"Will you hurry up? We're going to be late!" Juniper yelled to her brother. She pounded her fists on his apartment door- an attempt to hurry him up.

Illusion's Zorua sat at Juniper's feet, "He was up late last night" she said.

"Doing what?"

At that moment, Illusion's door swung open, and a young woman awkwardly smiled at Juniper and quickly walked out of the apartment. Illusion came up to the door in nothing but sweatpants.

"Hey sis!" He chirped innocently.

Juniper glared, "You're sick ya know that?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about" Illusion lied, his Zorua jumping onto his shoulder. Zorua rubbed her face against her trainer's.

Juniper raised an eyebrow.

"Okay I slept with some girl last night, what's it to you?" Illusion asked, strolling back into his apartment, leaving the door open for his sister to follow.

Juniper walked inside and slammed the door behind her, "We're gonna be late because of you" she hissed.

"Late?" He asked, "Late for what?"

"Brunch? You promised Raven you'd come to brunch with us"

Illusion nodded, "Oh yeah...are Ada and Danny gonna be there too?"

"Why wouldn't they be?"

"Just asking" Illusion sang, strolling into his bedroom. A minute later, he emerged with a sweatshirt that matched his gray pants.

"We going or what?" Illusion asked, grabbing his keys off the counter.

"You're not gonna shower or anything?" Juniper asked.

"I think he looks nice" Zorua interjected.

"See? Zorua has faith in me" Illusion said.

Juniper rolled her eyes, "Let's just go"

"Why are you late?" Ada hissed as the two Harmonia siblings sat down.

"Why do you think?" Juniper responded.

"Well if it's your fault...you had trouble with your hair" Danny answered.

Juniper blushed, "Nuh-uh!"

"If it's Illusion's fault..." Danny continued, "He slept with some girl"

Illusion pointed finger guns at Danny, "Got it Qwilfish Jr. "

Danny was about to retort, but Raven chimed in, "Okay, okay...it doesn't matter why they were late...since now they're paying for lunch" she smirked.

Juniper groaned, "But it wasn't even my fault!"

Zorua reached for a glass of water on the table from Illusion's lap. Her trainer grabbed the glass and brought it to the Pokémon's muzzle.

"Come on Rae, surely someone as smart and beautiful as you knows that that's silly" Illusion flirted in an attempt to get out of paying for everyone's meals.

Raven blushed, but Ada groaned, "How does that work on you? He's not even that good!"

Illusion raised an eyebrow, "Oh? Is that so?"

"You find anything that wears a skirt attractive" Ada retorted.

"That's funny" Illusion said. Zorua pushed the glass of water away from herself and Illusion placed it back on the table.

"How so?"

"You don't seem to be wearing a skirt" Illusion flirted, winking at the girl across from him.

Ada's whole face turned bright red and she looked away, "How many times have you used that today?"

"Just once" Illusion murmured, looking down at Zorua, who was playing with the strings on his sweatshirt.

"So...Ada! Are you ready for your movie premiere tomorrow?" Raven asked, a slight edge to her tone.

Ada didn't seem to notice, "Oh just GREAT" she said sarcastically.

"Why?" Juniper asked.

"She's upset because I won't go with her to the premiere" Danny explained.

"You quit acting and you suddenly you think you're too good for it"

Danny shrugged, "Maybe I am"

Ada sighed, "Rae? Juniper? Can either of you come?"

"No" Raven answered coldly.

"I hate to decline...but I really don't wanna go" Juniper said, patting Zorua's head as the Pokémon jumped into her lap.

"I'll go" Illusion chimed.

"Really?" Ada asked in disbelief.

"Sure! What's the worst that could happen?"

"You could hook up with some celebrity"

Illusion's blue and green eyes became stormy, "Sex isn't the only thing on my mind, you know"

Ada recoiled at his tone, "Um...okay...But if you're going to come, you're not gonna flirt with anyone else"

A spark ignited in Illusion's eyes, "Interesting choice of words...But you have my word. I won't flirt with anyone else"

"So what's this movie about?" Juniper asked.

"You'll have to go see it yourself" Ada answered.

"Wow. Shameless promo" Illusion teased, "Must need all the money it can get" he whispered to his sister.

Ada frowned, "Thanks a lot, Illusion"

"Aw you know I love ya. My insults come from a place of love"

"Whatever you weirdo"

Zorua barked a few things.

"Zorua wants to know where the menus are" Illusion translated as the fox Pokémon jumped onto his shoulder, burying herself in his hair.

Raven pushed her glasses up her face, "We already ordered"

"We weren't that late"

"Yes you were"

Danny chuckled, "Well Illusion is always late"

"That's true. I am always late" Illusion agreed.

"We ordered you guys food so don't worry, you won't starve" Ada added.

"Sweet"

"So how's the job, Illusion?" Danny asked, changing the subject.

"Working for my dad isn't the best thing in the world, but it's better than working with my mom"

"Oh yeah. Saving Pokémon on a daily basis is so horrible" Juniper muttered sarcastically.

"But I don't do any of that! I feed them and groom them. I wouldn't mind it so much if I got to go with Dad when he releases the rehabilitated Pokémon back into the wild. But I don't. I stay at the center and rot away" Illusion huffed, crossing his arms.

"You are being dramatic" Raven said.

"Am I though?"

"Yes"

Illusion grunted, "Excuse me. I have to use the bathroom" he said, getting up.

"No you can't come..." He whispered to Zorua as he picked her up and placed her on his chair.

Raven watched him as he walked away.

"Why don't you just throw yourself at him already?" Ada teased as soon as Illusion was out of ear shot.

Raven blushed, "Oh please. Yeah right" she denied.

"My brother of all people" Juniper tsked, "You could do so much better"

Zorua stood on her hind legs and patted her front paws on the table.

"Jealous..." Juniper whispered.

Zorua stuck her tongue out at the girl. Juniper passed the cup of water back to Zorua. The Pokémon happily lapped up the water.

"C'mon Rae. We all know you like Illusion. You might as well swallow your pride and tell him" Ada said.

"You're joking right? Even if I did like him, which I don't, you know him. He would never date me"

"Because he sleeps around?"

"No. Because I'll never be anything but a friend to him"

"Defy the odds!" Danny encouraged.

"Were you even listening?"

"Of course!"

"What did I say?"

Danny thought for a few seconds, "Um..."

"You're lucky you're good looking. There's not much in that head of yours, is there?"

"C'mon Raven, he's only trying to help" Juniper said.

"Speaking of people throwing themselves, why don't you just throw yourself at Danny?" Raven snapped.

"There's no helping you is there?" Juniper hissed.

"Ah negative energy...such a wonderful thing" Ada mumbled, examining her nails.

"So anyone know when the food is getting here?" Illusion asked, picking up Zorua and sitting back down in his chair.

Danny shook his head, "'Dunno. We ordered just before you two got here"

Zorua growled.

"Sorry. You three" Danny corrected.

A few seconds later, a waitress came by and handed everyone their food.

Ada spoke as the waitress walked away, "She had a skirt, why didn't you flirt with her?" She asked Illusion.

"Priorities" Illusion stated simply, handing one of his pancakes to the red and gray Pokémon in his lap.

"Oh yeah?"

"Yeah"

"Sex or food?"

"Food" Illusion answered without hesitation. Danny mumbled a quiet "Relatable".

"Really?" Ada asked in shock.

"You know it, baby" Illusion confirmed, winking. He then proceeded to stuff a fork full of pancakes in his mouth.

"Attractive" Ada sighed, rolling her eyes.

For the next hour, the small group of friends talked about their lives, telling jokes and stories. Juniper mostly complained of working with her mother and how demanding and scary the woman could be if Juniper messed up an order.

Danny spoke excitedly of his internship with Raven's father, Cheren. The young man had his heart set on being a gym leader, or even Champion if he was lucky.

Danny's twin Ada talked about some drama from behind the scenes of her movies. She spoke of which actors and actresses were nightmares to work with, or which ones were amazing and cool. She briefly mentioned working on a project with her mother, Rosa, but she couldn't say much about it.

Raven didn't speak too much, but when she did, it was about assisting her mother with her duties as a Pokémon Professor. They were studying what made shiny Pokémon their odd color, but they were having trouble finding a subject to base their research on. Raven mentioned that Illusion and Juniper's father N would keep an eye out and assist them in any way he could (As long as the Pokémon would remain unharmed, of course).

Illusion mostly listened. If he had a comment to make, he would, but not much peaked his interest. He was too busy thinking of ways to embarrass Ada at her movie premiere.

And he was going to embarrass her, like the loving friend that he was.
