Personality: Yui is kind-hearted, cheerful, full of energy, frank and stubborn girl who won't let the fact that she is a girl stop her from playing soccer with boys. She has a complex about boys saying that they are better than her because she's a girl, this makes her become hot headed and she isn't afraid to butt heads with people. Even so, she also knows when it's the best to swallow her pride and just let it go. She works harder than most people to get stronger, which shows how strong willed of a person she is. She tries her hardest not to give up even if she feels like doing just that because of her lack of confidence in herself.

In Ares/Orion, she had gained a little more confidence in herself and is able to stay calmer, especially with people like Hiroto and Haizaki. Even so she still has a short fuse if they get too much and explodes.

Backstory: Yui originally comes from England, where her mother is from, but moved to Japan when she was 5. Unfortunately because of a car accident Yui was separated from her parents, who were unconscious in the hospital. Her mother had protected her which made her come out of the accident with minor injuries. She was taken to Ohisama En temporarily until her parents were able to look after her again. Yui got along with the children quickly, being able to speak and understand Japanese because of her father, especially when she saw them playing soccer. She stayed there for a few months, letting her parents heal, but during that time she gained life long friends to her.

During middle school, she was a strong soccer player being the strongest in her mixed team but the older they got the more she noticed the difference in their physical appearances. She was the only girl to get on the team, she practiced hard to get stronger but she was never able to since the boys kept getting stronger and stronger. They kept knocking her to the ground because of the body differences making her get injured a lot of the time. She had broken her leg because of a tackle making her coach stop putting her in games, by the time she recovered she had fallen so behind that she couldn't catch up.

Yui never gave up, she kept getting stronger, she took up jogging and started to run more thinking that technique and speed would help her in the long run. She never lost hope but sadly, one of her teammates showed just how different their worlds were, that she should give up soccer since she would never be as strong as them because she was a girl. It broke her facade since deep down she was already starting to lose hope and confidence in her skills.

She wasn't in the best mental health after that day, she had given up on soccer or had planned to, this was when she met Kiyama Hiroto/ Tatsuya again, he seemed to of recognised her and asked how she was doing. He soon found out about everything, feeling sad for her he grabbed her hand dragging her to the orphanage. Everyone was happy to see her, she gained her love for soccer back while playing with them. She lost contact with them just before starting junior high, her being told that they all moved away. She was happy for them thinking maybe they had found families but also sad that they didn't tell her, had it been so sudden that they couldn't? They wouldn't even answer the phone when she called or messaged them.

She tried to join the soccer club at Raimon to find out that there wasn't one, which is when she met Endou. They with Aki started to work hard to gain new people which they managed to get nearly a full team in their second year. The girl was excited to be able to play soccer again in Raimon, thinking that if she continued to play, she would find her friends since soccer brings everyone together if you continue to play.

While in Ares, she continued to play with them but joined Raimon wanting to play against them, she wanted to challenge herself and have a friendly rivalry with them, which they were all for. This didn't stop her from being close to them, she went there to complain about how the players refused to play and that she was soccer deprived. Hiroto/Tatsuya usually the one who would listen while the others like Suzuno and Nagumo complained that she needed to stop coming here, even if they were happy to see her.

Other:

• Had an inferiority complex towards boys of her age, which she learns to accept in Raimon, after the way she was treated by her old teammates in middle school. She just hadn't found the right team that fit her and Raimon was that team.

• When Raimon, Ares, were defeated by Barcelona Orb, Yui felt extremely frustrated that she couldn't do anything. She was determined to get stronger with everyone but then they heard the plan of Raimon splitting up, she was very reluctant. She agreed but she at first didn't like the idea. Again she went to talk to Tatsuya who immediately said she should join them, the girl raised a brow questioning if it would be allowed since she knew them, but she agreed it would be worth a try. In the end she joined Eisei and fit in immediately.

• Yui, in Original timeline, didn't know Hiroto was in Aliea Gakuen, so when he approached her again she was so happy to see him that she hugged him. He had honestly missed her as well as his plan of bringing her to Aliea. They did casual talk whenever he appeared, Yui asked Hiroto what happened to them and that she tried to visit them to hear they had moved. Hiroto kept up that lie, so she didn't question him. He used to be a huge comfort, not having to worry about Aliea and could just be herself like in the past, she was thankful that he listened. When she saw he was Gran and her old friends were members if Aliea, it hit her that Gemini and Epsilon were also her old friends. She was overcome by anger and sadness that she didn't notice sooner, that she should have pushed to see them before everything.

• During season two, Original timeline, Gran (Kiyama Hiroto) watched Raimon vs Gemini Storm and found Yui again. After the match he went over to her when she was alone and started to talk to her, at first it was to make her join Aliea but slowly he started to enjoy talking to her like old times, that he forgot. When The Genesis and Raimon were meant to fight Yui looked heartbroken as she found out that all of her friends were Aliea Academy. After the fight against Raimon he went over to her again and told her to join Aliea, she just shouted at him while crying and they didn't see each other again until Raimon went to the "UFO". After Raimon won and he was about to go with Kira Hitomiko she called out to him and said she forgave him and she will be waiting for him. He looked surprised but a soft smile appeared on his face as they walked away. When they met each other again on episode 68, her believing it was better to give them all space, they became even more close.
