As the day progressed, the two sat down on a bench draped with different pride flags. Amelia had snagged them both lemonades with the little bit of money she had brought, Sophie knew she was doing her best not to stare whilst she struggled just to hold on to the cup.
"This day has been great!" Amelia said, and Sophie thought the same thing. It had come to a shock to her to see Amelia here today, but it meant everything was so much more fun.
So much more fun then coming alone.
Sophie just simply nodded though, and was out to sign something when she felt her phone vibrate.
Eliza(Mom): I'll be coming to get you soon. Meet me at the gate?
Sophie hovered for a second, before smiling as she decided what to say.
Sophie: Actually, can I stay over @ a friends house instead?
Eliza(Mom): A friend's house?
Sophie: Yeah.
Eliza(Mom): Okay then! Have fun!
Sophie: Thx!
Sophie mentally whooped for joy. This was going to be great.
'Hey, do you want to spend the night at the waterfall with me?' she signed to Amelia. Amelia's face lit up, but then her shoulders sagged.
"I don't know. My dad probably wouldn't allow it." she said, sadly. But Sophie refused to just give up.
'Just tell him you're staying at a friend's house.' she signed desperately. Amelia tapped the side of her mouth, deep in thought.
"Ya'know what? Why not!"

Amelia couldn't refuse a night at the waterfall with Sophie. Her father might hit her, but that didn't really matter, honestly.
Amelia stood up, tossing her empty lemonade into a nearby trashcan. Sophie hadn't finished hers yet, but Amelia saw her throw hers away anyway. Probably because she was struggling to hold it.
Amelia waved her hand for Sophie to follow, and she did. They walked around for a little bit longer before deciding to leave, around five or so in the afternoon.
"Hey, do you want to grab a bite to eat. We didn't have lunch. All we had was a lemonade!" Amelia asked, with a laugh. Sophie nodded whole-heartedly.

After they had eaten, bringing left-overs with them, it was already quite dark outside. Amelia hovered closer to Sophie, slightly afraid. She knew what happened to girls in dark streets.
'Don't worry. We're safe.' signed Sophie, no doubt noticing Amelia's anxiousness. Amelia smiled nervously and nodded. She felt a need to fill the silence at first, but after a while, it was okay.
Not half bad, just spending time with Sophie.
But when would that ever be bad?
