Chapter ♞ 14 : I Completely Forgot
After walking under the umbrella in the pouring rain, they finally reached Mikan's house as Midorima dropped her by.
"This is it." she told him.
"Okay, then I'll see you tomorrow." he said.
Midorima was about to leave when she grabbed his hand, he froze in his tracks and turned to her.
"You can stay for awhile in our house if you like, the rain is still pouring really hard. It's dangerous." she stated.
"It's fine, Sakura, I don't want to cause you any trouble." he said.
"Your not causing me any trouble, that's why let's go! I can make you some hot red bean soup." she told him and pulled him with her.
"Red bean soup...okay..." Midorima gave in upon hearing his favorite drink.
They entered the house as Mikan placed his umbrella outside, they took off their shoes and entered the place.
"Mom! I'm back!" she yelled as Midorima walked behind her.
"Welcome back, Mikan. You have a classmate of yours that is here today." her mother said as they reached the living room.
"Classmate?" she asked.
Then her mother walked towards them as she noticed a handsome glasses guy behind her daughter.
"Oh, you also brought a friend as well. Is her your classmate, too?" her mother asked.
"No, he's part of the basketball, Midorima Shintaro-kun. He lend me under his umbrella and took me home, so I thought that I should invite him here in the house..." Mikan stated.
"Oh, that's completely fine, my dear." her mother stated.
Mikan's mother turned to face the green haired guy. "My name is Sakura Akari, you can just call me Mrs. Sakura."
"I'm Midorima Shintaro, it's nice to meet you, Mrs. Sakura." Midorima formally introduced himself.
"My, aren't you very polite?" her mother laughed.
Her Mom gave them a pair of towels and they used it to wipe away the droplets of rain as they headed to the living room, then they saw someone seating on the couch, eating snacks.
"Mido-chin? What are you doing here?"
"That should be my line, what are you doing here, Murasakibara?"
Mikan and Midorima sat on the couch while wiping themselves using the towel.
"I just wanted to give Saku-chin some orange marmalade, my sister came home with a box of them." Murasakibara said as he gave Mikan a plastic full of treats.
"Are you sure to give me all of these? This is too much..." she stated.
"It's fine, Saku-chin. You love those, don't you?" he asked as she nodded.
"Is that the only reason why you're here?" Midorima asked.
"I live next door." Murasakibara said as he bit on his chips.
"What?!" the green haired boy was surprised.
"He just recently moved here, Midorima-kun." Mikan stated.
Then her Mom walked towards them as she placed a tray of snacks and juice on the coffee table.
"Here, have some refreshments." she told them.
"Thank you, Mrs. Sakura." Midorima stated as he took a glass of orange juice and drunk it.
"Wow, this looks delicious!" Murasakibara said as he grabbed a sandwich from the tray and ate it.
"Well, if you excuse me, I'm going back to the kitchen to cook dinner." her mom said as she walked back to the kitchen.
"Your Mom is so nice, Saku-chin." Murasakibara stated while chewing the sandwich.
"Agreed." Midorima agreed while grabbing a sandwich from the tray.
"Of course she is, she's the best mom in the world!" Mikan boasted.
Then she stood up from the couch and lifted the plastic full of orange marmalade.
"I'll just put these in the refrigerator, see you in a bit." Mikan stated and went to the kitchen, leaving the two boys alone.
She saw her Mom cooking for their dinner, she put the orange marmalades in the refrigerator and walked towards her mother.
"Hey Mom, do you still have some red bean soup?" she asked.
"I don't, sweetie. But I have the ingredients, I can make you one." her mother stated.
"Thanks Mom." she smiled.
"But I didn't know you are drinking red bean soup." her mother said.
"No, it's not for me, it's for Midorima-kun." she told her.
"Midorima-kun? You mean the green haired boy?" her Mom asked as she nodded.
"That guy is quite handsome and seems smart, just like Mommy's type."
"Ugh, don't think about it Mom."
"Say, are you dating him?"
"What? No! I'm not!"
"Oh, I see...then are you dating that purple haired boy?"
"Murasakibara-kun?! No. Mom, please stop teasing me."
"Then is Midorima-kun and Murasakibara-kun dating?"
"Ugh...why am I feeling deja vu?"

"Here, have some red bean soup, Midorima-kun." Mikan said as she gave her his drink.
"Thank you." he stated as he grabbed the cup from her hands and took a sip.
The flavor of the red bean soup filled his tastebuds as it had the same flavor like his original drink, but somehow, this is more delicious.
"How is it?" she asked.
"I-It's not bad, nanodayo." he stated.
"You can just say that it's good, Mido-chin." Murasakibara stated as he was the one who ate all of the sandwiches.
Midorima frowned at the purple haired boy as he continued drinking the homemade prepared red bean soup, he has to admit that it's good.
"So what are you doing here, Mido-chin?" Murasakibara asked as he opened his bag of chips.
"I shared my umbrella with Sakura and sent her home since she didn't brought hers." Midorima stated, pushing up his glasses.
"Oh, I see...your so kind, Mido-chin." the purple head stated, finishing to eat his chips.
Murasakibara munched on his chips as he remembered something important.
"Aka-chin said something important earlier, regarding the team..."
"What is it, nanodayo?"
"Hmm....what was it again? I can't remember."
Then Mikan's mother walked in the living room with a smile on her face.
"I made Dolsot Bibimbap. Would you like to join us boys for dinner?" she asked.
"Dolsot Bibimbap..." Murasakibara began to drool after hearing such a delicious meal prepared in the house.
"No, I would go home now. I feel like I've bothered you too much." Midorima stated with courtesy.
"Oh, don't think of that. It's fine, the more the merrier." her mother laughed and went back to the kitchen as she prepared the plates.
"Join us for dinner, Midorima-kun. I don't know how to thank you for letting me in your umbrella." she stated.
"It was really nothing, nanodayo." he stated as he pushed up his glasses.
"Hey Saku-chin, can I join you for dinner?" Murasakibara asked, drooling
"Of course! My Mom's cooking are the best." she stated.
"Yay, thanks." he emotionlessly cheered as he walked towards the dinning area.
"Come on, Midorima-kun. It'll taste good—you'll love it!" Mikan insisted.
"I guess I don't have much choice, fine then, I'll eat. Nanodayo." Midorima pushed up his glasses on the bridge of his nose.

The four of them sat down on the table, there was a steaming Dolsot Bibimbap, waiting for them to eat it.
"Itadakimasu." they chanted and started digging in.
"Murasakibara, can you eat slowly? We won't have anything to eat if you eat it all." Midorima stated as he began to eat the food.
Murasakibara was practically gobbling down the food, apparently, it was one of his favorite dishes. It was so delicious that he was eating fast.
"It's alright, Midorima-kun, Mom made a lot." Mikan stated.
"There is no way Murasakibara-kun can finish his plate that fast—"
"Seconds!"
"Did you said something, Sakura?"
"No, it's nothing. I take it back, Midorima-kun."
Her mother laughed at how big Murasakibara's appetite was, she handed him a huge pot of food as he began eating it.
"This is unsightly." Midorima muttered as he sighed and finished the food on his plate.
After eating the dinner, her Mom washed the plates as the rain has finally ceased. Mikan accompanied the two as they walked out of the house.
"The dinner was delicious, thank you for your utmost hospitality." Midorima stated, formally.
"It's fine, your welcome." Mikan said, waving her hands.
"Can I eat here again next time, Saku-chin?" Murasakibara asked.
"Sure!" she smiled at him.
"Yay. Your so nice!" the violet haired boy stated rather emotionlessly.
"Murasakibara! Can't you eat in your own house?" Midorima retorted.
"It's fine, Midorima-kun, I'm okay with Murasakibara-kun joining us for meals. Since it's just only me and my Mom." she told him.
Murasakibara grinned cheekily at Midorima as the green haired boy had a vein popped on his forehead.
"Learn some manners, Murasaki—"
"I remember!"
"Remember what?" both Mikan and Midorima asked.
"Aka-chin told me that we will have players from other school to fight against us tomorrow, he wanted you to gather information about those guys." Murasakibara lazily said.
Midorima grabbed his shirt and shook him. "Why didn't you tell me that earlier?!"
"Sorry, Mido-chin, I forgot." the violet haired boy apologized half hearted.
"Looks like I have to go. I'll see you two tomorrow, Sakura, Murasakibara." Midorima stated and began to walk towards his home.
"You shouldn't forget important things like that, Murasakibara-kun." Mikan scolded him.
"Yes, I'm sorry, Saku-chin." he apologized again.
"It's fine. Just make sure to tell the others the important things, okay?" she smiled at him.
"Okay~" he said.
"I would go inside my house now and go to bed, see you tomorrow at school." she told him.
"Okay. Goodnight." he spoke.
"Goodnight!" she grinned.
