POV Third

Y/n: "... Why the fuck are we here?"

You look at the cabin in front of you, wondering why Fury brought you here for.

Fury: "you'll see, L/n. Just get inside."

Sighing, you open the door and enter with Fury walking in after you. As he enters, he hits the light switch, which shakes the floor a bit before it starts to lower (with you two on it) like it's an elevator.

Y/n: *trying to keep your balance* "Holy shit!"

Fury: *is unfazed* "Before we get there, there's some things you should know about."

Y/n: *holding onto the railing* "a-and they are?"

Fury: "Well, first off, Agent Carter. She wasn't sent back to the US Government."

Y/n: "Then where was she sent from?"

Fury: "She was sent from HYDRA."

Y/n: "WAIT, WHAT?!"

Fury: "Exactly. Turns out she's one of their best spies in the group, and they apparently had her get close to you to break you and destroy the Avengers from the inside out."

The elevator starts to slow down as the quietness starts to set in.

Fury: "sadly, it worked. The Avengers are no more... Or, at least, that's what the media says. At the moment, everyone is off doing their own business, meaning that no one is ready to protect the world."

Once the elevator stops, you both step out. The room you entered is giant, with a large table, a computer screen, and a board nearby.

Fury: "... And that's where you come in." *Turns to you* "You'll need to put together something better than the Avengers."

Y/n: "should I stick with the name?"

Fury: "I wouldn't, since the government has ties to HYDRA, and if the government finds out that the Avengers are back, HYDRA finds out."

Y/n: "Ok, where do we start?"

Fury: "sadly, 'We' are done. I can't stay out of the government's eye for too long, as it'll make them suspicious. That's why I want you in charge."

Y/n: "Wait, what?! I thought we were going to stick together!"

Fury: "We can't. Trust me when I say I wish I could, but HYDRA is pressuring the government to keep a close eye on me. Which is why I needed someone else. You."

Y/n: "..." *Quietly* "ishouldhavereadthefineprint" *turns to him* "Ok, then where do I start?"

Fury smiles before turning to the doorway.

Fury: "Hill. You got the paperwork?"

Maria: *steps into the room* "Right here, sir."

After she hands Nick the files, he places them in front of you.

Fury: "I would recommend recruiting these three first. Hill here will provide assistance in my stead."

Y/n: "Wait, you're leaving Maria Hill, your right hand lady, the person you trust more then anything in SHIELD, with me to help?"

Fury: "That's right, Agent." *Turns to walk away* "Don't let me down." *Leaves*

After he leaves, you sigh before Maria gets your attention.

Maria: "L/n, I should probably mention that I'm still part of SHIELD, though you won't have to worry about me getting caught."

Y/n: "... Right, thanks Hill. Now..." *Looks at the envelopes* "Let's see who old Nicky got for us."

After opening the first one, you take out the file, only for your eyes to almost shoot out of their sockets.

Y/n: "Wha... What the fuck?!"

You open the second one, then the third one.

Y/n: "... That son of a Bitch..." *Laughs lightly* "Fury, you loveable son of a Bitch."

In front of you are the three files you took out of the three envelopes. Seeing who they are, you can't stop the smile that you had.
