"Catherine, this is Isaac and his little sister Melody" Kate said, introducing her little sister to her friend and his little sister. Catherine and Melody were around the same age, so Kate and Isaac arranged for them to meet.

"His hair looks like a mushroom" Catherine observed.

"Catherine!" Kate scolded, blushing.

"I know!" Melody agreed, "But I just think he's an egghead!"

"Melody!" Isaac scolded.

The two small girls giggled, "It's okay big brother! I won't embarrass you in front of the ranger" Melody whispered to her brother.

"My big sister said she took the day off just for this! I haven't seen her in regular clothes in forever!" Catherine chirped, pointing to her sister's red shirt and black shorts.

"Still wearing ranger colors though" Isaac noted.

"Of course!" Kate said proudly, holding her head up high.

"I wanna be a ranger when I get older!" Melody said.

"Really?" Kate and Isaac asked in unison.

"Yeah!" Melody assured, "Ever since Kate saved Brook and me from those weird mailbox thingies. And again when she saved me and Isaac from those big Dim Sum meanies!"

"Dim Sun" Isaac corrected.

"Who cares?" Melody retaliated.

"I wanna be a mechanic!" Catherine added, "I'm much better at math than my sister"

"Hey!" Kate protested.

Isaac chuckled, "You know you aren't very good at math, Kate"

Kate blushed, "I'm not so bad..."

"I had to tutor you"

"And I got better! Especially since I had such a good tutor..." Kate flirted.

Isaac blushed and looked away, "You were just a good student..."

The two small girls looked between their older siblings, trying to piece together their odd actions. The pair eventually gave up, and Melody ran over to a nearby bench and sat down. Catherine followed Melody's example and they immediately began talking and laughing.

"I think it's going well" Kate whispered to Isaac as they walked to their sisters.

"I think so too" Isaac whispered back.

Kate and Isaac sat down on the bench next to their sisters, listening to them talk about things they liked; their favorite colors, Pokémon, school subjects, etc.

"Kate?" Melody called.

"Hm?" Kate responded.

"Is my brother as much of an egghead around you as he is around me?"

Kate burst out laughing as Isaac groaned, "Well what do you mean by 'egghead'?" Kate asked in between laughs.

Melody scrunched up her nose as she spoke, "He's always talking about computers and math and stuff. He's always got his face in a book, too!"

Isaac blushed, "I'm not an egghead..."

"Well when we were in Ranger School together, he spent all of his free time in the library" Kate remembered.

"But I don't think he's an egghead" Kate argued, "He also would hack into computers and time himself. He'd get so excited whenever it took less time for him to hack into them"

Isaac blushed madly and used his hands to hide his face, "Did not" his muffled voice denied.

"'Bam! A minute and thirty eight seconds!'" Kate recited, doing an impression of Isaac.

"Seems pretty egghead-like to me" Catherine said, earning a giggle from Melody.

"You had to be there. It was adorable" Kate said. Regret instantly flowed through Kate's veins.

Melody's eyes lit up, "Adorable?! You think my brother's adorable?!"

"No" Kate denied.

"But you said-"

"I didn't say anything!"

"You thought I was adorable?" Isaac asked Kate.

It was Kate's turn to blush and hide her face.

"I think you might be the egghead" Catherine said, referring to her sister.

"Am not..." Kate said, her voice muffled by her hands.

"Are too!"

Kate looked up from her hands and glared at her sister, "Am not!"

"Are too!"

"You're impossible"

"I win!" Catherine laughed.

"At least we're both eggheads..." Isaac mumbled.

"You can be eggheads together!" Melody suggested.

Kate and Isaac both blushed a deep red, avoiding eye contact with each other.

Kate suddenly bolted up off the bench, "I have to make a call I'll be right back!" She shouted quickly, walking away and pulling out her styler.

Once she was sure the group couldn't hear her, she attempting to get ahold of Wendy. Wendy answered, "What's up?"

"Wendy it's Kate," she said, "I'm seriously going to throw up"

"Catherine and Melody not getting along?"

"Oh no they're getting along. It's my fault really"

"What's the problem?"

"I called Isaac adorable...in front of him!"

"Wow...so much for keeping it a secret"

Kate groaned.

"Listen Kate, I think maybe you should just tell him- can't get any more awkward, right?" Wendy suggested.

"But our sisters are here..." Kate muttered.

"Then tell him later! Sorry Kate I gotta go- Professor Hastings needs me"

"Bye Wendy"

Kate hung up, took a deep breath, and walked back over to the group.

"Kate!" Catherine chirped, "Can I trade you for Isaac?"

Kate blinked in surprise, "You wanna trade me for Isaac?"

"Yeah"

Kate sighed, "Well okay see ya later. Good luck Isaac" she said, a joking tone to her voice.

As Kate turned to leave, her sister got up and threw her arms around her, "I was just kidding! Please don't leave me!" Catherine cried.

Kate pretended to think it over, "Well...I guess I could be your sister again...on one condition"

"What is it?"

"Admit you're an egghead!" Kate said suddenly, kneeling down to her sister's level and poking her.

"I'm not an egghead!" Catherine denied.

"Oh well...here you go Isaac" Kate teased, pushing her sister in Isaac's direction.

"No!" Catherine cried, clinging to her sister, "Im an egghead!"

Kate laughed, "Gotcha!"

Her sister looked up at her, "What?"

"You're an egghead!"

"Kate!" Catherine yelled, pushing her sister away.

Kate laughed uncontrollably, "Look who's an egghead now!"

"I think it's still you..." Melody said. Isaac snorted.

Kate turned her head to him, "Something funny?"

"No..." Isaac denied, trying to hide his smile.

Kate stood up, her hands on her hips, "Liar"

Isaac feigned shock, "I am hurt that you would think I would lie to you"

"Lying again?" Kate tsked, "Isaac, I expected better from you"

"Well I can't be adorable all of the time" he teased, blushing slightly.

Kate's blush returned, "I...I gotta go. Let's go Catherine" she said quickly, grabbing her sister's hand and dragged her away.

"Bye Melody!" Catherine said, waving with her free hand.

"Bye Catherine!" Melody responded, waving as well.

Catherine looked up at her sister, "Do you have a crush on Isaac?"

Kate blushed harder, "Yes...but don't tell anyone"

Catherine grinned, "Aw that's so cute! I won't tell!"

Kate mumbled a few words of protest as she and her sister walked though the town to get home as soon as possible.

Most people ship Kate with Keith tbh but I don't because Isaac is so preciousssssss
