Author's notes:
Welcome to the first Chapter of "Pokemon: Alpha and Omega". This will probably be another long story like Secret Prince, so brace yourself. If you haven't read the authors notes chapter before this please do, it is, in my opinion, important.

I do have one question for you. As you will see later in this story, I decided to put a picture of how Serena looks in her new outfit. I didn't make the picture, I just found it online. What I did was describe Serena's appearance, then put in the picture. My question is, would you like me to continue doing that sort of thing, occasionally putting in pictures of what I'm describing? Please tell me in the comments.

Ash and Serena: 18

Ash was returning home to Pallet Town after his adventures in the Alola region. He stood upon a hill overlooking the small town, and took a deep breath. "Smells like home buddy," Ash said to his faithful yellow friend sitting on his shoulder. "Come on, let's go home."

Ash walked casually, happy that it wasn't cold. It was spring in Kanto so sometimes there were still cold days. Luckily for Ash it was quite warm, as he had no warm clothes. Being in Alola for a little over a year, all he had were tee shirts and shorts.

This time heading home was different, unlike with other regions Ash didn't compete in the league. The Alola league was canceled this year due to the Ultra Beast incident, which scared away a lot of trainers. Due to this, the Pokemon League decided to cancel this year and have the league next year, when hopefully more trainers would return. Since Ash already qualified for the league he had full intention of returning, but wasn't sure if it would be next year or not.

The positive to this though was that Ash now had time to work with his other Pokemon with using the Z crystals he had obtained in the region. Those combined with Greninja, who returned to him while he was in the Alola region during a battle against an Ultra Beast, Ash believed that his next league would be his one to win.

As Ash arrived at his home he put his hand on the door knob, but hesitated to open it. "Pika," said Pikachu, confused why Ash hadn't opened the door yet.

"I don't know why buddy, but I've got a good feeling something good is about to happen," replied Ash with a smile.

Ash then opened the door, "Mom, I'm home," Ash called out as he walked in.

"Ash, welcome home," Ash's mother Delia said as she walked over to Ash and gave him a hug.

As Ash and his mom hugged, he and Pikachu smelled the air, "I don't know what your cooking, but it smells delicious."

Delia giggled a little as she broke the hug. "It's not me that's cooking. You have a special guest who wanted to make a special dinner for you when you arrived," Delia said with a smile.

Ash looked confused as Delia took his hand and lead him to the kitchen. Once in the doorway, he saw a young woman with honey blonde hair, brown boots, blue jeans, and a brown shirt that showed her mid section, and a blue ribbon tied around her wrist, working in the kitchen.

"Serena," Ash said shocked and with a slight blush on his face. She turned around with a bright smile and a blush on her cheeks. "Hey Ash, welcome back," she responded.

Serena turned back around to put a tube of icing back down on the counter. When she turned back she was caught off guard by Ash who pulled her into a warm hug and rested his head on her right shoulder.

This made Serena blush even more, which Delia noticed as she smirked at them. Serena returned the hug and melted into it.

Ash then looked at Serena curiously, "not that I'm not happy to see you, but what are you doing here? I thought you went to Hoenn to study contests, to help you become a better performer so you can become Kalos Queen?"

"I was, I finished in Hoenn and went back to Kalos about a month ago, then I trained under Palermo for a little while. That's when she gave me an opportunity, that I will tell you all about over dinner," replied Serena.

Just then the oven started making a beeping noise. Serena ran over to it, turned off the timer, put oven mits on, and pulled out a delicious looking lasagna.

"Well dinners ready," Serena said with a smile that captivated Ash's eyes.

Yes the food looked good, but Serena's smile was what kept his eyes focused on her, and only her. Delia noticed Ash and snapped her fingers in front of his face.

"Huh," said Ash confused as his daze was broken.

"Ash go wash up for dinner," Delia told him.

"Oh yeah," Ash responded.

Ash released all of his Alola Pokémon and introduced them to Delia and Serena. Last time Delia saw any of them they weren't evolved, leaving her a little sad when she saw 'Litty' was now fully evolved, and too big for her to hold in her arms. Ash then put out their food, and went to go wash up.

When Greninja saw Serena was there, despite not showing it he was very excited. He was even more excited when Serena released Braixen and her other Pokémon to give them their food. As soon as Braixen saw Greninja her heart skipped a beat and she blushed. Greninja saw that no one was sitting on the couch and thought that would be a good spot to eat their meal together. He then walked to her as he carried his food.

"Would you like to eat together?" Greninja asked Braixen nervously.

"I'd love to," Braixen replied excitedly.

She was about to bend over to pick up her food, but Greninja beat her too it and carried it to the couch.

Pikachu felt the same when he saw Sylveon. He then suggested them eating together on a soft chair. Sylveon blushed as she nodded, and the two sat very close as they ate their meal.

Everyone was eating the delicious dinner made by Serena. As they ate Ash and Serena both shared stories about their journey over the past year.

Eventually Ash had told everything that happened in Aloha, and Serena finished talking about Hoenn.

"Sounds like you enjoyed Hoenn," commented Ash as Serena was finishing her stories.

"I did, except for the creep at the end of my first contest," said Serena.

"Wait, what creep," asked Ash.

"Oh sorry, I skipped over that part, it's actually how I met your friend May."

Flashback

Serena was walking out of the arena after her first contest. She didn't win, but managed to come in second, losing to a girl named May.

Serena was walking back to the Pokemon center when suddenly a rose appeared in front of her face causing her to stop. She followed the rose back to a guy about her age with green hair.

"A beautiful rose, for a beautiful woman," said the guy.

Serena sweardropped, "uh no thanks," replied Serena, as she didn't want to give the guy the impression she was interested.

Serena tried to walk away, but the guy jumped in front of her blocking her way.

"My name's Drew. Sorry you lost, in my opinion you should have won based on you beauty alone," said Drew.

"Umm thanks, but sorry, I'm not interested," said Serena as she tried to walk away.

However Drew wouldn't take no for an answer. "Come on, how about dinner tonight. I know this nice romantic restaurant I know you'll love."

"No thanks," said Serena as she tried to get away from him.

Drew then grabbed her right hand and pulled her towards him and held it over his heart. "Then give it back," said Drew.

"Give what back," Serena asked, both confused and irritated by Drew's actions.

"My heart, because you've stolen it," said Drew.

Serena sweardropped, unfourtunatly for her somebody else was getting the wrong idea about what was going on.

"Drew what's going on here." Drew let go of Serena's hand and turned around quickly.

"May, my love. I was just looking around for you when this girl just started flirting with me," Drew lied as he pointed to Serena.

Serena was shocked and angry by this, but Drew continued before she could respond.

"I told her I had a girlfriend, but she didn't seem to care. She just kept going on that she was more beautiful than any other girl here," Drew continued.

May's eyes darted at Serena angrily, 'how dare this girl flirt with my boyfriend,' she thought.

"Wait a minute, that's a lie. He started flirting with me, even after I told him I wasn't interested," Serena said trying to convince May.

"You think I'm going to believe that? Tell me why should I believe you over my boyfriend," said May.

Serena thought for a second, she couldn't think of any way to get her to believe her. Serena had the truth and that was it.

"All I have is the truth. And I'm not going to quit trying to get you to believe it till the end," said Serena as she grabed onto her blue ribbon.

Those words reminded May of someone, Ash. As did Serena's battle style.

"You won't give up till the end," asked May. Serena nodded. "Where did you learn that from," asked May.

"Someone very special to me," said Serena as she grabbed her ribbon.

"Was that the same person you learned how to battle from," May asked again.

Serena nodded, 'could she know Ash?'

Drew was starting to get nervous at this point, but knew if he tried to get away it would certainly make him look guilty.

"What's his name," May asked, felling confidant she knew Serena's answer.

"Ash, Ash Ketchum,"  Serena replied.

May looked into Serena's eyes when she said Ash's name, her eye's were full of love. The kind of love that told her that Serena would never flirt with any other guy.

Upon hearing this, May spun around and punched Drew in the face. Drew fell to the ground and grabbed his bleeding nose.

"What the hell May," Drew said as he tried to stop the bleeding.

"That's for lying and trying to cheat on me," said May as she leaned forward and glared at him with her hands on her hips.

"What? Your going to believe this girl you just met over your boyfriend," Drew cried out.

May straightened up, "yes. Now get out of my sight, we're through."

Drew's eyes widened in disbelief. He thought he could get her to believe anything he said. After all, he got her to come with him to Johto and leave Ash before she realized her feelings for him.

Drew stood up, "fine, but good luck finding another guy who can put up with your shit."

Drew then took off running to the Pokemon center. May stood there facing away from Serena, with her eyes closed as she fought back the tears.

"I'm sorry for any trouble I may have caused," said Serena.

"Dont be sorry. I heard rumors he was a cheater, I just didn't want to believe them," May replied as she turned to face Serena.

"I'm courious, how did you know you could believe me," asked Serena.

"Simple, your eyes," May replied.

"My eyes?" Serena replied curiously.

"When you said Ash's name your eyes were filled with so much love, I could tell you would never do anything to hurt him," May explained.

This made Serena blush.

May laughed, "come on, let's grab some food, my treat. I'd like to hear about your time with Ash."

"Sounds good," Serena replied with a smile, as the two new friends walked off to share their stories.

Back to present

Serena finished her story, without mentioning the parts about May saying she loved Ash.

She looked over at Ash and saw an angry expression on his face, and his hands balled up into fists with his knuckles white.

"Ash are you ok," asked Serena.

But Ash didn't respond, he was feeling a whole range of negative emotions towards Drew right now, and many thoughts involving him beating Drew senseless.

"Ash," said Delia trying to get Ash's attention, but again nothing.

Serena reached over and put her hands on his left. This caused Ash to snap back to reality.

"What? Did you guys say something," Ash asked confused.

"Ash are you ok? You looked so angry and your fists were so tight your knuckles were white," said Serena with a concerned look.

Ash looked into Serena beautiful blue eyes and just felt all the anger melt away.

"I'm sorry, just hearing what you said about Drew made me so mad." Ash then put his right hand on top of Serena's hands, "I'm sorry if I made you worry." Serena blushed madly.

Delia smiled as she saw their behavior, 'they both really do care about each other alot. I'd say just as much as Red and I did,' Delia thought to herself.

"So Serena how about you tell Ash why your here," said Delia, causing the two teens to break their focus from looking into each others eyes.

"Oh that's right," said Serena as she realized what she was doing. "Ok, so after I was done in Hoenn I went back to Kalos to start training under Palermo. I was there for about a month, and just a few days ago she told me about the Torrent region. They are going to be starting showcases over there soon and Palermo asked me and a few other performers to go over there and promote the showcases by putting on some performances as an opening for each of the showcases," said Serena.

"That sounds great, but I still don't understand why your here," said Ash.

"Well after she told me about it I looked into the region. They don't have any exclusively native Pokemon in the region, but apparently the region is known to have some of the strongest fire and electric type Pokemon in the world. As well as one of the toughest leagues. It's said that the gym leaders there could beat any elite four member from any other region," Serena explained.

Ash's eyes lit up with excitement upon hearing this, which made Serena smile as she could see, that even though it's been over a year and Ash seem to have matured alot, he still loved the idea of a tough battle.

Serena then continued, "after I learned all this I immediately thought of you, so I asked Palermo if I agreed if I could bring someone with me. Well she agreed, so I called here to find you and ask if you wanted to come with me. That's when your mom told me you were going to be here in a few days and invited me over to meet you when you arrived. So I took the next flight here and told Palermo I would call her to tell her if she was going to be buying one or two tickets."

Ash's eyes widened. Serena smiled as she blushed, and took Ash's hands in hers, "Ash, would you like to travel together, just the two of us through the Torrent region," asked Serena with eye's full of hope.

Ash was so excited to go with Serena he was about to scream yes, but then something hit him. His mom, he hadn't been home for about a year, would she be ok with this.

Luckily Delia knew this plan already, and could see Ash wanted to go, "Ash go with her."

Ash snaps his head towards his mom, "are you serious? I know you say you wish I was home more."

"Yes I'm serious. I do want you home more, but I've got a feeling you'll regret not going. I don't want to be the one to stop you," said Delia.

"Thanks mom." Ash then turned back to Serena with a big smile, "you heard her, we're going to the Torrent region," Ash said with a smile.

Serena lunged forward and hugged Ash, causing him to blush. Serena then looked at Delia and mouthed, thank you.

Ash and Serena then broke their hug and Ash leaned back in his chair, "this has been a great evening. First I come home to find Serena here, then I find she made a delicious dinner, and now I'm getting ready to go with her on a journey through a new region. How can this get any better."

"I know how," said Serena as she stood up and walked away from the table.

Ash looked on curious to what she ment. Serena walked back with a plate in her hands, holding it just high enough for Ash not to see what was on it. Ash's mouth watered as Serena put the plate down, revealing fresh baked macaroons.

"Well, is it better now," asked Serena.

Ash took one and put the whole thing in his mouth and chewed. "Oh I missed these. Well you've done it Serena you've made this evening better," Ash said after he swallowed the cookie.

Serena smiled, "Well I'll be sure to make plenty on our journey together."

Serena and Delia both picked up a cookie and ate them. As they did this Ash looked at Serena as he thought, 'now it's my turn to try and make tonight better.'

Everyone ate Serena's cookies as it got late.

"Well I'm heading to bed now. Now don't stay up too late you two, you need to prepare to leave for the Torrent region," said Delia as she stood up.

"Dont worry mom, good night."

"Good night Ms. Ketchum."

"Serena dear, you can just call me Delia."

"Ok, good night Delia."

With that Delia went to bed.

"You can head to bed Ash, I'll clean up," said Serena as she stood up and began to pick the dishes up off the table.

"No it's ok I'll do it," said Ash as he and Serena both tried to pick up the same plate.

They both blushed as they looked at each other.

"Why don't we just work together," suggested Serena.

Ash smiled, "Sounds good."

The two teens then began cleaning the kitchen up from dinner. As Ash and Serena worked they talked and joked. The way they worked together was fluid, as if their movements were second nature, like they've been doing this for years. From the outside looking in, they looked like a pair of newlyweds taking care of their first house. And that is how it felt to both of them, although neither one would say it.

"There all done," said Ash as they finished.

"Yup. Well I think I'm going to go to bed," said Serena.

Ash took a deep breath, 'it's now or never,' Ash thought.

"Actually, would you like to join me. There's something I like to do every time I get back from a journey," said Ash hoping she would say yes.

"Sure, what is it?" asked Serena.

Ash smiled, "grab your jacket and shoes, I'll show you."

Serena smiled and they both walked out of the kitchen towards the front door. But stopped as they entered the living room.

"Aww, isn't that cute," said Serena.

As they entered the living room they instantly saw Greninja and Braixen asleep on the couch, with one of Greninja's arms wrapped around Braixen holding her close. As well as Pikachu and Sylveon asleep on a chair cuddling with one of Sylveon's feelers wrapped around Pikachu.

"Well looks like I'm bringing Greninja with us also. I don't want to be the one to break those two apart," commented Ash.

They then quietly put on their coats and shoes and went outside.

It was cold outside, so cold they could see their breath. Ash lead Serena to the top of a hill, then sat down and Serena sat with him.

"Wow, it's beautiful," said Serena as she looked up at the stars.

As they were out in the country there was very little light pollution, so the stars were seen crystal clear.

"I like to look at the stars here to remind me that when I'm out on a journey I'm never really far from home. Because no matter where I am I'm always looking at the same stars," said Ash.

The two sat there in a comfortable silence, until Ash decided to speak.

"Hey Serena, do you remember before we parted ways in Kalos, before you got on the plane to Hoenn," asked Ash as he looked at Serena.

Serena blushed as she remembered, but because it was dark Ash couldn't tell, "yes."

"Do you ever think about it," Ash asked calmly.

"Yes, why," replied Serena nervously.

Ash took a deep breath, even though he was calm on the outside, he was extremely nervous on the inside.

"While I was in Alola I thought about it alot. That kiss occupied my thoughts almost constantly as I tried to understand it," Ash started.

Serena was now internally panicking, 'is this happening? Just calm down Serena, he might not have understood and this might be nothing,' Serena thought to herself.

"I couldn't make sense of it, no matter how much to thought about it. It even changed the way I thought and made me have these new feelings I didn't understand," Ash continued.

Serena's heart was racing as she heard every word Ash spoke, but she kept quiet as Ash continued.

"Thankfully I had a chance to come home for a little bit while I was in Alola. While I was here I met with two of my best friends, Brock and Misty, who traveled with me through Kanto and Johto. I told them about the kiss and what I felt, and they were able to help me understand it. Now I only have one question left that only you can answer."

"W.w.what is it," Serena studered.

"When you kissed me, was that your way of showing me you love me?" Ash asked.

Serena nodded, "y.y.yes."

"I see. Do you still love me," Ash asked calmly.

Serena's heart was racing so fast she thought it might explode any second.

"Y.y.yes," Serena replied.

Ash then leaned in and pressed his lips against hers.

'OMA, OMA, IS THIS HAPPENING. IS ASH REALLY KISSING ME!' Serena screamed internally.

Ash then broke the kiss. Serena was disappointed, but then saw a smile curl on his lips.

"Good, because I love you too," said Ash.

Serena's eyes widened in disbelief, as he dense battle obsessed crush just told her he loved her.

Serena's eyes then began to swell up this tears of Joy, "I love you too Ash. I always have, and always will."

The two teens leaned in and kissed again, both knowing that starting tomorrow they would be starting two journeys together, one through the Torrent region, and the other being the journey as a couple through life.
