water

Sophie continued to doodle Amelia throughout the day, eventually doodling her and Amelia together. There was a pride parade coming up over the weekend, and she planned to go. It was ridiculous, how she had only known Amelia for a week.

When lunch rolled around, Sophie walked out and instantly noticed that Amelia wasn't there. Perhaps she was at the waterfall?

Taking her lunch with her, she walked into the trees and through the fence. Sure enough, Amelia was there.

In a bathing suit.

In a bathing suit.

Sophie felt her cheeks grow warm as Amelia turned and smiled at her.

"Hi! I thought it would be fun to swim a little. Sorry I didn't tell you." she chimed, feet in the water.

'It's fine.' Sophie signed, hands jittery. There was no way she was going to survive an entire hour of watching Amelia swim. If this was an anime, her nose would be bleeding. Amelia splashed in the water, while Sophie munched on her sandwich, trying not to become a tomato. She was staring intently at her sandwich when suddenly she was soaked in cold water. She shivered and looked up in shock, to see Amelia giggling uncontrollably.

'You're gonna get it now!' she signed hastily, jumping into the water and splashing Amelia violently.

Amelia laughed, as Sophie splashed her. Soon, the two were in a full out water fight. As Sophie's clothes got wet, you could see the thin outline of Sophie's rough skin.

Amelia ignored it.

She made sure to respect Sophie's space as they played, but other than that they showed no mercy. Eventually, the got tired out and laid on the rocks, panting and dripping with water.

"That... was so... fun!" Amelia sputtered, joy bubbling up inside of her. Sophie nodded, grinning. Amelia sat up, and heaved out a big sigh. "C'mon, let's get dry."

She threw Sophie a towel, and Sophie dried her clothes and hair of in a very rushed way. Her hair was short, little shorter than shoulder length, and a brilliant blonde color. Amelia didn't care much for her red hair, or her freckles. Sophie had fair, unblemished skin. And Amelia could work out every fleck of gold in her ocean blue eyes.

Okay, wow. Maybe Amelia was falling for Sophie. In which case, their friendship would get really awkward.

Besides, her father would never allow it. He was a very extreme Christian, and made a big deal about anything like gay rights. He pointed it out painfully too much.

But right now, none of that mattered, right now, it was Amelia, Sophie, and the waterfall.
