Chapter 5: The Separation
Hi. Again thank you so much for the support. I hope it continues. Teehee.
This chapter is much more of a filler, but hey, it's still pretty important to the story.
For those who haven't checked out Pokémon World: Adventures through Hoenn, Milani is pronounced as /Mee-LAH-nee/
I apologize if this chapter might not be as good as the others. My mind is all messed up right now.

(Third Person POV)
In the girls' room, Misty and Milani are already up and ready to head their way to the Village of Dragons. Misty was sitting on the bed, waiting for May to wake up. Milani was looking for something.
"Milani, what are you looking for anyways?" Misty asked.
"Something that could wake May up. We need to get going soon." Milani answered.
"Come on. Give her a little break, will ya? We've been on the road for days. Plus, May gave your cousin a good argument yesterday."
"Eh...AHA!" Milani said as she found a horn. "This should work."
"Oh no, you don't!" Misty said as she snatched the horn from Milani. "I'll wake May up. You wake the boys up."
"Can I have my horn back then?" Milani begged nicely and Misty handed it over to her.
Milani was about to head out of the room when the door suddenly opened up and a very loud sound from another horn was heard. Milani and Misty covered their ears, and May woke up in panic.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!?!" May yelled as a green-haired boy entered the room.
"I know that beauty rest is important, but we need to get going." Drew said as he smirked and left the room. May got up and fixed herself.
"Jeez...what's his problem?" May muttered.
"And why does everyone in this house have horns?" Misty asked.
"Eh. It gets crazy around here sometimes." Milani answered as she grabbed a thick pink jacket.
"What's with the jacket? It's pretty hot outside." May asked.
"It's not hot where we are going. The quickest way is to the east, so that means passing by the area affected by the eternal winter thing." Milani answered. The three girls headed out of the room.
At the shop's entrance already waited the others.
"Good morning, ladies." Kristoff said. The girls smiled at him.
"Come on! Let's go to the Village of Donkeys!" Olaf cheered.
"It's Village of Dragons, Olaf." Misty corrected as they all left.
--
They were walking as they approached the boundary between Resin Town and the parts affected by the snow. May yawned loudly while the others wore their jackets.
"Sleepy, aren't we?" Drew teased as he smirked. May glared at him.
"Maybe if I wasn't rudely wakened up, I wouldn't be." May answered in an annoyed tone.
"Aren't you cold, May?" Milani asked.
"I'm fine, Milani. I'm used to the cold anyway."
"Yeah. You are alright." Drew said while holding down his laughter. May rolled her eyes.
Of course...Drew knows about the time May was out in the cold without a jacket and she was all alone. Well...he was there, but she didn't know it was him.
"Ok...Drew, you can't just rudely wake May up and just smirk about it. That's not very nice." Misty spoke up.
"Wow. So you can just whack Ash with your mallet then? I'm pretty sure that's not nice either." Drew answered back. Misty wanted to retort that May must be treated with full respect because she's the princess of the Porin kingdom, but May stopped her before she could say anything. She was supposed to keep that a secret to everyone else. Misty just crossed her arms. Ash grinned and gave Drew a thumbs up.
They were then quiet for the next five minutes or something.
"Hey, Melanie! Did you bring that flaming sword of yours? Can I borrow it? I'm bored. No one else is talking anyway." Olaf said as he ran towards Milani.
"No. Drew won't let me bring it." Milani said as she pouted and looked at Drew.
"It's fine. We're not supposed to let Olaf touch fire anyway." Kristoff said.
"Awww!" Olaf whined.
The group continued walking as they reached a mountainous area.
"Are we there yet?" Ash asked.
"Nope. The road there will take us a few days, so be patient." Drew answered.
"Sorry, Drew. You see, Ash doesn't have any patience at all." Misty said.
"HEY! Who asked for your opinion?" Ash yelled as he came closer to Misty. Pikachu hopped off Ash's shoulder and went beside Olaf.
"I have the freedom of speech!"
"Says who?!?!"
"The law! Don't be dumb, Ash."
"I'm not dumb!"
"Oh yeah?!"
"Yeah!"
Milani, Drew, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf stared at the bickering duo. May has had enough and decided to stop them.
"Alright! We are gonna be stuck with each other for a while, so you two better learn how to deal with each other." May said as she got between the two who groaned.
"Look who's talking." Drew muttered.
"HEY! I heard that!" May yelled as she quickly got in front of Drew. Milani and Kristoff facepalmed.
Suddenly, they heard a loud roar and came in a huge snow monster.
"Is that who I think it is?" Milani asked, thinking that the monster might be Kyurem.
"IT'S MARSHMALLOW!" Olaf yelled.
"Oh. So it is not what I'm thinking of." Milani said. Marshmallow roared again, ready to chase them.
"Don't just stand there! RUN!" Olaf yelled as they ran...unfortunately in different directions.
Olaf, Milani, Pikachu, Kristoff and Sven managed to catch up to each other.
"Hey!" Olaf greeted cheerfully. "I thought I lost you guys!"
"Olaf, enough of the touchy moments. We're about to-" Milani said, but she was cut off.
"AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!" Olaf, Kristoff and Pikachu screamed as they all fell down a cliff.
"-fall down a cliff." Milani mumbled with her face planted on the ground. She got up to see if everyone else is alright.
"I can't feel my legs! I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS!" Olaf yelled.
"Olaf, once again, those are my legs." Kristoff said as he stood up.
Olaf's other body parts ran around in circles.
"Ooh! Melanie, grab my butt!" Olaf said as Milani grabbed Olaf's other parts. Pikachu managed to find Olaf's arms. They went near Olaf and assembled him.
"I think we lost Marshmallow. The question is, where are Ash, Misty, May and Drew?" Milani said.
"It's getting dark, too." Kristoff said as he looked to the sky.
"So...we'll just camp out tonight and look for them tomorrow!" Olaf said.
"Yup. That way we can get some peace and quiet. Or...at least peace." Kristoff said. "It's never too quiet with Olaf around."
"Pikapi..." Pikachu said with a worried tone.
--
Ash and Misty also managed to lose Marshmallow, but they also fell down a cliff.
"Ugh...Ash Ketchum, if you weren't so stupid, we wouldn't have gotten into this mess." Misty scolded.
"If you never call me stupid, idiot or dumb all the time, none of this would've happened!" Ash answered back. Misty wanted to fight back, but she stopped herself.
"Ash..." Misty said in a softer tone.
"I know. We shouldn't be fighting right now. We still have to look for Pikachu and the others." Ash said, also in a softer tone.
"Don't worry, Ash. We'll find them. It's getting dark, though. How about we look for them tomorrow?"
"Okay, Mist." He answered with an assured smile. Misty smiled back and the two looked for a place they could rest.
Misty would never admit, but she liked it whenever Ash smiled like that. After all, in spite of the mallet whacking and the name calling, Misty actually likes Ash. As in...really likes him.
--
Drew and May were running for their lives. Drew looked back and noticed that Marshmallow was headed elsewhere.
Here's the thing: Marshmallow was only chasing Olaf.
"Hey. He's gone." Drew said as he stopped in his tracks. May was still running for her life, but Drew pulled her back.
"Where are the others?" May asked.
"I don't know. They might've gone elsewhere." Drew answered as May sat in front of a tree. Drew followed, but he sat in front of the tree on the immediate left of the tree May was sitting on.
"So...I'm stuck here with you. Of all people." May said in an annoyed tone. "I think I should look for the others."
"It's getting dark, May. I think we should just rest here for the night. Don't worry. I'm sure everyone is fine." Drew said in a more comforting tone.
"You're right. I guess being here with you won't be bad at all." May smiled as she looked at Drew. He couldn't help but smile back as well.
Drew liked the way she always gets mad at him, but he loved the way she smiled. He can't help but be mesmerized.
--
Milani, Kristoff, Olaf, Sven and Pikachu were around a campfire set by Milani's Blaziken. Milani was sitting on a log with Pikachu on her lap. Beside her was Sven. Beside Sven was Kristoff. Olaf was building something with the snow.
"So...how long before we get to the Village of Dragons?" Kristoff asked.
"If we manage to get back up the mountain, we'll get there in a day or two." Milani answered. "You're pretty worried, huh."
"Well...I'm worried about Arendelle." Kristoff said. Sven nudged him, knowing that Kristoff had more specific worries.
"Don't worry, Kristoff! I'm also worried about Anna!" Olaf shouted as he was still his business. Kristoff blushed.
"Oh...I see!" Milani said while planting a teasing smile on her face. "So...Kristoff likes THE Princess Anna?"
"Actually, she's my girlfriend." Kristoff answered in a 'matter-of-fact' tone.
"No way! That's so awesome. Who knew you'd be the man in a princess's heart?" Milani teased.
"Hey. Not all princesses have to fall in love with a prince." Kristoff pointed out.
"Yeah. Actually, I told Drew that I wanted him to marry a princess, but he said that I don't control his life." Milani said. She then looked at Olaf and laughed. "Olaf? Are you making yourself a girlfriend?"
Olaf jumped in surprise. He was building a snowman...rather a snowwoman. It looked like him...except more female-looking.
"Mind your own business, Melanie!" Olaf said in embarrassment. The other laughed, but the laughter died when their stomachs growled.
"Man...I'm so hungry!" Milani whined. "Where's our food?"
"All our food is with Ash." Kristoff answered. Sven neighed. "He even has Sven's carrots, and Sven looks like his craving for some."
"Yeah...and I'm craving for some shaved ice. And I'm NOT eating the snow on the ground." Milani said. She and Sven looked at each and smiled evilly. They then looked at Olaf who was busy with the finishing touches on his snowwoman. Olaf then noticed the hungry eyes looking at him. He blinked and he got the message. Pikachu left Milani's lap and went beside Kristoff.
"AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Olaf said as he ran around the campsite. Sven and Milani were chasing after him.
"Do you want to eat a snowman? Come on let's go chow down!" Milani sang, creeping Olaf out even more. Milani laughed and she went back to her seat. Kristoff can't help but laugh at Milani's antics. "I'm just messing with you, Olaf."
"Very funny, Melanie!" Olaf yelled while he was still running since Sven was chasing him.
"Sven, you can stop now." Kristoff said to Sven, who was right behind Olaf's snowwoman. "I managed to find a carrot in my bag, but we have to share."
Sven ran back to Kristoff excitedly, knocking over Olaf's snowwoman.
"OLIVIA!!!!" Olaf shouted as he knelt next to the fallen snowwoman.
"Olivia?" Milani said as everyone else except Olaf started laughing. Kristoff divided the carrot and shared it to everyone. Sven, however, got a bigger share.
--
Ash and Misty were now inside a cave they have found.
"Man...I'm hungry." Ash said.
"You're always hungry, Ash." Misty said with a smile. "Hey...don't you have the food?"
"Oh right!" Ash said as he brought out the food.
Misty looked at the food. They were mostly just ingredients...and Sven's carrots. There were also pots and other utensils.
"So...um...we still have to cook them?" Misty asked.
"I guess." Ash said. "Man...I'm starting to miss Brock's stew."
"Me too." Misty said. "I know! I'll make stew myself."
"Great idea, Mist! You do that while I look for some berries." Ash said as he headed out the cave.
Now it was just Misty, an empty pot and a chockfull of ingredients. She then remembered that she had Brock's recipe book inside her bag in case she needed to do some cooking. Honestly, she thought she didn't need to. Truth be told, she doesn't know how to.
"According to Brock's recipe, I should add one teaspoon of sugar." Misty said as she dropped the ingredient into the pot. "Oh no!!! That was salt."
She then tried looking for the bag of sugar. She found it and she accidentally poured half of the bag into the pot. She panicked, but her mind hatched an idea when she found the salt bottle.
"I'll just add the salt to counteract the sweetness!" She accidentally placed two huge chunks of the salt. She decided to add even more sugar.
Misty wondered if her stew was good enough since it was all salt and sugar. She then hatched another idea. She saw Pikachu's favorite ketchup and poured lots of it into the pot. She also put some mayonnaise, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, miso, curry, garlic paste, wasabi, mustard, oregano and cinnamon.
She added a few of Sven's carrots and stirred the pot until Ash came back.
"I'm sorry, Misty. I didn't find any berries." Ash said.
"Its fine, Ash. The stew is ready." Misty said as she gave Ash a bowl of the stew. Ash stared at his bowl filled with purple soup.
"Uh..." Ash said. The stew didn't really look appetizing.
"It's my own recipe which I call Misty's Mystery Stew and it's got 47 secret ingredients!" Misty said.
"Looks good, but I'm just so exhausted that I'm skipping dinner tonight!" Ash lied.
"You think I'm a terrible cook, don't you?"
"Well...no...well... maybe..." Misty gave him an annoyed looked and took a spoonful of her stew and ate it. She wasn't too happy about it. "So...was it good?" Ash asked.
"It...has a unique flavor." Misty said in a forceful tone. She then forced herself to eat more of her icky stew.
--
Drew and May were still sitting in front of the same trees. Instead of their usual interactions, they did some small talk to get to know each other better. Drew already knew he was going to have a good time, but May certainly didn't expect to enjoy her time with him.
Of course, May still didn't tell Drew of her true identity.
"Ok, May, what's up with Misty making sure that you are treated with utmost respect?" Drew asked. May looked up, trying to find the words to say. She cannot say because she is the princess of the Porin kingdom.
Sure, May didn't like Drew commenting everything she says or does, but she likes how she is treated like a normal person. That's why she's on this journey in the first place. She'll never admit it, but she's actually glad she met Drew.
"Um...well...she's my best friend." May answered.
"So...how come you never side with her whenever she fights with Ash?" Drew asked.
"Well...because Ash is also one of my best friends...even though he left me once out in the cold." May said as Drew raised an eyebrow.
"Why did he leave you out in the cold?"
"I don't really know. Good thing someone found me when I was freezing to death."
"I thought the cold never bothered you."
"I'm not Queen Elsa, okay?"
Drew remained silent. A smile then crept up on his face. He couldn't help it since May just talked about the time he first saw her. Also, he wanted to give Ash a piece of his mind, but Misty gives him enough trouble.
May's stomach growled loudly. Drew looked at her and she blushed.
"I'm sorry about that. I'm just really hungry." May said. "And Ash has our food."
"Hey...look over there, May. Do you see those berries?" Drew said pointing to the two lone berries hanging on a not-so far away tree. He stood up and went to the tree to pick up the berries.
"What kind of berries are those?" May asked.
"Hmm...I'm pretty sure they're Liechi berries." Drew answered.
"Ooh! Lechi berries!"
"It's pronounced Liechi." Drew smirked as he handed May the other berry. She pouted but still accepted the berry.
They both took a bite out on the berry and they tasted its sweetness...and its tangy aftertaste. They managed to finish their berries and they positioned themselves back to the respective trees.
Suddenly, a strong wind came in to send shivers to their bodies.
"Getting cold, May?" Drew asked as he sat beside May.
"I'm fine. I've got a jacket here with me." May said as she put on a green jacket that was familiar to Drew.
It was the same jacket he gave her from before.
"That's a nice jacket you've got there." Drew complimented...his own jacket.
"Thanks, but it's not really mine. It was from the guy who saved me from the cold." May said.
"That guy must have been really awesome." Drew said...praising himself.
"Yeah...I wish I could thank him though."
Drew just smiled at her. He was glad she still had the jacket. He thought she just left it back at Oaken's. He looked at May again and saw that she was already asleep.
For May, she has given her trust to the guy she hated just yesterday.
For Drew, he didn't have mere attraction for the girl anymore. He has fallen for her. Will he admit that to anyone? Nope. No way.
And to think...Drew doesn't even know who she really is.

Whoa. Longest chapter yet. Hoped you guys liked it.
BTW, I did a lot of referencing in this chapter, so I'mma enumerate them. So yeah...we have the "I can't feel my legs!" bit from the movie. We also have Milani singing a very creepy parody of "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" I also got the Misty cooking scene in the episode "Sick Daze" from the Johto League Champions season. I also did a small reference on the episode "Who, What, When, Where, Wynaut?" from the Advanced Battle season.
