Backstory: Quinn and Austa grew up close to Cheren and Bianca, at the age of 4 their parents went to the Johto region for a few months, so Quinn stayed with Bianca and Austa with Cheren. When their parents came back they brought home Machiko, and a Pokémon for each of them. Quinn immediately was attached to Machiko and they were inseparable, Machiko was also close to Austa and they decided to be "twins" since Machiko looked like a genderbent version of Austa. So the five grew up together and were ready to explore the region as trainers, Austa and Machiko going together to get strong enough to beat Quinn!
Other: Quinn has a Sentret, Machiko has a Hoppip, and Austa has a Dodou, they all got it because Machiko came from The Kanto/Johto region(Heartgold Soulsilver)
