Easter Update: Why am I lazy?!
As you can tell by the title, I'm spending this holiday morning ranting about my life just a lil'. XD
So as it's been noticed, I've spent most of the past few months RPing and.. that's it. And I know there's at least a couple people out there wondering why da heck I haven't updated here, or my new book "Heroes" (which y'all should read the pilot if you haven't already-) or even "Chibi Magic"?? (Which you should also read if you think tiny anime people are cute-)
Well, ladies and gents, may I give you my tale of wonder, exhaustion, frustration, and sanity-deprivation as I give you my summary of Why Musical Theater is Horrifically Time-consuming!
For the people I don't DM weekly, I have been present for not one- but TWO separate musical productions! The first was part of a local studio dedicated to teaching young, aspiring actors and singers to learn how much fricking work it takes to be in a musical- and by that I mean parents getting educated babysitting for their kids for 2 hours! Though, in all seriousness, older members of the studio are quite dedicated and diligent to making a fine musical- and I give most of the credit to the director's assistant of sorts who not only had a starring role, but was in charge of teaching dance numbers, working group songs, and even running whole practices! Gotta say, seeing this was her last show being a senior and all, we're all gonna miss her... I'm also gonna have to pray the director thinks not to hire me as a new assistant because WHOO BOY I COULD NOT HANDLE THAT—
*Cough* Anyways, that show was thankfully done and over with by March. So you'd think I'd be more relaxed but nooooo. There's that other show and let me tell you-! High school musical productions— ARE. VERY. STRESSFUL. Big props to those who sign up and get a STARRING role, or heck even just a supporting role cuz OH GEEZ. The first two months, starting in January, we had a lot of fun screwing around, singing and barely dancing. Unfortunately, the second those stage props were ready, it was 3 HOURS OF AGONY! Not only are you given barely 30 seconds to move an entire stage's worth of chairs and crap, but then we haven't got a single stagehand. That means even supporting characters have to set up scenes, and if you have to be the one on stage right as they have to pull back the curtain- that's scary! Then when it comes time to practice costuming- DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED! Oh lord.. I have to wear a fur coat for my character.. so hot and sticky and- ew! Oh and then 2/3 of time, your phone was taken away before practice. So considering the hours, and the fact I got home past my bedtime on several occasions... and starting April we did these 3 hour practices 4 DAYS A WEEK- you can imagine how hard it is to squeeze awake time during the week for anything.
Now, I'm sure other people have it busier, and thing is I never thought of ranting because I worried others would think I'm a wuss. But seeing how tired I've even been on VACATION even, (and also considering the performance days are THIS WEEK!!) I would like to believe sharing the heartache might make.. some people understand. Eh.. whatever it's a holiday, I'm going to have brunch hopefully later- y'all who are awake, hope you're loving life right now! And if you aren't.. well, try and look up. Or look at this story and say, "Well, at least I'm not HER."
Happy Easter my crazy duckies XD
