Chapter ♞ 22: Study Session

The two began studying in Mikan's room as Akashi taught her the lessons she needs to know to answer the test, he was a strict teacher if she could say. Everything he teaches were flawless and perfect, you can understand it once he explains how.

"Ugh...English is so hard! Why do we have to learn when we already have Japanese?!" Mikan whined.

"That's because English is the universal language, so it is necessary to learn it. I'm actually fluent." Akashi simply stated.

"Seriously? That's amazing...unlike me, Japanese is the only language I know." she smiled sheepishly while scratching the back of her head.

"Never mind that, continue studying." he said as he was flipping the English textbook to find what topic to teach her next.

"Alright..." she heaved out a sigh and continued writing.

An hour has passed by and Mikan was losing concentration, Akashi noticed this as he puts down his book and faced her.

"Should we take a break?" he asked as the frown on her face was visible because she was incapable to answer the question.

"No need, your taking up the time to teach me after all." she declined.

Mikan declined his wonderful offer of having a break, however she remembered the fact that he was wasting his time in teaching her, it would be rude to take a break.

"What part don't you get?" Akashi sighed as he sat beside her.

Mikan blushed when she felt his shoulder bumped with hers as he leaned his face to take a closer look on the paper, she looked away and began pointing out the parts she doesn't get.

"T-This one, that one too...and this one is also a little bit hard..." she shyly says while blushing.

"That's easy, let me show it to you." he stated as she gave her the pencil.

Akashi began writing some things to make her understand English well and their current lesson, Mikan is a fast learner so it wasn't really hard to teach her.

"Like this?" she asked.

"Yes. You got it right." he said.

Finally got that part right. Mikan thought as she relaxed a little bit, but then Akashi smirked.

"Already relaxed? You still have to memorize these." he said as he finally finished a reviewer he made for her.

Her amethyst eyes scanned the reviewer, it was filled with helpful information. Though it was too many to memorize! If she memorized these, she can have full marks.

He's a demon... she thought as she began memorizing it anyway.

"It's early for relaxation, Sakura." he says as he puts his elbow on the table and rested his chin on his palm.

"Yes, sir." bubbly tears rolled down her cheeks as she began memorizing.

"It feels like I did a whole week's worth of studying in one subject." Mikan said as her face was slumped on the table.

"Good work." Akashi said while reading a book.

The orange haired girl was dead tired of the horrible study session, she has to admit that he was really strict.

"I expect you to get a full mark."

    "Please don't expect too much..."

Akashi looked at the time and saw that it was already 8:00pm at night, he closes his book and puts it inside his bag as he stood up.

"I have to go home now, Sakura." he stated as she looked up to him.

"Already?" she asked as she rubbed her eye.

"Yes. It's already late. Do you have a telephone?" he said.

    "Yeah, downstairs...why?" she stated.

"I'm going to call home." he replied as she nodded, understanding. She stood up and led him to the living room.

They walked downstairs and to see Mikan's mother preparing something in the kitchen, she noticed their presence and greeted them.

"Mikan! I made some snacks for you two, share it with your friend."

"Snacks?! Thanks Mom!" Mikan stated as she pointed at the telephone for Akashi before rushing to the kitchen.

Akashi began dialing a number at his home and told them to fetch him a chopper, after that he ended the call as he sat down on the sofa. Then Mikan walked towards him and placed the snacks on top of the coffee table.

"Here, have some snacks. Mom made sandwiches!" she stated while pouring an orange juice in his glass.

"Thank you, I'll do take it." he stated as he took the sandwich from the plate and took a bite, surprisingly, he liked it.

Mikan began reading the reviewer that Akashi made, silently as she was sitting on the couch. Then a hand grabbed the reviewer from her hands as she looked up to see Akashi.

"Akashi-kun? Why?" she asked, looking at him.

"You've already studied enough, take a break. If you kept studying like that, you'll soon forget what you have studied." he stated.

"You're right...okay." she said as he gave her the reviewer back and she sets aside.

    "Do you think I'll pass?"

"You will. As long as you don't forget the things I've taught you, you'll be able to get a perfect score."

"But I'm fine with just a regular score though..."

Then they heard a beeping car outside of the house as Akashi finished the sandwich and he stood up, grabbing his bag.

"I'm going home now, Sakura." he said as his chopper was finally here.

"I'll walk you outside." she said as she stood up and he nodded.

They walked out of the door as in front of their house was a limousine, it made Mikan surprised to see one outside their house.

    "A limousine...?" she said.

"It's my chauffeur who's driving." he replied.

    "W-Wait, chauffeur?" she asked.

Akashi's chauffeur opened the door to the limousine as the red head started walking towards the vehicle.

"I better get going, good luck in your test tomorrow. You better get it perfect." he said as he went in.

"I-I'll try my best..." she nervously laughed while scratching the back of her head. "Thank you for tutoring me, Akashi-kun."

He nodded in reply as he went in the limousine, the chauffeur closed the door and walked back to the driver's seat and began to drive.

"See you tomorrow!" Mikan waved her hand as Akashi opens the window and saw her waving.

"See you tomorrow." Akashi replied before closing the window.

A limousine...a chauffeur...is he a rich kid?! she thought as she stared at the limousine.

Mikan walked back inside the house and to see her mother lifting the empty glass and plate.

"Your friend went home already?" her mother asked.

"Yes. He did." she replied as she grabbed the reviewer and began walking upstairs. "I'll review again for the test tomorrow before sleeping, good night, Mom."

"Good night, sweetie." her mother replied as she walked upstairs.

Mikan's mother carried the utensils to the sink and began washing the plate and the glass.

"To think we'd able to meet again here...Akashi Seijuro-kun."

Akashi finally arrived at the mansion as he walked towards his father's office, he knocked on the door until he heard a voice from inside, telling him to come inside. He twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open as he walked in.

He closed the door from behind as his eyes landed on his father who was sitting on a swivel chair.

"I've come home, father." Akashi spoke with a sign of respect.

"Where have you been, Seijuro?" his father sternly asked.

"I went to a friend's house to tutor her for their test tomorrow." he replied.

"Her? You went to a girl's house?"

"Yes, father."

"Seijuro, you do know that you have responsibilities as the heir of the Akashi family, don't you? You must work everyday to improve yourself in various aspects!"

"But I am. I excel in every aspects and have met your expectations. I'm just merely sharing my knowledge with a peer."

"And who is this peer?"

"She's Sakura Mikan, a manager of our basketball team. She asked for my assistance and I lend it to her."

His father's eyes slightly widened from his statement. "Sakura...oh, you mean that little girl."

"That little girl?" Akashi asked.

"I want you to stay away from that girl, is that clear, Seijuro?" his father strictly forbidden him to make contact with Mikan.

Though Akashi didn't want to question his father so he kept quiet and comply to his order.

"Understood, father." he said.
