Chapter 60
Author's Notes:
Welcome one and all to the latest installment of Alpha and Omega. Before I can allow you all to enjoy this, we need to talk. I still need a theme song with an AMV for the Torrent League. I have had one submission so far, and it is for a good song that I personally enjoy, but I want some participation from my readers here. When I wrote in the Kalos League for Secret Prince people had their thoughts on the song, and some even gave their own suggestions. So where are your thoughts now? Please PM me with your suggestions, you have until November 29 to submit your entry.
Now that that is out of the way, something happy to celebrate. Alpha and Omega not only hit 100k views, but has surpassed it. I am so excited about this, as Secret Prince was almost complete when it hit 100K.
Now for the part you all have been waiting for, if you like my work please vote, feel free to comment, and please share this story with your friends. I now present to you chapter 60, enjoy.
"Attention citizens of Torrent! We interrupt your regularly scheduled program to bring you this important news bulletin," said a female voice on every TV in the Torrent region. "This is Rosa Hernandez reporting live from the city of Pamplona, where the first Running of the Tauros at the San Fermines fiesta has been brought to a screeching halt by violence. As you can see behind me there is a police blockade, which is circling a four block radius from where, what is only being called an attack, originated," the reporter says as the camera pans to show several police cars, police officers, and many police Pokémon in body armor watching towards the contained area, ready to act when needed.
"The police aren't sharing much, but what we do know is that this attack appears to have been orchestrated by the notorious Pokémon Hunter, known only as Hunter J. It is believed that the Tauros are her target, however they have not left yet and are still holding the police back. Unfortunately these thieves are heavily armed and well organized to a point that local police can't even move forward to stop this. Currently containment is the only option as police wait for reinforcements from several neighboring city police departments. We do also have unconfirmed reports that several trainers that were here for the fiesta are still trapped inside the containment area and are battling with Hunter J and her henchmen. If this is true, we can only hope help arrives soon, as there is no telling how long these trainers will last."

BOOM!
The front first floor of a building exploded as Lucario dodged a Dragon Pulse fired by Hunter J's Salamance. However when he landed, he was then hit by Drapion's Pin Missile attack. Lucario was knocked back, smashing through a window. He was quick to recover and jumped back out to deliver a Cross Chop to Drapion, sending him flying back. Lucario then quickly jumped out of the way of a Flamethrower from Salamance, then fired an Aura Sphere, landing a direct hit.
Despite being outnumbered, Lucario was able to hold his own through most of the battle. This was accomplished by him skillfully taking one of the two temporarily out of the fight at a time, keeping it a one on one battle until the other recovered and the process began again.
Kirlia looked on at her desired mate, and hated herself. She rarely ever thought negatively of herself, but now as she saw Lucario fighting two Pokémon at a time while she was struggling against one, the negative thoughts wouldn't stop coming. She saw herself as weak and undeserving of the love of such a powerful Pokémon.
Just then Kirlia was sent flying into the air by Ariados' Pin Missile attack. Ariados then followed up with a combination of Toxic Thread and Sticky Web just as Kirlia hit the ground. Ariados opened its mouth and fired a purple web right on Kirlia, effectively holding her down as she was poisoned. Kirlia fought as hard as she could to free herself, but to no avail. Ariados ran to Kirlia and jumped on top of her as it opened and closed its pincer like mouth in an intimidating manner, then bit down on Kirlia's neck as it used Leech Life to restore its strength. Kirlia cried out in pain as she felt her strength leaving her. As tears poured from her eyes, she looked over at Lucario and her eyes opened wide as she saw him essentially being used as a punching bag by Drapion and Salamance. Drapion was using X-Scissor and Fire Fang while Salamance was beating him with Dragon Tail. Despite this beating, Lucario never quit. He endured the attacks and even tried to counter.
The sight of seeing her love being beat so badly but still refusing to accept defeat was nothing less than inspiring. Kirlia then drew on all the strength she had left and fought against the Sticky Web and Ariados. "AAAAHHHHHH," Kirlia screamed as she fought, but couldn't break free. Then suddenly she began glowing white, as she evolved into Gardevoir.
The evolution not only restored some of Gardevoir's strength, but growing caused her arms to be free of the Sticky Web, as well as learn a new move, Psycho Cut. Gardevoir focused her psychic energy and formed a blade of pink energy in her left hand, then looked at Ariados with murderous intent. Ariados released Gardevoir and tried to back away, but wasn't fast enough as she stabbed the blade into the spider like Pokémon's side, knocking it off her. She then cut away at the Sticky Web, and stood up as she placed her free hand on her neck as she was bleeding from Leech Life. Her hand then glowed as rainbow light came from the wound from her using Heal Pulse on herself. She then formed a blade in her other hand as she charged Ariados, who was only now recovering from the previous hit. Gardevoir slashed away at the Ariados madly, until it was unconscious, and barley alive.
Gardevoir then turned her attention to Salamance and Drapion. She looked over to where her love was last to see him holding back a powerful Flamethrower attack from Salamance mid air with an aura barrier while Drapion stood back and watched for his turn. Gardevoir stretched her arms out to the side and released her pink blades, as her hands and eyes glowed pink and ten more formed.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Gardevoir screamed as she moved her hands forward and the blades went flying at the two Pokémon. Drapion saw the blades quickly enough to fire several Pin Missiles, which managed to intercept four of Gardevoir's blades, cancelling them out, only to be hit by the remaining two. Salamance cancelled its attack on Lucario, and tried to dodge the blades. However Gardevoir was in complete control, and with simple movements of her hands, the blades followed, and eventually hit Salamance, causing it to fall out of the sky and crash into the ground.
With the enemy temporarily taken care of, Gardevoir rushed to Lucario's side. Lucario had taken a knee as he tried to catch his breath, but when he saw Gardevoir arrive at him his breathing stopped as his heart raced even more.
"Lucario, are you ok?" Gardevoir asked urgently as she placed he hands on him and began to use heal pulse.
"I will be fine. Thank you for you assistance, I don't know how much longer I could have kept that pace," Lucario replied as he stood back up and wiped the blood from his nose.
Salamance and Drapion had both recovered from Gardevoir's attack, and were preparing to launch their own. Lucario could see this by reading their aura, and started to plan his own attack with Gardevoir, when an old idea entered his mind.
"Alight, I'll take Salamance, you get Drapion. Since I'm immune to Dragon Type moves and he's weak against Fairy Types, I'll have the advantage, while you're..." Gardevoir suggested before Lucario interrupted.
"No," Lucario said sternly.
"Ok I'll take Drapion..."
"No. We must attack them both together," Lucario replied as a confident smirk formed on his face.
"What? Isn't that what I was suggesting?" Gardevoir questioned.
"No. I'm talking about one attack to defeat them both," Lucario replied.
"How are we supposed to do that?" Gardevoir asked in disbelief.
"With an old strategy developed by my parents for double battles. I'll open my mind so you can understand the plan quicker," Lucario replied as he prepared himself.
Gardevoir's eyes glowed light red as she read Lucario's mind, and then a concerned look formed on her face as she understood her part. "I don't know if I can do it."
"You can. After how I saw you control that Psycho Cut, I know you can handle it. I have faith in you," Lucario replied confidently.
"But if I fail, you will be left too weak to continue," Gardevoir replied with concern.
"Then don't miss. But even if you do, I know you will protect me. I believe in you," Lucario replied with confidence as he smiled at her.
Gardevoir took a deep breath as she closed her eyes. "Alright," Gardevoir said as she opened her eyes, which showed her determination to live up to Lucario's faith. Gardevoir's eyes then glowed light red as she held her arms out to her sides and Lucario's eyes and whole body glowed blue. The aura then began to stream from Lucario's body and formed into twelve aura spheres with a pink outline around him and Gardevoir.
By this point, Salamance and Drapion were already charging in to attack. Gardevoir then moved her arms forward, launching the psychic Aura Spheres. Both targeted Pokémon attempted to launch their own attacks to cancel out the spheres, however Gardevoir was able to move the spheres to avoid most of the attacks. Those that didn't lost their psychic coating and continued on, hitting their unsuspecting targets. Drapion tried to dodge by digging underground, but the spheres followed him, essentially turning his hole into a grave when they connected with an explosion. Salamance attempted to dodge by flying away quickly, but was eventually hit by one and sent crashing into the ground, where the remaining spheres rained down upon him. Salamance was left in a dust filled crater, but as the dust settled and it showed he was still conscious. He saw Gardevoir standing with her dress like skin flapping behind her as her hands held a powerful pink Moonblast in front of her. She then launched the pink sphere at Salamance, creating a huge explosion, and effectively knocking him out.
Lucario had fallen backwards in exhaustion and was breathing heavily. Gardevoir was also exhausted from the damage she took before her evolution, as well as from the difficulty in performing the attack that ended the battle. She made her way to Lucario and knelt down as she also tried to catch her breath.
"You rest, I'll go help Ash and Serena," Gardevoir instructed. She tried to leave but was stopped by Lucario grabbing her wrist.
"Stay," Lucario started, leaving Gardevoir blushing madly before he continued. "Our trainers need to battle this on their own if they are to become stronger. And with a threat coming, they will need all the strength they can get," Lucario finished. Gardevoir calmed down, and looked over to Serena, and could tell she was holding her own. Gardevoir then sat down beside Lucario, as they both rested incase they were needed.
————————————————————————
A henchman charged at Ash from behind with a metal baron held up in the air, hoping to get the drop on him. Right before the henchman could strike Ash, his body froze as it became covered in a red outline. He then went flying backwards through a business window, Serena's hand guiding his movement. Ash then spun around and threw a small aura sphere towards Serena, but she didn't even flinch as it wizzed by her head and hit another henchman trying to attack her, and knocked him out cold.
As all of this was happening, Hunter J was circling around, letting her men take the brunt of Ash and Serena's attacks, while she looked for a weakness that would allow her to defeat Ash. It didn't take her long though, as one of her men provided the right incentive to make it crystal clear. Early on, the battle was complete chaos, and one of her men actually got to Serena and wrapped his arms around her neck. As soon as this happened, Ash snapped and ignored everyone else and charged in, removing the henchman by snapping his arm and throwing him through a boarded up window of a store, then was significantly more violent with the next few henchmen after.
Hunter J was now behind Ash and Serena as she raised her arm and took aim with the cannon attached. She held her position for a few seconds as she waited for a clear shot, then fired, hitting Serena in the back.
"Ahhh," Serena cried out as she fell to the ground.
"SERENA!" Ash yelled as his eyes saw her go down. Immediately he dashed through the henchmen to her side, tears pouring from his eyes. He held Serena in his arms, fear filling both of their eyes. Ash tried desperately to heal her, but to no avail. Serena's breathing was staggered as the tears left her eyes and her life was leaving her. Suddenly she fell to the ground as Ash was pulled away by the henchmen. Ash laid on the ground as the henchmen kicked him repeatedly with tears flowing from his eyes as he tried to get back to Serena. Serena's eyes were locked on him as she took her last breath, and the last tear left her eyes. Ash's eyes widened in horror, as the love of his life died, and he no longer felt any pain. "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!" Ash screamed as his aura burst out in every direction, sending the henchmen flying. Ash stood back up with his eyes completely blue as steam came from them as his tears evaporated due to his aura, and both of his fists glowed with an unusual aura. They were blue as usual, but they looked as if they were engulfed in a blue flame, but the flame didn't go up, it moved down and appeared to come to a point, like that of a blade. Ash's eyes locked onto Hunter J, as he knew she was responsible for Serena's death. Before he could make one step a henchman tried to put Ash in a headlock to pull him down, but Ash didn't move. Ash spun around as he punched the henchman in the ribs, causing him to release as he fell to the ground. The rest of the henchmen charged at Ash, so he charged at them. Throwing punch after punch, Ash took each down with just one hit. Several remaining henchmen turned and ran away, seeing that this wasn't worth it anymore. Ash then saw Hunter J trying to run. Ash shot after her like a bullet, ran right passed her and turned as he threw a punch to her stomach, that she ran right into. He then followed through with his punch and brought her to the ground, where she spit out blood as she landed. Ash finally regained his senses, and looked curiously as he noticed the blood.
"Hahaha," Hunter J laughed with an evil smile on her face as she saw Ash's expression. "You have no idea what you just did, do you?" Hunter J asked then looked down towards her stomach. Ash looked down to see his fist almost completely in her stomach. Instantly Ash pulled his hand out, as blood started pouring from her, and vomited. He then looked up in horror as he saw dead henchmen scattered across the ground, enough to make it appear they were in a massive pool of blood. "You may have killed me, but you have nothing to celebrate. Your girlfriend is dead, you couldn't save her. As for me and my men, our blood is on you hands, and you'll never be able to wash it off." With those last words, Hunter J died.
Ash forced himself back up to his feet and began walking over to Serena's body. Ash felt lifeless, dragging his feet as he moved. The battle was over, and everyone was gathered around Serena as they mourned her death. Everyone was clearly rough looking from all the fighting, but as Ash approached they all stepped aside. Paul held Miette and comforted her as she balled her eyes out over the loss of her best friend. Even Paul looked sad over Serena's death, but when he saw Ash, covered in blood that wasn't his own, shock could not even remotely describe what he felt. He had known Ash as this happy, determined, energetic, and sometimes annoying trainer, but seeing him like this completely flipped his perspective of Ash upside down.
Ash arrived at Serena and fell to his knees as the tears started to pour out again. Slowly Ash moved his arms to lift Serena up and hold her as he continued to cry. There wasn't a dry eye as everyone mourned the loss. Even Lucario couldn't hold back the tears.
As they all cried, the police were finally breaking through the remaining henchmen. As they finally came to the gang, they were about to announce themselves, but stopped as they were blinded by a bright flash of light above Ash and the others. When the light died down Everyone looked around for the source, but saw none.
"Ash?" Serena said as she opened her eyes to see everyone looking up and around while she was in Ash's arms.
"Serena!" Ash replied with shock as he looked back down to see her looking back up at him. Before Serena could say another word Ash brought her in and held her as he cried tears of joy.
————————————————————————
Eventually Ash calmed down and then Serena's Pokémon piled on to express their joy that Serena was ok. Ash's Pokémon were a little more in control, but it didn't stop Metagross from giving her a hug as well. The police arrived and broke up the joyful event just as Miette locked Serena into an Ursaring hug and cried onto her shoulder, telling her never to die again because she couldn't stand losing her best friend. Luckily the police already knew they were not part of Hunter J's crew so they weren't arrested, but they did get taken slightly away from the scene so they could explain everything and the scene could be documented. Medical personnel eventually arrived and treated all their injuries, and the police discreetly escorted them to the Pokémon Center to have the Pokémon treated.
At the Pokémon Center, Ash told Serena everything, from her dying, to him killing Hunter J while in a blind rage. He didn't try and say he didn't know what he was doing and that it wasn't intentional. He knew part of him wanted to do it, but it didn't make it any easier to accept.
"I can't believe you're a psychic," Miette commented as the group relaxed at the Pokémon Center. Shortly after, Ash filled Serena in on what happened after she died and she consoled him some for what he did. Miette straight forward asked Serena if she was psychic. Much to Serena's surprise Miette and Paul were very accepting of this, putting Serena more at ease about the topic.
"I know. It's still a little hard for me to believe sometimes," Serena replied.
"So who else knows?" Miette asked.
"Um, Ash, you two, William, the Valencia gym leader and some of the staff, my Pokémon, and that's it," Serena replied.
"So you haven't even told your mom yet?!" Miette asked in shock.
"No, I don't even know how to start. 'Hey mom, guess what I'm psychic. Apparently dad was a super powerful psychic and other psychics altered your memories to make you hate him while he took on some super secret mission,'" Serena said playing out what she could tell her mom.
"Yeah that does sound like a lot to take in, but you're going to have to tell her eventually, and probably everyone else," Miette replied as she leaned back in her chair.
"My mom yes, but everyone else? No way, I can't do that. I don't even want to tell Shauna, and she's one of my best friends," Serena replied almost in a panic.
"Why? Everyone knows about psychics and are cool with them," Miette asked.
"You're wrong," Paul chimed in. "Psychics are met with fear and controversy every time one announces themself. If Serena were to announce herself as a psychic and were to compete in showcases and become Kalos Queen, performers would be coming out left and right accusing her of using her psychic powers to win. It won't matter if she did or didn't. You can't prove you didn't so you're as good as guilty in the eyes of normal people. Next thing you know you'll never be able to perform because people will be too scared to go to your performances."
"Are you serious? I would never do anything like that to Serena," Miette stated proudly.
"You might not, but there are plenty of other performers that would. I pretty much have to keep this a secret for my whole life," Serena stated.
"Excuse me," said a female voice.
Everyone looked up to see what looked like a much older version of Officer Jenny looking right at them. "Umm, hello," Ash greeted, looking a little confused as he did it.
"Hello, I'm Chief Jenny, the chief of police in Pamplona. I came to tell you we will be keeping your identities secret if you like. This came as a personal request from Azazel the Torrent Champion and William of the elite four. It's up to you, I just kind of need to know now for the press conference," Chief Jenny informed.
Everyone looked to Ash to see what he wanted, as none of them particularly cared. "Thank you. Yes please keep it a secret," Ash replied.
————————————————————————
Elsewhere, Lucario was sitting under a tree outside of the Pokémon Center meditating. The aura within the city was much more calm now, and that was what he needed. During the battle, he made a judgment call to leave the rest of the henchmen to Ash and Serena, and Serena was killed. He was thankful that Serena was brought back to life, although he was not sure how yet, but if not for that she would have remained dead and he would have blamed himself for it. He wanted what was best for Ash and Serena, and he still felt they needed to be stronger, but now he was questioning his decision on holding Gardevoir back. He knew at the time he was completely spent and would have been more of a burden than anything, but Gardevoir still had some good fight left in her and might have made a difference.
As Lucario continued to meditate he felt a presence approaching from behind, with an aura that was currently too much of a mess to read her intentions. "Hello Gardevoir," Lucario greeted without facing her.
"I'll never be able to sneak up on you, will I?" Gardevoir jokingly asked.
"Despite the whirlwind of emotions your aura is showing currently, your aura is very distinctive to me," Lucario replied as Gardevoir stopped in front of him and he opened his eyes. Gardevoir blushed slightly from Lucario's response, despite not knowing much about aura, the fact that hers was particularly distinctive to him made her feel special.
"So what are you doing?" Gardevoir asked.
"Attempting to find inner peace, although it's not going well," Lucario replied with a sigh.
"Anything I can do to help?" Gardevoir offered sweetly.
"I'm afraid not. I failed my master and his mate almost died because of it," Lucario replied sadly.
"How? You were in no shape to continue fighting, and if you tried they both could have died, because of Ash trying to protect you too," Gardevoir replied in a scolding tone.
"I held you back from helping. If I had just let you go, maybe everything would have been fine," Lucario said.
"Maybe, maybe not. There is no point in dwelling on what has been and what could have been. In the end I chose to stay with you, so if anyone should be beating themself up, it's me. But then if I did leave, you might have died, and I don't think I could have lived with myself if that happened either. Right now, all we can do is focus on what is and learn from the past to do better," Gardevoir replied as she crouched down in front of Lucario.
"Since when did you become so insightful?" Lucario asked with a smile.
Gardevoir smiled back. "I grew up in a school where people trained to see the future. You can't help but learn a thing or two, whether you want to or not. Now that you look happier, how about a distraction to keep you that way." Gardevoir then stood back up and climbed onto Lucario's lap as she wrapped her legs around him, and placed one hand behind Lucario's head and the other on his cheek as she began kissing him passionately.
Lucario was shocked by this and pushed Gardevoir back. "What are you doing?" Lucario asked in a shocked tone.
"When you opened your mind to me to show me that move you learned from your parents, I also saw your feelings towards me. I know you love me, and that the fact that I'm in heat makes it even harder for you to control yourself around me. So lose control, because I love you too," Gardevoir admitted, then moved in to kiss him again, but he held her back. "What is your problem?! I'm practically throwing myself at you! I want you and you want me, so just take me already!" Gardevoir practically yelled angrily.
"It's more complicated than that," Lucario replied with a hurt expression.
"Well uncomplicate it! Or at least explain to me why you're breaking my heart like this," Gardevoir replied angrily as tears filled her eyes.
"Ok, I'll try," Lucario said, then took a deep breath as he collected his thoughts. "As you saw in my mind, I am the offspring of a Lucario and a Gardevoir, but what you did not see was that I am not their first."
"What does that have to do with anything?" Gardevoir asked annoyed.
"Allow me to finish," Lucario replied calmly. "I am their fourth child but was the first Riolu. The first I only knew as a Gallade, but the other two...the third was a male. As a Ralts and a Kirlia, he and I would spare, and were the best of friends. But when he evolved, he refused to even spend time with me. Then there was the second, my only sister," Lucario stopped briefly as he collected his thoughts with a saddened expression. "She was a Kirlia when I hatched and was one of the kindest, sweetest Pokémon on the ranch we lived on. She would tell me stories, play games, and even taught me how to swim in the pond. But when she evolved into a Gardevoir, that all stopped. She became obsessed with mating, and not just with one Pokémon. Almost every male Pokémon on the ranch was fair game for her. She once agreed to play a game with me, but stopped when William's Infernape came and flirted with her. Within a few minutes, they were mating behind a nearby tree. It was so bad that the first time she laid an egg, she had no idea who the father was until it hatched."
"Are you saying you expect me to become some whore?" Gardevoir accused angrily.
"No. What I am saying is that evolution changes us, and right now you are in a compromised state that can effect your judgement. I don't know who you are anymore, and you don't know you either. All I am saying, is let us take our time to know each other first. I don't want my heart broken, because if you are still the beautiful Pokémon on the inside as you are on the outside, I will want to mate with you and only you for life," Lucario explained in a tone that made Gardevoir's heart race.
Gardevoir couldn't believe what she just heard. The words he used at the end and the way he said them made her heart flutter to a point she thought it was going to explode. Gardevoir gently pressed her forehead against his as she smiled warmly. "Ok, I'll wait. But I have one favor to ask of you," Gardevoir said as her eyes locked on his. "Kiss me. Kiss me using the love I felt within you," she requested longingly. Lucario smiled as he placed a hand on her cheek and brought her face up as he moved in and kissed her with passion and love. The kiss was broken slowly, their eyes locked again as a small smile formed on Gardevoir's face. She then laid her head down on his shoulder as she wrapped her arms around him, as she began waiting for the day when he would be hers, and she would become his.
————————————————————————
Meanwhile, high above the city, two Pokémon were looking down on our hero. The first was a small humanoid Pokémon with short stubby legs and slightly longer arms, and resembled a star. The other was a larger humanoid Pokémon with some feline like features, a mostly grey body and a long purple tail.
"As happy as I am to have saved Ash Ketchum from the pain of losing his love, may I leave now? I'm supposed to be hibernating," the smaller Pokémon asked.
"Yes Jirachi, you have done well. Thank you," the larger Pokémon replied, identifying the other Pokémon.
Jirachi started to leave, but stopped and looked back. "You know, Arceus won't be happy with your involvement. His creations aren't allowed to meddle with the chosen one like this," Jirachi warned.
The larger Pokémon just chuckled lightly, "Good thing I'm not one of his creations then." Jirachi then sighed and flew off, leaving the other Pokémon to watch over Ash.
