Nowadays, fewer people are visiting art galleries and are instead flocking to movie theatre. How can classical art enrich our lives? 

Is classical art more important than popular entertainment? 

Classical art has contributed to the culture of a society in many ways. However, nowadays, with more leisure options, people have a tendency to herd to movie theatres and show less interest in paying a visit to art galleries. From my perspective, classical art could play a more vital role in influencing our lives than popular entertainment.

Classical art has made a great contribution to our lives in many ways. First of all, classical art has fostered our souls through music, art or poems making us profoundly comprehend what a meaningful life is. For example, individuals who have basic knowledge of art can be stirred by admiring the beauty of Mona Lisa, a painting by Leonardo da Vinci. Secondly, classical art can be considered as one of the effective methods to treat mental illnesses such as depression. Some employees who feel stressed due to their heavy workload or unhappy personal life could opt to listen to classical music including masterpieces by Bach, or Mozart to find the balance of their mind.

Although classical art has not been accessible to everyone, I believe it can be more instrumental in improving our lives than other forms of popular entertainment. To begin with, people can have more knowledge related to liberal art, culture and history if they choose to learn classical art. To cite an example, those who have a passion for classical art could gain fascinating insights into the culture, history, art of the Renaissance than cinema goers. Secondly, the dramatic plots described in words written by great classical authors can be an invaluable tool for educating people. As a result, classical or liberal art has been brought to tertiary education in many countries with a view to preparing educated citizens for a sustainable society. 

In conclusion, classical art can serve as a source of pleasure that would be beneficial to individuals as it could help enhance better appreciation of the finer things in life. Therefore, I believe that classical art can be more vital and useful for the enhancement of individuals than popular entertainment.
