Chapter ♞ 7 : I'm Not Short
Aomine stared at the towel in his hands, he was surprised to see it here, in Mikan's room. He heard some faint footsteps coming upstairs as he put down the towel back on the table and rushed out of the room, he closed the door.
"What are you doing, Aomine-kun?" he turned around to see Mikan.
"Nothing." he said as he sweat dropped, nervous. If he was a second late, Mikan would have caught him in her room.
"Did you found the bathroom?" she asked him.
"Yeah..." he lied.

"Thank you for inviting us for dinner, Sakura-san." Satsuki thanked her as she sat on the door stair where their shoes are found.
"It's nothing." Mikan told her.
Satsuki saw Mikan's shoes and to see how small they were, so she decided to wear it but her foot doesn't fit the shoes.
"How adorable, your shoes are so small and cute~!" Satsuki said.
Then the two girls turned to Aomine who was putting on his shoes, they noticed how long his foot were.
"What?" he annoyingly asked.
"Nothing~" Satsuki giggled.
They walked out of the door as they bid each other farewells, then Satsuki and Aomine walked together to the train station.
Both of them were silent as they ride the train, they sat beside each other, without speaking. Until Satsuki broke the ice between them.
"Hey Dai-chan, I think I've met Sakura-san before..." she said.
"How?" he asked.
Satsuki plucked a strand of her hair and put it behind her ear, her face was showing enough distress and confusion.
"I don't know how...but I first met her here in the train station."

Mikan just finished taking a bath, she wore her pajamas as she sat on her swivel chair. There, she saw the towel on the table.
Then she dug her face on the towel as she inhaled the scent of the soft fabric, it smelled like a cologne. A men's perfume.
"Will I ever find you, my prince?"

The next day, the practical exam has begun. Each girl begun dribbling the ball, Mikan actually did great. Though some other girls failed to keep up.
Next up is passing, the girls were paired up by two as they began passing. It was going smoothly for her.
Lastly, it was finally shooting. The one thing that she was actually bad at.
Will I be able to do this...?
She looked up at the ring above her, it was too high, out of her reach. But if she wasn't able to shoot at least one ball in, the practice that she had with Aomine was meaningless.
"Sakura-san!" the teacher called.
"Okay!" she said as she gripped the ball in her hands.
Mikan gets into her shooting position as she jumped as high as she can. Then she threw the ball up in the air, her feet touched the ground while the ball hit the headboard.
Please go in!
It began to move in circular motion, slowly, as it made her nervous. Then the basketball fell on the court, it didn't went in the ring—no matter what she does, it just won't go in.
"That was so close, Sakura-san. But how unfortunate, you get an C." the teacher told her.
"Eh? Not an F...?" Mikan said.
"Yeah. I could see that you've been practicing basketball this week." the teacher said.
"Thanks..." she said.

"Sakura-chii! You did a good job!" suddenly, Mikan was ambushed by a tight hug from Kise.
"Kise-kun...I-I can't breathe..." she said as he gave her a bone crushing hug.
"Oh, I'm so sorry, Sakura-chii!" Kise said as he freed her from his arms.
"What did you just call me...?" she asked him.
"Sakura-chii, why?" he titled his head to the side.
"Why are you adding a suffix, chii, in my last name...?" Mikan asked, slightly uncomfortable.
"Don't worry. I only add —chii to people's name when they have my respect. Apparently, you are one of them." he grinned.
"I see...okay." she just laughed.
"I was really amazed that you can play basketball! It's my first time seeing a girl like you, playing basketball!" he said.
"I-I'm not really good at basketball..." she said.
"Me, too. But recently, I've been doing great in the sport." he told her.
"I didn't know that you can also play basketball, Kise-kun. You can really do anything, can you?"
"I just joined the basketball club though, thanks for the compliment."
"I see...why did you decided to join the basketball club?"
Kise turned to her with a wide cheeky grin on his face as his cheeks were slightly red.
"Someone inspired me to play basketball."
Mikan smiled back. "Oh, so that's why. The truth is...I actually had someone to teach me how to play basketball last week, he was the reason why I got high grades in today's P.E. exam."
"Really? Who was it?"
"It's Aomine-kun."
Kise halted momentarily as he was surprised that she got the ace of the basketball team to teach her some stuff.
"You mean Aomine-chii?!" he exclaimed.
"Aomine Daiki-kun, yes." she said.
"So you know him, huh?! What a coincidence! He was the person who inspired me to play basketball!"
♛♛♛
"You did great in playing basketball, Saku-chin." a lazy voice said as Mikan turned around to see Murasakibara.
"Thank you, Murasakibara-kun!" she said.
Wait, Saku-chin....?
"Did I misheard you or did you just called me Saku-chin?" Mikan asked.
"I did. Why?" Murasakibara said.
"Um...nothing. I was just surprised that you called me in a different way." she said.
First Kise-kun, now Murasakibara-kun? They are adding suffix in my last name.
"But you didn't shoot the ball in the ring, why is that...?" he asked.
"I don't even know..." she said, bumped.
"You remind me of someone..." he muttered.
"Hm? I didn't heard what you said, can you please repeat it?" she asked.
"It's nothing, Saku-chin." he said.
♛♛♛
"How did your P.E. exam go, Sakura-san?" Satsuki asked.
"I got an A in dribbling and passing, but I got an C in shooting..." she answered.
"C? Why? Weren't you able to shoot the ball in the ring?" Satsuki said.
Mikan shook her head as she sighed, "No matter what I do—I just can't. I think the ring is too high."
"Whoa, I'm surprised that you still got an C after not being able to shoot the ball. You are supposed to have a F." Aomine said.
The class ended as Mikan walked home with Satsuki and Aomine.
"Dai-chan! Sakura-san tried her best!" Satsuki hissed.
"It's fine, Satsuki-san, I know that I'm no good in shooting." Mikan said as bubbly tears fell from her eyes.
"I know that she tried her best."
Aomine ruffled her orange hair and was surprised, it was so soft and silky. Like a cat's fur.
"If you want to have a successful shoot, you must at least grow 5 centimeters or more." he laughed, mocking her height.
"I'm not short! Your just too tall!"
