5: Champange and Fortune Cookies

~~~~~~
"I hope you are decent Buckley because I come bearing gifts, well food." Perri exclaimed as she barged into her friends apartment. "Bearing the gift of food."
Buck knew he should have never given her a key to his apartment for this reason. She had a habit of showing up unannounced, especially now more then ever. Ever since his leg got crushed, she had been spending all of her free time at his apartment. She knew Buck was worried about his future as a firefighter, Perri knew that being a firefighter was all he had.
Now that he had gotten the cast off and was now up and walking around. Buck hadn't left the apartment for weeks and everyone were starting to worry, and that is where Perri comes in, well barges in.
Buck sat up on his place on the couch and looked at Perri who had an armful of Tupperware. "Why are you bringing me food?" He asked as made his way over to the table.
"I made to much and this gives me an excuse to check on you since you aren't returning any of my calls or texts." Perri told him as he sat down at the end of the table. Once he had sat down, she smacked the back of his head.
"Ow. What was that for?" Buck glared at her.
"For not returning any of my calls or texts and making me worry. You know that when I worry, I stress cook or bake and then I stress eat." Perri said lightly. "Alright, the food I have graciously blessed your apartment with are, almond pumpkin cookie, three cheese lasagna, karythopita, bacon Mac and cheese, mega backed potatoes and my absolute favorite red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese filling and cream cheese frosting." Perri smiled as she set each out on the table.
If there was anything that she hated more anything in the world, it was when people didn't return her calls or text, well she hated other things more, but it definitely got on her nerves. When people don't return her calls or texts, it makes her worry. And with everything that has happened with Buck and him practically becoming a shut in, it made her worry.
"Why does it feel like you're trying to fatten me up and then bake me into a pot pie?" Buck questioned looking at her. Buck knew that one of the many reasons why Perrin had showed up with so much food is because her stress baking or cooking. When she makes too much food (and can't eat all all of it) she often pawns it off on her friends without warning. It was one of the many things he loved about her.
"You could say thank you." Perri said. "And who in their right mind would turn down all this fresh homemade food?"
"I'm sorry, you're right. Thank you for the food, Perri." Buck smiled lightly as he sat down at the table.
"You're welcome. I don't know what Ali likes but I figured she could just pick what she wants." Perri said as she grabbed a cupcake.
"It's just me. Ali and I broke up a couple days ago." Buck sighed as he grabbed a cookie and took a bite. He was upset about him and Ally breaking up but they wanted different things. He wanted to go back to work after his leg all healed while she wanted him to get a new job.
"I'm sorry." Perri said as she started to lick the frosting off the cupcake. Licking the frosting of a cupcake was something that she has always done since she was a little girl. The frosting was her favorite part of cupcakes.
"It's okay." Buck sighed. "We weren't the right fit." He told her as he reached for a cookie. Although the two were friends, he didn't want to bore her with the details on his love life or lack of thereof.
Perri grabbed the lasagna, bacon Mac and cheese, and the mega backed potatoes and carried them over to the fridge. She set them on the counter next to the fridge before opening it. Placing them in the fridge one at a time. Perri knew that Buck didn't want her at his apartment but she was worried about him. She knew what it was like to get hurt on the job and think that your life is over due to injury.
"You should be good on food for a week." Shutting the fridge and making her way back over to Buck.
"Can I ask you something?" Buck asked looking up at the girl. Part of him was afraid to ask her due to what most peoples thoughts are on the subject.
"Of course." Perri said looking at him resting her hands on the top of the chair leaning against it.
Buck licked his lips as he sighed, looking down at his hands "Do you think I should give up on pushing so hard about getting back to work?" he asked looking up at the red head.
Perri was a little taken back by his question, "What? Of course not." she said as she moved to sit down in the chair that she had just been leaning on. "If it is what you want, then you should push yourself until you get what you want..." she started, extending her arms to grab his hands, holding them. "...I mean don't push yourself to the point where you are going to kill yourself but enough to show that you are strong enough to overcome anything that the world throws at you. And Buck, you do that everyday, you are a stubborn son of a bitch but you're also persistent."
Buck looked at her, "Why do I feel like you've given that speech before?"
"I have, except some words might have changed and I didn't slap you around like I would have my brothers." Perri said.
Buck chuckled softly at her words, looking at her and down at their hands, then cleared his throat. She always knew what to say and she didn't hold back.
"Sorry." Perri spoke softly as she left go of his hands. Perri stood up and grabbed the containers that held the cookies and cupcakes, "I'm gonna put these away while you get changed."
"Get changed for what?" Buck asked as he watched her move around.
"For Caleb's and Katie's wedding. Paxton RSVP'd for me and he put a plus one." Perri explained to him as she walked into the kitchen.
The last thing she wanted to do is go to her exes wedding but having Buck by her side would make things a bit better.
"So...why do I have to go if you have a plus one?" Buck questioned still confused.
"You're my plus one. It'll be lame for my date to be my twin brother and you did tell Caleb and Katie that you were boyfriend." Perri said from the kitchen.
"How do I know that you aren't just using that as an excuse to get me out of my apartment?" Buck smiled at her, knowing that everyone had been trying to get him out of the apartment.
"You don't but you are the type of guy that won't leave a girl hanging." Perri smiled as she walked back over to him.
"Fine." Buck sighed throwing his arms up in defeat.
"Awesome. You'll won't regret it, Buckley. Pick me up at seven." Perri smiled as she pressed a kiss to the top of his head before walking to the door, "And wear your Sunday best."
~~~~~~~~~~~

Perrin sighed as she jogged over to the door and opened it to reveal Buck in a navy blue suit. "Wow." she smiled not taking her eyes off of him. "Come in. I'm almost ready, just have to find my shoes."
Buck sighed as he stepped into the apartment, he moved to the kitchen and leaned against the island, waiting for Perri.
"Okay, I'm ready." Perri smiled as she walked out of her room, heels in her hand.
"Why aren't you wearing the heels?" Buck asked as he followed behind her towards the door.
"So my feet don't hurt and if they do, I have my tennis shoes which I am wearing right now. The last thing you want is me being cranking because the heels are killing my feet." Perri explained as she opened the door, signaling him for him to step out first.
Buck chuckled as he walked out of the apartment and watched as Perri walked out behind him and locked the door. "Ready?"
"As I'll ever be." Perri sighed looking down. "Come on, let's boogie."
~~~~~~~
Perri and Buck walked into the ballroom of the hotel that was being used for the reception, "Wow they went all out." Perri said as she looked around.
"They definitely did." Buck said looking around "Everything is going to be just fine." He reassured her knowing that she still wasn't comfortable with being here.
"I hope it's open bar." Perri sighed as she stopped walking which made Buck chuckle.
Three hours into the reception, Perri was continuing to push her all the feelings she had down with food and champagne.
"Surprised to see the two of you here." Caleb said as he walked over to Buck.
"It took some negotiating but she came around." Buck smiled lightly, taking a sip of his champagne. His eyes were on Perri who was certainly talking to a girl in a blue dress.
"I'm guessing you didn't do much talking." Caleb chuckled as took a sip from his champagne.
Caleb's comment made Buck chuckle slightly mocking Caleb's chuckle. "I told her if she came her today, that she can drag me to something that I don't want to do. Gives her a chance to make me miserable since she's miserable now."
"Perri would like that. She would say that it would 'balance the scales' or something." Caleb said shaking his head.
"Yeah." Buck said softly taking a sip of his champagne.
"So how did you and Perri meet?" Caleb asked looking at the man next to him wondering what he was going to say.
"We met at work. My boss's wife is a police sergeant and Perri was riding with her and she introduced us. At first, we hung out as friends and then well, you know the rest." Buck said as he looked anywhere but at the guy next to him.
Buck didn't know what he hated more about Caleb, the fact that he cheated on Perri or the fact that how he was talking about her as if she was the bad guy.
"I have a feeling that you don't like me very much." Caleb snarked looking over at Buck.
"I don't but I decided to play nice for Perri, just because she's not happy to be here because of you at least she is happy because I am with her." Buck told the man in front of him with a smug smile appearing on his face.
"Wow, you really like her. When we first met, I wasn't really sure if the two of you were dating but from the way that you are puffing up your chest, your feelings are clear as day." Caleb said looking at Buck, a cocky smile appearing on his face.
Although Perri was eating her feelings away, she looked around wanting to see where Buck had gone off to. When she saw that he was with Caleb and that the two were talking so she didn't worry until she saw Buck look like he was about to hit Caleb, not wanting to make a scene, she made her way over to the two.
Before Buck could say anything else, Perri had made her way over to them. "Buck, I want to show you something." she smiled as she pulled Buck away, out to the hall.
"What are you doing?" Buck questioned looking down at Perri, his anger disappearing once their eyes met.
"Stopping you from beating the hell out of Caleb. I might not know what he said but beating him to a pulp is not the way to deal with him." Perri said. "And no wants to kick his ass more than me but it's not worth it."
"And what is the way to deal with him?" he asked looking at her confused and wondering what she was going to say.
"This is how..." Perri smirked holding up a key card.
"What is a key card going to do?" Buck asked confused what she was trying to tell him.
"It's the key card to the honeymoon suite. I might have swiped it from Katie when we were talking and gave them our key card." Perri smiled as she explained what she had did.
"Honeymoon suite?" Buck smiled at her.
"Yep. I figured we could order some room service or something and just rake up their bill." Perri smiled. "The perfect kind of revenge."
"You're are evil. Beautiful but evil." Buck smiled at her as he offered her his arm.
"I know." Perri smirked as she looped her arm through his and walked to the elevator with him.
~~~~~~~
Perri's and Buck's laugh filled the hall as they walked down the hall. "I still can't believe you stole the key card. What are you going to do when they find out?" he asked as he followed her down the hall.
"Tell them that they owe me for him cheating on me with my best friend and my best friend sleeping with my boyfriend." Perri sighed as she looked at the room numbers trying to find the Honeymoon suite.
"Wow. Still not over it are you?" Buck asked looking at her. "I mean, I don't blame you. You have every right to be angry."
"Not even a little bit but praying that karma will do something to them helps me sleep at night." Perri smiled as she walked. "Where the hell is the room?" she asked as she continued to walk down the hall.
After a few more steps, the two finally arrived at the end of the hall and the Honeymoon suite. Perri put the key card into the lock and pushed open the door and walking in.
"Sweet baby Jesus..." Perri exclaimed as she walked further into the room.
Buck chuckled at her comment, "What now?" he asked looking around and then looking at her.
"We..." Perri started as she walked over to a table where a bottle of a champagne was sitting in a bucket of ice. She lifted the bottle up and turned back at Buck, "...have some fun."
"Okay. We have something to eat, what are we eating?" Buck asked looking at her.
"Chinese. I might ordered us a little bit of everything on our way up." Perri smiled as she opened the champagne and poured the liquid into the glasses.
After handing Buck a glass of champagne, she picked up the other took a sip before looking over at the bed. "Well that's classy." she chuckled pointing to the heart shaped bed.
"Not as classy as the mirror on the ceiling." Buck said looking up at the mirror right above the bed.
"Classy and kind of creepy." Perri chuckled before taking another sip of her champagne.
The two were sitting at the edge of the bed, talking and laughing as Perri pulled out the containers of food onto the bed, "We are definitely going to hell for this but it's totally worth it." Perri said before downing the rest of her champagne.
"Maybe but they definitely had it coming especially Caleb." Buck said as he grabbed a pair of chopsticks.
Perri the fork that was in the bag before grabbing a container, opening it to reveal chow mien and taking a bite.
Buck chuckled as he watched Perri, "Do you not know how to use chopsticks?" he smiled at her.
"I could lie and say that I do but you'd find out sooner or later." Perri told him with a small smile.
~~~~~~~~
Perri and Buck spent the rest of the night drinking champagne, eating, talking and laughing. It wasn't long before Perri stood up and extended her arm out towards the firefighter.
"I think you owe me a dance, Mr. Buckley." She smiled at him.
Her words made him chuckle, "I think that it's you who owes me a dance." He smirked softly as he stood up and looked down at her hand.
"And why's that?" Perri asked copying Buck's smirk.
"Lots of reasons why but the only one that comes to mind would be that you look amazing." Buck smiled down at her.
It was true, the pastel pink dress that she was wearing for the wedding looked great on her. And her red hair softly cascading down the front of her shoulders was a sight.
Perri couldn't help but stare at the man in front of her, she forgets how much taller he is than her. "You look amazingly hot." Her smile grew as she checked him out.
Buck chuckled, licked his lips before grabbing her hand and pulled her against him. Heat was practically radiating off of them as they stared into each other's eyes.
Once their bodies collided against each other, Perri snaked a hand up to the back of his neck and pressing her lips to his softly. Buck's hands wrapped around her waist, kissing her back a bit harder. As they feverishly devoured each other, Perri pulled away smirking up at Buck before moving and pushing him down onto the bed.
Buck looked and smirked at Perri when she pushed him onto the bed, his smirk grew when he sat up and pulled her onto his lap. Kissing Perri was a dream come true for Buck, he had imagined what it would be like to kiss her and now he knows and he never wants it to ever end. Buck's blue eyes trailed up and down her body as she sat on top of him, his hands moved from her waist to her back finding the zipper of her dress.
Perri smiled as she bit her lip, her hands rest on his neck. She had thought of this moment a thousand times, each time a bit different. And kissing Buck for real was so much better than kissing him in her dreams. Feeling his hands make their way from her waist to her back and slowly unzipping her dress caused her hands to move to the buttons of his shirt.
It didn't take long for their lips to reconnect, Buck pushing down Perri's dress from her chest as Perri worked on unbuttoning his shirt. A moan escaped from Perri's lips feeling Buck's cold and calloused hands on her now bare waist, she smiled as she deepened the kiss as her hands moved to his shoulders and pushing his shirt off before tossing it to the floor.
