DawnxPaul

"Why do you have to win every battle?!" Dawn asked as she chased after Paul.

They'd both been competing in a doubles battle tournament, unluckily getting paired up together. The pair had gotten oddly close over the course of the few weeks (unfortunate weather conditions extended the tournament longer than necessary) but Dawn still didn't understand Paul's unruly need to win.

He'd stormed off after their last battle after almost losing, which Dawn didn't understand. It's not like they'd actually lost, so why Paul was being a child, she didn't get.

"You don't get it!" Paul hissed, speed walking down the hallway, away from Dawn.

"You're right! I don't! It's just a battle!" Dawn retaliated, trying to keep up with the purple haired boy.

"It's never 'just a battle'!"

"You've got to be kidding me!"

"A loss makes you look weak!"

"What's one loss, Paul?"

"It's a fucking loss! They make you look pathetic! Then people think they can walk all over you because you're weak!"

"Who cares what people think?"

Paul suddenly stopped walking and whipped around to face Dawn, "Oh you're one to talk" he hissed.

Dawn stood still and held her head up, "What's that supposed to mean?"

Paul feigned laughter, "Are you kidding? You constantly seek the approval of others"

"My friends! Their opinions matter more than a stranger's! And they're not going to think I'm weak after one loss!"

Paul opened his mouth to retaliate, but Dawn cut him off, "And we didn't even lose! Why are you throwing such a fit? I didn't know you were five!"

"People won't think you're weak! You're the strongest trainer I've ever met, but you could be so much stronger if you would just stop being a try-hard!"

"If you can't accept your losses, you'll never learn from them, and you'll never truly be strong"

Paul just glared at Dawn, right into her eyes.

"Where's your witty comment, Paul?" Dawn hissed.

Paul said nothing for awhile, but his eyes softened as he muttered, "Oh fuck it"

Paul quickly walked over to Dawn, grabbed both of her wrists and slammed her up against the nearest wall. Before Dawn could even comprehend what was happening, Paul pressed his lips against hers.

Dawn was shocked at first, but she soon accepted the kiss and melted into it. They kissed passionately, Paul's hands soon loosening their grip on Dawn's wrists. Dawn's hands moved up to the collar of Paul's jacket, pulling him closer.

All too soon for Dawn's taste, Paul pulled away. The pair breathed heavily, attempting to wrap their heads around what had just happened. Paul quickly composed himself, clearing his throat and slowly walking away from Dawn.

"H-Hey!" Dawn yelled, running after him, "Wait for me!"
