Round One, Day Six
A shadow stepped out through the trees and onto a cliff. An apprentice sat at the edge, watching a marvelous waterfall.
"Just because I'm on my own, doesn't mean I ant do things right, you know. I was chosen to be leader of our group after Clovertail left." The cat turned and sat next to the apprentice.
"And then there was one," the apprentice spoke softly, but had confidence in his voice.
"Oh, I'm sorry, dear Pansypaw, but things just have to be done. Trust me, it's better off this way." The cat lunged at the apprentice, but he dodged it and landed a blow on the other cat.
Somehow, someway, the traitor managed to get Pansypaw on the edge of the cliff, and with a wave goodbye, he was shoved off.
Pansypaw has been murdered.
Pansypaw was innocent.
"Thank the Dark Forest I made it out of there alive," The cat said as the padded off.
-
"Ravenwhisper...it's Pansypaw." The leader said as she peered into the Warriors Den.
"Of course it's another apprentice," the deputy grumbled as he stumbled out of his nest and laid his fur flat. "What happened now?"
"Well, um, he was found at the end of the river, all beaten up and crushed. We figure he was thrown off of the cliff." Finchpaw spoke up, her eyes welling up with tears.
"I'm so sorry," Emberstar said kindly as she wrapped her tail around her kit. "We're gonna figure out who's behind all of this, I promise." The she-cat nodded, but turned away and ran off, not saying anything.
"That was...odd." Ravenwhisper said, and almost immediately, the leader snapped her head towards him and snarled.
"Don't you dare be accusing my kit to be a murderer!" She growled.
"I'm not, I was just saying her behavior was weird." The tom remained calm, although the leader could tell there was some sort of fear hidden in his eyes.
"But you made a promise, and now you have to keep it." The deputy swished his tail and stalked away, leaving Emberstar alone.
