Long ago, humans came to the land of Velas, and made their home in a mountainous region, close to the sun. They called their new kingdom Xavia.

The people of Xavia used their culture and lifestyle to create a land rich with lore and magic.

They followed the will of the six divines, who were the all-seeing powerful gods of mythological race. They would communicate openly with the priests of Xavia and always welcomed their worshippers. As a reward for their loyalty, the divines granted the "pure souled" citizens of Xavia with the power of magic.

The corrupt high priest, Ser Venar Orlis, was angry that he and his five other council members weren't gifted the ability to have the power from the divines.

The six priests formed a following of people who all believed they had been ignored by the divines.

That group of humans used their numbers to try and bring upon the destruction of the six gods. They failed, but the divines had seen how tainted the world was. They no longer communicated with their people out of anger. This compelled the mages of Xavia to act.

The followers of Venar were exiled. The first five council members were beheaded— but Venar escaped. He made his way to the western half of Velas and founded his own kingdom with his followers, the kingdom of Eirlan.

Venar became a dictator, mad with power. He banned the use of magic in his lands, stopped all worship of the divines, and executed all mages.

For centuries, the two kingdoms of Velas have been at war. The mages of Xavia blamed the people of Eirlan for the loss of the divines and the warriors of Eirlan harbored a hatred towards Xavia for exiling them.

Velas is a land torn in two— and the bloodshed shows no signs of stopping.
