To say that the day started off normal would be an understatement. Since it is Valentine's Day, everyone would be acting crazy. Most would say that love makes you do stupid stuff but Perri believes that it is just another day that people can use as their excuse for their antics.

For Perri, Valentine's Day was not for her, she didn't celebrate it and it wasn't because she hated love or the idea of love but because her birthday was overshadowed by the holiday. That's right, Miss Perrin Hart was born on the day of love and because of it, her birthday was often forgotten by everyone except her father and her brothers.

"Perrin?" a voice called out faintly which snapped her out of her daydream.

"Yeah, sorry." Perri coughed lightly as she sat up straight in her seat before turning to look at Athena.

"Everything okay? That is the third time today that you had your head in the clouds." Athena looked at the red head.

"Yeah of course everything is fine." Perri smiled at the Sargent. "Let's get to work."

Athena smiled softly before putting the car in gear and driving off.

As they drove, they got a call about a disturbance and since they were only a few blocks from the address, Perri's hand moved up to her radio that was clipped on the left side of her shirt, pressing the button before talking into it, "This Officer Hart and L727-30 are en route."

Athena and Perri arrived at the scene, they saw a couple arguing on the front porch of their home. "I got this." Perri told Athena before walking up to the porch.

"Excuse me, what seems to be the problems here?" Perri asked looking at a blonde woman and a tall brunette man.

"Where should I start? First Charlie here, shows up late to my place for a Valentine's Day breakfast and then I find out he is seeing another girl!" the blonde yelled

"She's an ex and you shouldn't be going through my phone!" the tall brunette man apparently called Charlie, yelled at the blonde.

The blonde took a step and looked at Perri, "I'm sorry officer for making a scene but I wanted this day to be perfect."

"I understand. I'm only here because your yelling is upsetting the neighbors." Perri explained to the blond.

"You should try living with her." the man named Charlie said softly.

The blonde gasped turning back at Charlie, "What's that suppose too mean?"

The couple started to argue again which caused Perri to sigh. She calmly asked for them to stop yelling and when that didn't work, she yelled 'Enough' hoping that it would get them to stop and it did. "If you don't stop yelling, I will have to arrest you for disturbing the peace." Perri explained

"Like hell you will." Charlie snapped before rushing down the steps, pushing Perri to the side before running.

Perri gasped when she was pushed by Charlie, she groaned when she started to chase after him.

A firetruck showed up which caused Athena to turn around, she watched as the truck stopped and Hen and Chimney climbed out. "About time y'all showed up."

Chimney looked at Athena as he walked up to her, "You called for an ambulance?"

"Yeah," Athena said

"Is it for the man that Perri just tackled?" Hen pointed over where to where Perri had just tackled Charlie.

"Damn, that had to hurt." Chimney chuckled shaking his head slightly.

Perri started to walk over to where the three where standing, "He's all yours." she said pushing him towards Chimney and Hen before walking back over to the blonde.

The day continued on in a haze of love and stupid. Love really does make people do stupid things, extremely stupid things. Perri thought she saw it all growing up in Chicago, but Los Angeles was on a whole new spectrum of crazy.

And just as Perri thought that the day was over and her shift would end nice and simple, but she would never be that lucky. Perri sighed as she walked behind Athena into the 118 firehouse, when she rushed up the stairs and walked over to the kitchen island.

"Hart, you have a vistor." Athena said as she walked towards her alongside Bobby.

"Who is it?" Perri asked turning around

"Your favorite brother." the voice said

The sound of the familiar voice made Perri smile and rush to hug her brother. "What are you doing here?"

"You didn't think that I'd miss our birthday, did ya?" her brother smiled down at her. The two pulled away from each other and turned to look at the firefighters and cop.

"Wait, it's your birthday today?" Bobby asked looking at Perri.

"You were born on Valentine's Day?" Chimney questioned.

"Unfortunately we were." Perri signed looking at the firefighters

Her comment made her brother chuckle, "You need to stop saying that."

"Uh before we celebrate your guys birthday," Bobby started, "...care to introduce us to your brother?"

"Oh, right, yeah." Perri chuckled. "Everyone, this is my twin brother Paxton. Paxton, these are the firefighters and paramedics of the 118 and Sergeant Athena Grant."

"Nice to meet you guys." Paxton smiled, "And before I forget, I got these." he said holding up a box. He opened the box to reveal to cupcakes.

Perrin gasped when she saw the cupcakes, grabbing one. "Red velvet. You remembered." she chuckled.

"Of course I did." Paxton chuckled before grabbing a cupcake, but the one he grabbed was chocolate. "Help yourselves." he smiled at the 118 and Athena as he extended his arm out for them each to grab a cupcake.

Bobby came up next to them and held up candles, "It's not a birthday without candles." he smiled

Perri gave Bobby a confused look, "You just happened to have candles?"

"Yes." Bobby said before placing the candles in both Paxton and Perri's candles before lighting them.

And before Perri could open her mouth to tell them not to sing, they started to sing. Perri smiled at Paxton before they below out each others candles before busting out laughing.

Perri groaned waking up to the smell of smoke which caused her to jump out of bed and rush to where the smell was coming from. She got to the kitchen and saw Paxton in the kitchen with a fire extinguisher trying to put out the fire that was coming from the toaster.

Paxton smiled when he was able to put out the flames that were coming from the toaster before turning around only to come face to face with his sister, "Oh good, you're up. I made breakfast." he smiled at her, picking up a slice of bacon and taking a bite.

"And murdering my toaster, too." Perri sighed as she walked over to the chairs that sat at the counter, sitting down.

"Hey, what happened to your toaster was not my fault. You have, well, had a defected toaster. It chose to burst into flames." Paxton told her as he fixed her a plate.

Before she could say anything, there was a knock on the door. "I got it." Perri said getting up and walking to the door, when she opened it, she was surprised at who was at her door. "Buck? What are you doing here?" she asked

Buck's smile faltered at her question, he gave her a confused look, "Uh, you texted me to bring you some coffee. Which is weird because you don't drink coffee."

"I didn't text you. I woke up a few minutes ago." Perri told him.

Paxton turned off the stove before walking over to the door, "I may have texted Buck using Perri's phone."

Perri signaled Buck to come into apartment, "Why?" she asked looking at her brother before looking at Buck.

"Because I didn't think he would come over here with coffee if I texted him." Paxton said as he walked back into the kitchen.

"Wh-What? How do you know my password?" Perri asked as she closed the door and rushing back into kitchen, "And give me back my phone."

Buck walked into the kitchen, setting the coffees down on the counter.

Paxton sighed handing Perri her phone back, "Which coffee is mine?"

Buck picked up the coffee meant for Paxton, handing it to him.

"Thank you." Paxton smiled grabbing the coffee from the firefighter and took a sip. "I'm gonna go take a shower." he said grabbing another slice of bacon before heading to the bathroom.

"Wait, are you taking coffee with you?" Perri asked turning to face Paxton.

"Yeah. It'll cold if I leave it sitting on the counter." Paxton told her before walking into the bathroom, closing the door behind him.

Perri and Buck both chuckled at Paxton's answer. Perri grabbed the plate that Paxton had fixed for her, placing it in between her and Buck. "I'm sorry about Paxton."

"It's uh, fine." Buck said. "I didn't mind getting coffee and coming over here."

"He should have taken advantage of our friendship." Perri said as she took a bite of her eggs. "And I'm guessing that Chimney doesn't mind either."

Perri knew that Buck was crashing at Chimney's apartment and probably driving him crazy by now.

Buck chuckled, "Yeah, he probably is."

"So, I thought that since we are both off today, you could show me around L.A." Perri smiled at him.

"I thought you were joking about that." Buck looked at her.

"Mostly. At first, I thought I would have plenty of time to go sigh-seeing but work has been crazy and you have no idea how tired I have been. I have been here for a few months and I figured that if anyone was going to show me around the city of Los Angeles, it would be you." Perri explained

"I-I uh don't mind. It gives me something to do." Buck told her. "I have nothing planned tonight."

"Awesome." she smiled at him as she continued to eat.

Happy Late Valentine's Day, everyone. I started this chapter a few days before Valentine's Day and then got side tracked and then had to deal with rolling blackouts due to the weather here in Texas. So if this chapter is a bit crappy, I am sorry.
