Taehyung stuttered.

"Tsk. I hope you would just die so everyone would be happy."-Minrae said and glared at Taehyung. The princess left and bumped the prince's shoulder.

"I wish I would too.."-Taehyung whispered with a soft voice.

"Little cousin!"

The voice brighten the mood of Taehyung.

"Minho Hyung!"-Taehyung yelled out cheerfully as he walked towards him.

"Little cousin! You look sad, what's wrong?"

Choi Minho is Taehyung's cousin. They have been close eversince. Minho Hyung always protects him from his relatives. He always takes care of him when his sick and even when he isn't. He is like a big brother that Taehyung never had. Taehyung wouldn't know how he will live in the palace if his Minho Hyung left him. He wouldn't know how he will survive. If he even would like to survive.

"Is it Minrae again?"-His Minho Hyung asked worriedly.

"No.."-Taehyung lied and looked away from his Hyung.

"Taehyung, I know you're lying."-Minho Hyung said softly.

"Its okay, I'm used to it."-Taehyung said honestly.

"And that's not good."-The older prince sighed.

"Look, little cousin. I'm sorry for not protecting you enough."-He added.

"No hyung, it isn't your fault. You always protect me, and I'm thankful for that."-Taehyung said and gave his Hyung a genuine smile.

The older prince smiled back and gave Taehyung a hug which the younger returned back.

"Are you sleepy?"-Minho Hyung asked with a soft voice.

"Mhmm. Been up all night signing papers."-Taehyung hummed and nodded.

Minho Hyung brought him to his room and carried him to bed. Minho Hyung left when he saw Taehyung sleeping. The young prince slept peacefully on his bed. Like a baby who doesn't care about a thing in the world.

"I'll protect you, little cousin"-Minho hyung promised himself.
