Backstory: Mason was abandoned by his parents when he was born, he lived in an orphanage where he met Bede and became friends with him. One day when he was 5 he was taken to meet Leon in Wedgehurst with the orphanage and got lost. He was about to cry but an Eevee came over to him with a woman who looked around 60. She had invited him to her house to call the police thinking his parents may be looking for him. On the way he helped her carry some apples that she bought, he was also extremely nice to her so when she found out he was an orphan after a few weeks she decided to adopt him hoping to give him a happy life. He reminded her of her deceased son. Mason also met Hop then Gloria/Victor later whilst they visited Wedgehurst and became close friends with them often going to visit them to play.

• Mason's starter was originally going to be Scorbunny but on the way to find Leon Eevee ran up to him and refused to leave his side. Mason understood and decided to take Eevee with him on his journey. Leon had actually also gotten him a starter but after seeing Eevee he just gave the Scorbunny to Mason not wanting the little bunny to be alone.

• Bede remembered Mason and Mason also remembered Bede when they saw each other again in Motostoke. At first it was awkward but slowly became friends again even if Bede was kinda awkward around Mason which he didn't mind at all.

• After Mason's loss in the champion cup he after a while decides that he wants to travel to different regions but he comes back to Galar a lot.
