"I am so not ready for this!" Lillie stressed, pacing in front of her mirror.

"It's not that big a deal, Lillie" Moon added, laying on her back on Lillie's bed. Gladion sat unamused on the floor next to the bed.

"Easy for you to say..." Lillie pouted.

Hau had invited Lillie out for malasadas tonight, just the two of them. They'd never gone out alone before. Moon or Gladion were normally with them! While Hau never said that it would be a date, Moon said it probably was.

Moon threw up her hands, "Look on the bright side! Hau's been in love with you for five years. There's nothing you could do to screw it up"

That was true. Hau had liked her for a long time, she knew that. She had only started having feelings for Hau recently, though.

"Are you sure? What if I trip and fall face first into some mud and then he says 'Wow Lillie you're so un-coordinated and clumsy, I don't like you anymore' and then-" Lillie panicked.

"You're thinking too much" Moon groaned "It's Hau! He'll probably like you even more if you did that"

"He is weird like that" her brother chimed in.

Lillie groaned and looked in the mirror. She figured she'd just wear her normal clothes since Hau didn't specify if it was a date or not, but she couldn't help but worry. What if he dressed up and you didn't?

"Lillie it's not that hard, just be yourself and Hau will like you. It's worked so far" Moon assured.

Lillie sighed. Was she really being so foolish?

"Not that hard" Lillie mocked "Took you five years to make a move on my brother"

"This isn't about me though" Moon defended.

"Lillie, a word of advice" Gladion began.

Lillie turned to her brother, ready to listen to whatever "advice" he was about to give.

"If Hau steps out of line, I'll snap him in half" Gladion finished.

"How is that advice?" Moon asked.

Gladion shrugged, "Men are Pignites"

"Does this mean I should break up with you?" Moon teased.

"You guys aren't helping" Lillie sighed.

The couple gave a brief "sorry" before becoming silent.

Lillie walked over to her door and her hand hovered over the handle.

"I can do this" she whispered to herself. She opened the door, turned around to tell the pair to get out of her room, and walked out with her brother and best friend at her heels.

Lillie walked into the malasada shop and smelled the familiar scent of dough and berries. She quickly scanned the shop for the boy with green hair. Of course, there he was, already stuffing a malasada in his mouth with a plate of more in front of him. He probably had zero intention of sharing them, too.

He spotted her before she could walk over there, "Lillie!" He waved, mouth full of food.

Lillie walked over and sat across from him.

"You look like a Pachirisu when you do that"

Hau swallows his food. "What's a Pachirisu?"

Lillie sighed and mumbled a "never mind"

Hau pushed the plate of food towards her, "Malasada? They're sweet, just like you like 'em"
Lillie shook her head. "I'm not very hungry..."

Hau grew a look of concern, "You okay? Were Moon and Gladion being a gross couple again?"

Lillie shook her head. "No"

"Kukui and Burnet?"

"I'm fine, Hau"

"Hmm I don't really believe you"

Lillie shrugged. Hau scanned her face and started wrapping up the malasadas. Lillie watched him carefully, curious. What was he doing? He always finishes his malasadas.

When he finished he got up and held his hand out.

"C'mon Lillie let's get going"

She hesitantly took his hand, "Going where?"

Hau dragged her out of the shop.

"I don't know"

"Oh great" she said sarcastically. Hau let go of her hand, shoved his hands in his pockets, and they walked around the city.

"Ah but it's a beautiful afternoon. What's wrong with an afternoon stroll?"

"Nothing" she guessed.

"Hau, one, Lillie, zero"

"Okay you have the ego the size of a Snorlax"

"Well that's where you're wrong- my ego is the size of a Wailord"

"Only you could take that as a compliment"

Hau flashed her a smile. His smile suddenly grew larger as if he had an idea. He frantically looked around and his eyes rested on a Tauros that was used as a ride Pokémon. He whistled and the Pokémon turned its head and galloped over to him.

Hau put his hand on the Pokémon's snout. "Think you can carry two people?"

"Hau this is crazy!" Lillie yelled, holding on the the boy in front of her.

"Yeah! Isn't it great?!" He yelled back. Tauros seemed to run faster and faster by the second. Lillie's arms were wrapped around the boy's torso. She was holding on tight. She hated riding Tauros. They were too fast and aggressive for her taste.

"Hey! Sorry! Look out!" Hau yelled to people who happened to be in the way of Tauros. Tauros elegantly dodged each of them, however, which was surprising considering the Pokémon's bulk. Tauros stopped suddenly and Lillie would've fallen off if Hau hadn't been sitting in front of her.

Hau laughed like a madman. "That was awesome!"

"Define awesome..." Lillie groaned.

Hau slid off of Tauros' back and offered his hand to Lillie. She took it and got down from the Pokémon's back. The Pokémon addressed Hau and Hau nodded. The Tauros stomped away.

Lillie took in her surroundings.

The beach? The beach. At sundown?

"C'mon Lillie! Let's build some sand castles!" Hau cheered, tugging Lillie with him into the sand.

They sat in the sand for what seemed like forever just building sand castles. At first Lillie thought it was a little bit juvenile, but she shrugged it off. This was Hau after all.

"This castle..." she observed. It was uneven and falling apart at most of its sides.

"It's horrible" she laughed.

Hau shrugged and chuckled, "Well not everything can be as beautiful as you"

Lillie shook her head, blushing. Hau said things like that all the time. He always said he just wanted a reaction out of her.

"Hey that one worked! I'll say it more often" Hau teased. Lillie punched his arm and the pair started laughing uncontrollably.

Was this considered a date? She was still a little unsure, but one thing was sure.

She liked Hau.
