BETRAYAL.
A word Sophie was all to familiar with.
Something that, even though the last time she felt it was so much more drastic, felt worse this time around.
Because she hadn't loved Amelia platonically. She had really, actually loved her. They would have run away.
Got married.
Adopted kids.
But now, as Sophie wrote the last thing she ever wanted to write, tears streaming down her face and splattering onto the phone screen, it all disappeared.
Thoughts of being normal.
Thoughts of having love.
Sophie: Dear Amelia,
I'm sorry I wasn't enough. I'm sorry you had to deal with me, to hear my woes.
You'll be happy to hear, I'm sure, that I will no longer bother you, or anyone else, ever again. I plan to wipe myself from the list of troubles on this earth. You were my lifeboat, but now you have disintegrated beneath me, and I guess it's about time I let myself drown.
No water.
No bullets.
Just pills.
Sophie hit send, and walked into her bathroom, letting nothing hold her down.
It was over. She would finally see her family again.
Or, if not, she would welcome JD in Hell.

Amelia almost threw her phone to the other side of the room, when she read Sophie's text.
This was it. Unless she did something now, it would be over.
She rushed out of the house, passing her father too quickly for him to do anything. She knew exactly where Sophie lived, after seeing her on the bus route so many times.
She dialed 911 on the way.
'911, what's your emergency?' said the operator on the other side. Amelia choked back tears as she ran.
"Yes- um- my girlfriend- I mean, my friend- she-"
'Please calm down, miss. What's the situation?'
'M-my friend- Sophie- she, she's going to kill herself-" Amelia's lungs began to heave from running so much. The operator typed something on the other side.
'Alright, can you tell me your name, and where your friend lives?' She asked kindly, and calmly. She seemed to be the exact opposite of Amelia right now. She neared the house as quickly as possible, turning the block and seeing Sophie's house at the end of it.
"Am-melia M-miller." She said in shaking breaths. "5783, B-bull RD."
Amelia couldn't stop the tears, as she thought of what she'd done. She'd made the one person who ever listened to her, the one person she loved, kill herself.
She'd never forgive herself, or her father.
'Okay. Thank you, Amelia. We'll send over an ambulance and the police right away.' the operator said. Amelia hung up before she could get another word in.
Two more houses.
One more house.
There, on the left.
Her one chance of saving Sophie begins now.
